Chapter 144: Ancestral Spirit (2)
Chapter 144: Ancestral Spirit (2)
Su Lun activated his Domain, and ordinary people could no longer approach the battlefield at all.
“Roar!”
The Troll roared at the sky. Because a large number of the tribe’s members had died, this was a huge blow to the Ancestral Spirit. The Ancestral Spirit and the tribe depended on each other for survival.
If the tribe’s population died out, then the Ancestral Spirit, having lost its Priest and followers, would gradually weaken. If it did not find a tribe willing to worship it in time, it would soon vanish completely. Su Lun’s actions were completely cutting off the Ancestral Spirit’s roots.
“Boom!”
The heavy axe crashed down, and it seemed even the earth shook. Su Lun did not retreat. With a tap of his toe, his body surged forward. The Purple Dragon Halberd was now completely enveloped in Lightning Glow. Su Lun swung the Purple Dragon Halberd, striking the Ancestral Spirit directly.
The Lightning Glow and the protective Energy Force Field on the Ancestral Spirit’s body collided fiercely. This time, the Purple Dragon Halberd successfully tore through the Energy Force Field and smashed heavily into its body.
Boom.
Lightning Glow burst out in all directions, and a muffled thunderclap exploded in the camp. The Troll possessed by the Ancestral Spirit was sent flying over ten meters, crashing through a wooden fence. Enveloped in Lightning Glow, the attached paralyzing effect left it unable to stand up immediately. Then, with a flash of lightning, Su Lun appeared beside the Ancestral Spirit. Not giving it a chance to fight back, he thrust the Purple Dragon Halberd directly into the Ancestral Spirit’s heart.
Even though the Troll Ancestral Spirit had no vital points, he did not believe such an injury would have no effect on it. Even healing the wound would consume energy.
The Purple Dragon Halberd pierced through the Energy Force Field and then plunged straight into its chest. The armor on the Troll offered no resistance and was penetrated directly. The nearly one-foot-long spear tip pierced its heart. But to Su Lun’s surprise, no blood flowed out. The Ancestral Spirit’s power had caused some strange changes to this Troll’s body.
“Roar!”
The Ancestral Spirit Troll, having regained movement, ignored the wound in its chest and swung its axe in a full circle towards Su Lun.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The sound of violent collisions rang out. With each clash between the two, large amounts of lightning burst forth. The surrounding Trolls and Gnolls were directly electrocuted into charcoal by this lightning. The fierce struggle was like a storm. The surroundings looked as if an earthquake had occurred, with cracks everywhere on the ground and all the fences collapsed.
The Purple Dragon Halberd swept horizontally, Lightning Glow flashing. The huge recoil force caused both to retreat several steps. As soon as it steadied itself, the Ancestral Spirit Troll charged forward again, its heavy Two-Handed Axe swinging towards Su Lun’s face with immense force.
As Su Lun steadied himself, he also moved. His right leg burst upward, enveloped in a large amount of Lightning Glow, kicking diagonally upwards precisely at the Troll’s wrist. His right hand tightly gripped the Purple Dragon Halberd. A cold glint arrived first, then the spear shot out like a dragon.
“Thud!”
A dull sound.
Su Lun felt the cold axe blade sweep past his face. Then, the Troll let out an angry roar. The Purple Dragon Halberd had directly pierced one of the Troll’s eyes. Dodging the axe with a sidestep, Su Lun immediately flipped sideways away.
That previous move was completely the Ancestral Spirit Troll’s plan to trade injury for injury. It could ignore its wounds, but Su Lun could not.
Su Lun grinned, his eyes showing no fear. The Ancestral Spirit Troll had lost an eye, thanks to the Purple Dragon Halberd. Seeing Su Lun’s expression, the Ancestral Spirit Troll grew even angrier. By this point, both sides had begun to fight desperately.
Su Lun’s figure moved as he directly lunged forward. Accompanied by an angry roar, the great axe swept across. Su Lun swung his halberd horizontally, lightning bursting forth. A tremendous force transmitted from the weapon, but the Ancestral Spirit Troll ignored it, enduring the omnipresent lightning damage to trade injury for injury with Su Lun.
In the chaos, Su Lun gritted his teeth and fiercely threw a knee strike. The Troll was not weak either, directly punching back. The man and the Troll collided like two trains, then both tumbled back.
“Wrath of Thunder!”
A bolt of lightning struck down from the sky, hitting the Purple Dragon Halberd directly. The Lightning Glow already surrounding the Purple Dragon Halberd became even more dazzling and bright. The three-meter-long Purple Dragon Halberd looked completely like a Lightning Spear formed of lightning.
Su Lun swung the Purple Dragon Halberd and charged forward fiercely. A frightening energy instantly erupted. Streaks of lightning danced wildly. The lightning on the Purple Dragon Halberd exploded the moment it touched the enemy. The powerful lightning force directly shattered the Energy Force Field on the Ancestral Spirit Troll’s body.
The lightning power, accumulated to its peak, instantly burst out. The Ancestral Spirit Troll’s body became covered in charred marks, and its body stiffened. Immediately, the Purple Dragon Halberd swung back in a spinning sweep. The sharp crescent-moon blade tore through its skin and slashed directly at its neck.
The Ancestral Spirit Troll’s neck was mostly severed. Recovering from the stiffened state, its scarred arm gripped the lightning-enveloped halberd, preventing the Purple Dragon Halberd from completely beheading it. The powerful Lightning Glow instantly charred its arm black.
Just as Su Lun prepared to retract the halberd for another sweep, the Ancestral Spirit Troll before him suddenly let out an ear-splitting roar!
“War Roar!”
A sound wave mixed with strange energy swept directly across. Su Lun felt a ringing in his ears, and his whole body froze for an instant. A dizzy feeling surged in his mind. This roar was like a tidal wave, rapidly expanding outward from the Ancestral Spirit Troll as the center.
Wherever it passed, it was an indiscriminate assault. Both sides in the midst of fighting saw stars, their bodies stiffening. Those closer even had blood flowing from their ears and noses.
Su Lun felt dizzy and muddled, then managed to shake off that state. Although it was only for a moment, it still left him with a splitting headache. He was the closest to the Ancestral Spirit Troll, so he basically endured the strongest sonic attack. If Su Lun weren’t physically strong and had various status boosts, he definitely wouldn’t have weathered it so easily.
However, even though he was only dazed for an instant, in a fight between experts, that moment could be seized. Su Lun, having just regained clarity, had no time to dodge the Ancestral Spirit Troll’s attack. He could only cross his arms to block it. The huge force directly sent Su Lun flying several meters away.
His arms felt sore and swollen, but they weren’t broken. After suffering continuous serious injuries, the Troll Ancestral Spirit’s energy was severely depleted. Its aura had weakened considerably, and it hadn’t even healed the wound on its neck.
When the enemy is weak, take its life. Having put in so much effort, Su Lun did not plan to let his previous work go to waste. Although the recent fight had consumed a lot, clearly his condition was much better than that Ancestral Spirit Troll’s.
Su Lun grinned, his figure charging forward again. He reached out his arm and picked up the Purple Dragon Halberd once more. Powerful Lightning Glow instantly enveloped it. Without any fancy moves, it was all direct, hard clashes. He raised the Purple Dragon Halberd and swept it horizontally.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!”
Lightning Glow burst violently, electric snakes danced, and the whole world seemed illuminated. The two exchanged blows continuously, energy bursting forth. But this time, the Ancestral Spirit finally couldn’t hold on. Under Su Lun’s relentless attacks, it continuously crumbled.
