Chapter 71: Divine Source Potion
Chapter 71: Divine Source Potion
In the luxurious suite of the Green Gem Hotel, a Black Spirit man staggered along a secret passage specially designed for the suite’s distinguished guests, protected by four companions. The five big men were as strong as lions, but at this moment, tears streamed down their faces, and their rough faces were filled with sadness.
Arthur stood outside a floor-to-ceiling window, frowning as he looked toward the direction of the harbor district. The sky in that direction was brightly lit by lights, and even though it was far away, one could still imagine what was happening there. The tremendous explosion that had just occurred had startled the entire Dun Er Ke, and all armed forces in Dun Er Ke, still on wartime alert, should have already mobilized en masse.
The explosion was extremely shocking; even the Green Gem Hotel, several miles away, trembled from the impact. For the residents of Dun Er Ke, such a powerful explosion had only been experienced a few times during the Hundred-Year Land-Island War. Each time, it was when the Alien Race armies from the Five Great Archipelagos launched a surprise attack on Dun Er Ke, and their high-ranking mages cast large-scale battlefield magic with that level of power.
“What on earth did Ya and Ling do?” Arthur frowned and asked with a hint of displeasure.
“Don’t worry, Ya and Ling are quite capable themselves, and they are alert and clever. Even if something went wrong, they would be able to retreat safely,” Elham said dismissively as he flipped through the thick scripture in his hands, speaking lightly. “Besides, Adu is with them. Adu is just one step away from becoming a Celestial Knight. How many people in Dun Er Ke could pose a threat to him?”
Arthur quickly recalled the individuals he knew in Dun Er Ke who possessed great combat power. Apart from the mysterious Blackbeard, it seemed no one could threaten Adu. Even the most capable enforcers around Blackbeard—Ironhammer, Butcher Knife, Bar, and the others—usually only displayed the level of High-Rank Earth Riders, and they might not necessarily be a match for Adu.
As for the Garrison Army of Dun Er Ke, the strongest among them was the garrison commander, Lieutenant Colonel Woto, who was only an Earth Rank Intermediate Stage Knight. Moreover, he was already old, and his physical strength and vigor had begun to decline, making him even less likely to be a match for Adu.
“But what about that explosion just now?” Arthur kindly reminded Elham.
Elham closed the scripture, picked up a wine glass, and took a sip. He smiled warmly and gracefully, saying, “Alright, alright. Perhaps Ya and Ling were just venting their anger. They’ve never been insulted like that before. They were so furious that they destroyed the tracking Magic Array, clearly not wanting us to see them being cursed at.”
Chuckling lightly, Elham said calmly, “If this were in the Church Sanctuary, anyone who dared to disrespect them would have been turned to ashes. But here, I reminded them to keep a low profile and be cautious. So they probably found some target to vent their anger on. It won’t lead to anything serious.”
As soon as he finished speaking, a sharp bronze bell rang in the corner of the hall. A hidden door was pushed open forcefully, and five Black Spirit men, silently shedding tears, rushed in escorting two women who were covered in blood and whose clothes were in disarray.
“Deity!” Elham, who had always been calm and composed as if everything was under control, flung the scripture in his hand far away and leapt to his feet in shock. The three young men sitting beside him were also horrified and quickly jumped up, rushing forward.
Elham dashed like a gust of wind to the Black Spirit man holding Ya and Ling. He angrily slapped the Black Spirit man across the face and roughly snatched Ya and Ling from his grasp. He cursed under his breath, “Lowly creatures, Black Spirits marked with sin on your very skin, how dare you touch them with your filthy limbs? Scoundrels, you all deserve to die! Kill them!”
Without a word, the three young men rushed forward. Two of them drew their swords and thrust at the five Black Spirit men, while the third softly chanted an incantation, his body enveloped in a thick, deep blue mist. The writhing mist wrapped around the young man as several distorted Runes quickly appeared at his fingertips. A terrifying chill spread from his feet, condensing into a strange triangular glowing pattern beneath him.
“Sinners, face the wrath of the Ice and Snow Deity! Let the pure and flawless ice and snow cleanse your Soul and erase your sins!” The young man waved his hands, and twenty-five ice spikes formed around him. The ice spikes, about three feet long, emitted a shocking coldness, rapidly covering all the furniture and decorations in the room with a thin layer of frost.
Arthur cried out in fear and alarm, “Sir Elham, wait! Let me ask what happened!”
Only then did Elham snap back to his senses. He angrily barked, “Fine, stop!”
The ice spikes were ready to launch. Hearing Elham’s command, the young man in robes hesitated for a moment, and the Runes swirling at his fingertips slowly dissipated. The ice spikes turned into wisps of cold air and vanished into the atmosphere. However, the two young men who had drawn their swords pretended not to hear Elham. They thrust their swords swiftly, the blades sinking deep into the chests of two Black Spirit men.
The two Black Spirit men, who possessed astonishing strength, did not dodge. They watched as the swords pierced their chests, blood gushing out rapidly along the blood grooves on the blades. They stood upright and unmoving, like two great black mountains, unshaken by wind or rain.
The two young men who had struck with their swords froze for a moment. Staring at the five Black Spirit men whose expressions remained unchanged while tears continued to flow, they suddenly felt a chill in their hearts. Cautiously, they withdrew their swords, stepped back slowly, and positioned themselves protectively beside the young man in robes.
Elham paid no attention to what was happening here; he didn’t care about the Black Spirit men’s lives. He carefully placed the disheveled Ya and Ling, whose bodies were mostly exposed, on the sofa. His face twitched as he looked at the gruesome wounds on their bodies.
There was a knife wound on their backs that had nearly split them open. Additionally, they had been injured by Heavy Crossbow bolts, especially Ya, whose lower abdomen was pierced, blood continuously flowing out. However, one could sense a powerful Combat Qi lying dormant near their wounds. It was this Combat Qi that had stopped most of the bleeding, allowing them to survive until now.
Elham did not cast another glance at the five Black Spirit men, even though he knew it was their Combat Qi that had saved the two women’s lives.
He simply took out a small vial from an inner pocket. The vial was about the thickness of a bean and only as long as a little finger. He smiled at Arthur and said, “It’s alright. As long as they’re still alive, they can be saved. This is the Divine Source Potion, a treasure bestowed upon us by the Deity.”
Carefully opening the vial, Elham tilted it and dripped a drop of a crystal-clear, viscous liquid, like melted crystal, onto the foreheads of Ya and Ling. A faint, refreshing fragrance spread through the air, and the liquid emitted a gentle life force that continuously radiated outward. This life force was so powerful it almost felt tangible, making Arthur nearly lose his balance.
A soft light enveloped Ya and Ling.
