Chapter 76: Fierce Lili
Chapter 76: Fierce Lili
Lin Qi walked out of the secret passage and looked back at the penthouse suite where Arthur was. Arthur stood behind the floor-to-ceiling window, a towel wrapped around his lower body, looking outside. The two unrelated brothers gazed at each other from a distance.
The floor-to-ceiling windows of the Green Gem Hotel used a special type of glass made by the Vias Commercial Federation. It had magical power. People inside the room could see the outside scene, but people outside could not see any image from inside.
Lin Qi naturally did not have the ability to see through this special glass, but he knew Arthur was behind that window. He smiled, raised his hand, waved at the window, then gently made a throat-slitting gesture.
Arthur stood behind the window, his hands resting on the round table. His fingers suddenly tightened, digging deep into the hard oak wood.
“Lin Qi! You won’t always be this smug!” Arthur laughed strangely a few times, then gently clapped his hands. Several big men in black martial attire walked out from a side door. They bowed respectfully to Arthur, but their eyes uncontrollably drifted toward the naked young girl with platinum blond hair.
“I don’t want to see her appear in Dornick Port ever again. Make her completely vanish from this world!” Arthur glanced at the young girl sleeping soundly on the floor, a cruel and fierce glint flashing in his single eye.
This young girl had a noble and beautiful face like that of a noble lady, but she came from a lowly background. Her mother was just a down-and-out old prostitute at Dornick Port. Arthur met her by chance, bought her, and kept her in his secret hideout. Today, to deal with Lin Qi, he had summoned her to the Green Gem Hotel. But now, her usefulness had completely disappeared.
He couldn’t let her be found by Lin Qi or Blackbeard. If the cunning Blackbeard learned that this young girl was brought to the hotel shortly before Lin Qi entered, then Blackbeard would definitely suspect that tonight’s events were related to Arthur.
Arthur could not afford to lose Blackbeard’s trust and favor. He had to maintain his image in Blackbeard’s mind. He absolutely could not let Blackbeard discover that he was involved in Ya and Ling’s probe against Lin Qi. Any possible clues had to be completely erased.
“What a pity. You might have had a father of noble blood! But, that’s all there is to it!” Looking at that beautiful face that had once captivated him for a time, Arthur waved his hand as if discarding trash.
The men in martial attire picked up the messy clothes from the floor, wrapped the young girl in a white cloth, and placed her into a very large leather suitcase.
A few minutes later, several men, now dressed in lavish clothes and looking every bit like merchants, carried several large leather suitcases out through the main entrance of the Green Gem Hotel. Two carriages were already waiting for them outside. After the suitcases were loaded into the carriages, the men got on board. From then on, there was no more trace of that beautiful young girl with platinum blond hair in the world. Her mother also vanished without a trace that same day.
A down-and-out old prostitute and her illegitimate daughter—who would care about them?
Lin Qi sat in the carriage, sneezing all the way back to the Ancestral Residence. Bar rode on horseback, leading a team of guards escorting them. Enzo sat opposite Lin Qi, looking at him curiously.
Lin Qi took out a handkerchief and wiped his nose hard. He asked weakly, “Why are you looking at me? What’s so interesting?”
Enzo shifted his body, crossed his legs, and smiled, “I’m just curious. Do you really believe Arthur spent the night in the hotel with that woman?”
Lin Qi let out a helpless bitter laugh, tossed the handkerchief onto the carriage floor, held his head in his hands, and groaned, “Of course I don’t believe it. But what can I do? Torture him in front of Uncle Bar? Oh, father would beat me to death! Uncle Bar doesn’t like that guy either, but he wouldn’t let me mess with him recklessly. Father gave them strict orders not to get involved in matters between me and that guy!”
Enzo also sighed. There really was no way around it. If Blackbeard forbade Lin Qi from acting recklessly toward Arthur, then in Dornick Port, no one could help Lin Qi mess with Arthur. Unless there was solid evidence proving that Ya and Ling were Arthur’s accomplices, and that those Black Spirit big men were Arthur’s subordinates, no one could lay a finger on Arthur.
As Blackbeard’s adopted son, and as the only son entrusted to Blackbeard by his staunch ally Red-Haired Ghost on his deathbed, Arthur naturally had a thick layer of protection. This layer of protection was something even Lin Qi could not easily break. It involved Blackbeard’s prestige and reputation, which could not be lightly challenged.
Lin Qi fell into deep thought. He was considering what troubles would come his way if he couldn’t catch those two women.
There should be trouble, but Lin Qi was not afraid of trouble. This time he was able to severely injure those two arrogant women, so naturally he could do it again next time.
The journey passed without further conversation. The carriage, surrounded by guards, returned to the Ancestral Residence. Lin Qi and Enzo, helped by the guards, carefully got off the carriage. Their wounds had just been bandaged and they could not move vigorously. Only after returning to the Ancestral Residence and being treated carefully with the Black Tiger Family’s secret elixir could they move as before. As the biggest leader in the Underworld of the northern part of the Continent, the Black Tiger Family naturally did not lack various secret medicines to save lives and cure illnesses.
Just as they reached the entrance of the Ancestral Residence, Lin Qi suddenly heard a terrifying roar.
Ironhammer cried out miserably as he was kicked out, nearly crashing into Lin Qi. Then an astonishing scene unfolded. Lin Qi’s wet nurse, Aunt Lili, was wearing a helmet and armor, angrily charging out of the Ancestral Residence while carrying a huge spiked club.
“Curse the Gods above! Who dared bully my little Young Master Lin Qi? Lili will smash their heads flat! Damn it, who dares to stop me?”
Aunt Lili was furious. She waved the enormous spiked club, scaring the servants and staff in the Ancestral Residence so much that they trembled and didn’t dare to block her.
Enzo glanced at the heavy bluish-gray armor Aunt Lili was wearing and couldn’t help gasping in shock—that was the armor of high-ranking officers among the Bearmen from the Alien Race tribes of the Five Great Archipelagos, famous for their strength and fiery tempers, ranking among the top three in brute force. Such a set of armor had astonishing defensive power, but even more astonishing was its weight. This high-grade armor, named ‘Bear Clan’s Wrath,’ weighed over one thousand eight hundred jin altogether. On the Western Continent, it was unheard of for any Human to be able to wear it!
But now, it was worn on Aunt Lili’s body. Moreover, Aunt Lili was even swinging a spanked club at least as thick as Ironhammer’s thigh, running swiftly toward the outside of the Ancestral Residence.
“Gods, does she have Beastfolk blood?” Enzo’s vision went dark, and he almost fainted. He had to take back his judgment from when he first arrived at Lin Qi’s Ancestral Residence. Aunt Lili, clad in helmet and armor, could not just sweep through a thousand-man team; she likely had the strength to face a ten-thousand-man Legion head-on!
It was too terrifying!
