Chapter 59: Tiny Sword!
Chapter 59: Tiny Sword!
“Ugh!”
“Wah!”
When Tang Jinbiao clearly saw what was before him, he didn’t scream. Instead, he just sprawled there vomiting.
Tang Jinbiao retched until he vomited everything out, even stomach acid, before he finally slowed down and weakly stopped.
“Damn it! You’re so fucking ugly! I’ve seen ugly, but never seen anyone as ugly as you!” Feeling like he was finally done vomiting, Tang Jinbiao cursed feebly.
Not far from him lay a lump of black goo. It looked like a big blob of black mud, or more disgustingly, like a massive pile of black mess from severe diarrhea.
Clank! Clank!
“Ignorant mortal! Why have you not knelt upon beholding me, the Azure Dragon Demon King?” The black mass suddenly spoke, its body shifting slightly and rattling heavy chains as it moved.
“Wah!” Catching another glimpse of it, Tang Jinbiao gagged violently again.
“Mortal! Kneel immediately before me, the Azure Dragon Demon King!” The black mass seemed angered by Tang Jinbiao’s attitude and roared again.
“Huh?” Frowning slightly upon hearing this, Tang Jinbiao tried to lift his head to get a better look at the black mass. But the instant he did, another wave of nausea hit him and he gagged once more.
“…” The thing calling itself the Azure Dragon Demon King seemed to realize something was very, very wrong. A silence fell.
…
Two hours later, Tang Jinbiao was finally able to somewhat tolerate the black thing’s presence.
“Hey, human boy! Listen! Just agree to my terms: go take that Tiny Sword over there. If you do, I, the Azure Dragon Demon King, will repay you! I will use an incomparable demonic technique to channel demonic energy into you! In no time at all, I can make you a Tribulation Transcendent! I might even enable you to ascend!” The black mass seemed unable to leave this place but could speak Human language, offering words designed to be very tempting.
“Pah! Save that bullshit! Just days ago, right next to me, I had another con artist! He called himself the most magnificent God-King of the entire Divine Realm! Claimed he could turn me into a Three-Step Great Power in under a hundred years – that Old Charlatan! If I believed your crap now, I’d be out of my damn mind! Just tell me, how do I get out of here? Cut the crap!” Tang Jinbiao fired back, cursing loudly. Even though this black ooze proclaimed itself the Azure Dragon Demon King, after all his experience dealing with Huang Biaozi, there was no way Tang Jinbiao would fall for it now!
“What?! A Three-Step Great Power… in under a hundred years?” Upon hearing this, the Azure Dragon visibly trembled in shock. Obviously, it grasped the sheer magnitude of what a Three-Step Great Power represented far better than Tang Jinbiao did.
“Hmph! What’s wrong? Scared? Intimidated? Tremble, you fool… you Drag… you feces-kind!” Seeing the fear in the black blob claiming to be an Azure Dragon, Tang Jinbiao sneered, outright mocking it.
In less than a year, Tang Jinbiao had picked up Huang Biaozi’s pretentious, swaggering skills, and he deployed them without hesitation now. If Huang Biaozi could see him, he’d probably nod in approval.
“I…” The Azure Dragon realized that even though Tang Jinbiao’s Cultivation Level was pitifully low – basically a Mortal in its eyes – this very Mortal had rendered it utterly helpless for two whole hours.
“Damn, what’s this kid’s background? He’s soft-hard impervious; could there really be a God-King standing behind him? No way? I’ve cultivated for hundreds of thousands of years and haven’t even passed the ascension tribulation. How could a mere Mortal gain the favor of a God-King?”
Originally, Azure Dragon planned to use a demonic voice to bewitch Tang Jinbiao, but was horrified to discover that outside Tang Jinbiao’s sea of divine sense, a pale yellow Light Barrier protected him. No matter what methods he used, he couldn’t control Tang Jinbiao. So out of helplessness, he could only resort to temptation to drive him. Yet Tang Jinbiao was as stubborn as stone—both smelly and hard, soft-hard impervious—but the thought that a God-King might truly back him made it feel like a dog biting a porcupine: nowhere to start. He couldn’t help but curse inwardly.
“Hey, Black Fly, you said you were once the Demon Emperor of the Demon Realm, so how’d you end up like this? Summon a demoness for this one to see! I want the kind with an angel’s face and a devil’s figure, best if it’s 36D. Of course, a 28 would be even better! Yeah, those are roughly the requirements. If you can conjure one up now, this one will believe you!”
Tang Jinbiao was idle and bored. He glanced not far away where a small square table stood. The table wasn’t large and seemed made of stone. He slowly walked over while speaking.
As for the name Black Fly, Tang Jinbiao had made it up himself. He didn’t grasp much of what a Demon Emperor meant but always thought it sounded impressive. So, summoning a demoness shouldn’t be hard, right?
“I am the Azure Dragon Demon King, so stop giving this one such an ugly name! Besides, if I could summon a demon envoy right now, why the hell would I need your help?”
Azure Dragon didn’t understand what Black Fly signified but felt it was odd. He also thought Tang Jinbiao’s demands were sheer fantasy and roared back immediately.
“Fuck, I’m Brother Biao the Great Demon King! If you can’t even summon a demoness, why should I believe you? If you’ve got no one to show, stop bullshitting!”
Tang Jinbiao reached the side of that square table and swore. Clearly, he thought Azure Dragon was fooling him. But no sooner had he cursed than something on the table caught his eye.
“I…”
Azure Dragon was speechless again. If he still had Magical Power now, Tang Jinbiao could die a thousand times or ten thousand times, and it wouldn’t vent his hatred.
That square table wasn’t large, just about a meter across. On its surface, an Eight Trigrams design was carved. It looked completely ordinary except that in the center of the yin-yang fish diagram, a pair of Tiny Swords rested—one black and one white.
The black Tiny Sword seemed forged from iron, while the white one looked like jade. Both Tiny Swords were exquisitely delicate and uniquely crafted.
“Fuck, would using these Tiny Swords to cut watermelons look stylish?”
As Tang Jinbiao eyed the two Tiny Swords, excitement flared in his gaze. Unconsciously, he reached out to touch them.
“This?”
Azure Dragon had been seething with rage, but when he saw Tang Jinbiao tempted to grasp the Tiny Swords, he froze momentarily. Then he snapped out of it, his tone dripping with enticement and even stirring his own excitement. “Yes, boy—no, little brother, hurry and take those Tiny Swords! As long as you take them, I, Azure Dragon Great—wait, as your humble servant, I can fulfill all your demands! Yes, all of them!”
“I Bought a Watch Last Year, you’re the brother, you and your whole family are brothers!”
After Azure Dragon called him that, Tang Jinbiao shuddered and snapped to his senses. Turning around, he cursed out loud.
“I…”
Azure Dragon naturally didn’t comprehend why acknowledging Tang Jinbiao prompted such abuse. If he’d heard the saying, “Nothing’s tastier than dumplings, nothing’s funnier than sisters-in-law,” he might have regretted using that phrase.
“Hmph, thinking you can take advantage of this one? You’re still green!”
Even as he swore, Tang Jinbiao turned back and peered closely at the black mass that Azure Dragon had transformed into.
In this cramped space, the walls were covered with countless densely packed chains. Upon close inspection, all the chains either originated from this square table and ended at the black mass, or flowed from the black mass to this spot. In short, one was the starting point, the other the endpoint.
“Could these Tiny Swords be the Formation Core Seal locking down that thing?”
Tang Jinbiao wasn’t foolish and realized this in an instant, muttering to himself.
“What?”
The moment he muttered that, he turned back to examine the two Tiny Swords and suddenly noticed small characters engraved on them!
Tang Ni!
As Tang Jinbiao made out those two characters, his body gave a slight jolt. He vaguely recalled hearing that name before but couldn’t immediately remember where.
“Right, when Tang Huaxi and Tang Xingchi hauled me away, those two seemed to faintly mention a person. That person sounded like Tang Ni!”
In a blink, Tang Jinbiao remembered—back when Tang Huaxi and Tang Xingchi, entrusted by the Third Elder, had taken him away, they’d vaguely brought up such an individual.
“Hey, Black Fly, who’s this Tang Ni engraved on the Tiny Sword? Is he the guy who sealed you here?”
The moment he considered it, Tang Jinbiao asked outright.
Clang-clatter!
The black mass shuddered fearfully at the name Tang Ni, rattling the chains.
“Tang Ni! Tang Ni! Could he be part of our Tang Family too? And judging by those two fellows’ conversation back then, he must be deeply tied to me. Could he be my older brother or sister? Yeah, probably my older brother. Back then, I regained some memories and sort of recalled having such a brother!”
Seeing Azure Dragon’s reaction, Tang Jinbiao instantly understood. Clearly, upon reading the words on the Tiny Sword, he realized the black mass—calling itself Azure Dragon—was likely sealed there by Tang Ni. How formidable Azure Dragon might be was unknown, but intuition told him it was incredibly, unimaginably powerful. Compared to Huang Biaozi, it felt unrelated or on a different level entirely.
What manner of being Huang Biaozi truly was—even now—Tang Jinbiao couldn’t begin to fathom. Huang Biaozi came across like an utterly powerless Mortal, yet his words often carried the weight of a divine decree everyone obeyed. As for the black mass before him, Tang Jinbiao didn’t grasp its strength either, but he could vaguely sense it.
Of course, what struck him most at that moment was the identity of the Tiny Sword’s master, Tang Ni!
All this time, he hadn’t seen his mother nor Tang Ni. He only caught occasional whispers about him. Though he’d never met Tang Ni, the name alone radiated legend, Tang Ni!
Obey ordinariness, reject immortals!
Obey death, reject life!
Reject all that can be rejected…
