Chapter 101: What Did He See?
Chapter 101: What Did He See?
“No… no…”
After hearing those two piercing screams, Tang Jinbiao couldn’t help but scream in his heart, but no matter how he tried to shout, he couldn’t open his mouth, nor could he open his eyes. He even felt as if a large hand was tightly choking his throat at that moment, an inexplicable immense pressure was bearing down on him, and an indescribably icy cold continually assailed him, as though his whole body had turned into Frost Crystals from head to toe.
“You shouldn’t have come back!”
“Why did you come back?”
“You are not welcome here!”
…
“Get out! You are not welcome here!”
“Why don’t you just die?”
“Wuwuwu…”
“Wawawa…”
If it had only been those things, Tang Jinbiao wouldn’t have felt pain. Yet in this boundless, endless darkness, voices echoed one after another in Tang Jinbiao’s mind.
Those voices sounded like men and women, old and young, some shrill, some deep, some raspy, some melodious. But each one seemed filled with hostility, and they were mixed with what sounded like a little girl’s sobs.
“Ah!”
Those voices were like sharp daggers, constantly stabbing Tang Jinbiao’s head. They seemed set to pierce his skull and bore deep into his mind. He couldn’t help but let out a suffering shriek, yet he still made no sound at all.
“Die already!”
“Don’t come back!”
“You are not welcome here!”
Those voices ceaselessly lingered around Tang Jinbiao’s ears, refusing to fade away.
“Get out!”
At the very end, Tang Jinbiao finally seemed unable to bear it all. His throat suddenly jerked, and a thunderous roar erupted from his mouth.
“Wawawa!”
“Hahaha!”
“Tititi!”
But as Tang Jinbiao made that sound, those other voices abruptly faded away and vanished swiftly toward the horizon.
Bang!
Suddenly, just as Tang Jinbiao produced the sound, his eyes snapped wide open. Yet when he opened them, he magically discovered that before him was still pitch darkness, a complete void, with nothing visible at all—exactly the same as when his eyes were shut.
“Where am I? Where am I?”
After Tang Jinbiao opened his eyes, he realized his body could miraculously move. He began trying to pinpoint where he was.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
But as he shifted his body slightly, all at once, he felt that his face and neck shattered like glass, transforming into streaks of gleam before disappearing.
“What?”
Although he hadn’t seen his own face shatter, he was absolutely certain in his heart that those fluorescent lights were emitted from his face cracking. Horrified, he suddenly reached out to grab those lights.
Crack, crack, crack!
But the same scene repeated as he stretched out his hand—his hand made cracking sounds like glass, and with a similar bang, it instantly shattered into countless fluorescent lights and vanished.
“Why?”
After seeing this bizarre sight, Tang Jinbiao felt completely stunned in an instant.
He had clearly been preparing to teleport just now, but suddenly and inexplicably ended up here. Moreover, his body seemed unable to move; if he moved even slightly, it would vanish.
Buzz, buzz, buzz!
But as Tang Jinbiao was puzzling over why, a dazzling yellow light suddenly burst from deep within his mind. The yellow light enveloped his entire body, and in a blink, Tang Jinbiao felt like he could move again and could see faint, scattered lights.
“Huang Biaozi!”
For some reason, upon seeing this sudden yellow light, Tang Jinbiao instantly cried out Huang Biaozi’s name, and tears involuntarily streamed out.
But no one responded; everything remained silent.
“Huang Biaozi, is that you? Are you here?”
After getting no response, Tang Jinbiao called out again.
Still, there was no reply.
Boom, boom, boom!
Just as Tang Jinbiao was calling for Huang Biaozi, he suddenly felt his vision darken, with something rushing toward him to attack.
“Bad!”
Sensing something approaching, Tang Jinbiao’s face changed slightly as he thought about dodging the impact.
Swish!
But as he was thinking this, his vision blurred, and a giant boulder sped past not far from him toward the rear.
“What?”
Seeing the giant boulder receding close by, horror flashed in Tang Jinbiao’s eyes. Yet as he showed that horror, a sharp pain stabbed his vision.
Hiss, hiss, hiss!
“What is that?”
Feeling intense light shining toward him, Tang Jinbiao squinted his eyes slightly to see the sight clearly. But when he did see it clearly, shock spread across his face.
Stream, stream, stream!
A moment later, the shock on Tang Jinbiao’s face gradually faded, replaced by sorrow, and tears streamed from his eyes…
Tens of thousands of miles outside Panlong City, in a huge city, inside a grand hall before a massive teleportation array, about a dozen cultivators around twenty years old, each exuding the distinct pressure of Foundation Establishment Cultivators, were whispering among themselves about something. But among them, a man and a woman, though looking young, gave off an immensely powerful aura; they were two Core Formation Cultivators.
“Senior Brother Bai, is the news from Panlong City accurate?”
The speaker was none other than that Core Formation female cultivator, who looked about twenty yet exuded tremendous pressure.
Although this woman was young and beautiful, she carried a worldly, frivolous air, making her appear flirtatious at a glance. When she spoke, her seductive eyes blinked continuously as if enticing the man before her.
“Hmph, Sister Gao, you’d better retract that charm technique of yours. If I lose control, don’t blame me for showing no mercy! As for the intelligence reported there, it certainly isn’t false. We only need to hold our position—once they appear, apprehend them immediately!”
The man addressed as Brother Bai wore a half-smile as he snorted, speaking in a tone impossible to decipher. His features were extraordinarily handsome, his bearing imposing, and his Cultivation Level was profoundly impressive—naturally drawing the woman’s attention.
“Hehe, little sister naturally knows Brother is a man of self-restraint. How would I dare to deliberately seduce you? Admiring Brother’s extraordinary presence led to a moment of admiration—where was any charm technique? Brother Bai, you do joke!”
Sister Gao laughed lightly, amusement in her voice.
Buzz buzz buzz!
“They’re here!”
“Everyone, get ready!”
Just at that moment, the Teleportation Array before them suddenly lit up with a low hum. Brother Bai and Sister Gao instantly snapped alert, shouting commands.
“Alright!”
“Received!”
Upon hearing the order, the young male and female Cultivators nearby scattered swiftly, conjuring Spirit Artifacts of all shapes from their hands—ready to strike.
Buzz buzz buzz!
Whoosh!
Abruptly, the Teleportation Array spun violently, erupting in blinding light!
Clang Clang Clang!
The light vanished instantly. The Array ceased functioning. At that same second, two silhouettes appeared on the Teleportation Platform—one taller, one shorter.
“Ah! My head! So dizzy!”
“Waaah!”
As they appeared, these two seemed disoriented, dazed as if their minds struggled to clear. They were Tang Yilin and Little Tang Song. Tang Yilin shook her head gently, trying to regain focus, while Little Tang Song simply crumpled to the floor, sobbing helplessly.
“What?”
Brother Bai’s stern expression vanished the moment he saw them. A wide smile spread across his face. He turned and flashed a clear signal to the Cultivators poised for attack: stand down!
“So beautiful!”
“Does a woman this stunning exist on this earth?”
The Cultivators, Spirit Artifacts still gripped in their hands, stared dumbstruck, frozen in their tracks.
“This…”
Sister Gao, equally shocked, clearly hadn’t expected the arriving Tang Yilin to possess such breathtaking beauty.
“Ah!”
After a moment, Tang Yilin seemed to regain her senses. She exhaled sharply, lifting her head to survey her surroundings. Yet, the moment she did, her expression shifted. Alarmed.
“Tang Song, let’s go!”
Tang Yilin snatched up Little Tang Song, leaping backward over ten paces. Fury twisted her features as she demanded harshly: “Who are you people?”
What she saw sent shock and anger warring within her: ten Foundation Establishment Cultivators holding an array of Spirit Artifacts, poised to attack.
This was her first time using a Teleportation Array. She wasn’t quite sure what had transpired during the transit. Still, this experience differed markedly from the descriptions she’d heard—simply dizzying flashes, and then arrival.
She, Tang Jinbiao, and Tang Song had used the Array together, yet something had clearly gone wrong. Only she and Tang Song arrived here; Tang Jinbiao hadn’t come through. But such thoughts were irrelevant now—immediate trouble stared her down.
“Everyone, attack!”
Reacting instantly to Tang Yilin’s sudden leap, Sister Gao bellowed her command.
“Yes!”
“Acknowledged!”
Upon Sister Gao’s order, the female Cultivators leapt into action immediately. The male Cultivators, however, hesitated momentarily, their attacks fractionally slower, reluctance etched onto their faces.
Whoosh Whoosh Whoosh!
With the order given, several Spirit Artifacts shot towards Tang Yilin with lethal speed!
“You dare!”
Watching them attack on sight fueled Tang Yilin’s rage. She dared not underestimate them for an instant—the lowest Cultivation Level among them was Foundation Establishment. Such an assault held real threat.
Shunk!
Clang Clang Clang!
Tang Yilin slapped her Storage Pouch. A bronze-gold shield shaped like an ingot flew out with a whirr. Instantly, it expanded into a massive barrier shielding her and Tang Song. The Flying Swords lost momentum instantly. They clanged uselessly against the shield’s surface, their Spiritual Energy evaporating as they clattered to the ground.
“What?!”
“An ingot?!”
The sight of Tang Yilin wielding such a formidable artifact from the outset elicited gasps of shock and disbelief.
“Kill!”
Seeing their opening strike fail, the Cultivators roared, channeling power anew into their Spirit Artifacts, driving them relentlessly towards Tang Yilin…
