Chapter 111: Frost Wyvern
Chapter 111: Frost Wyvern
Luckily, the damage caused by the Frost Wyvern was not too great. All the refugees hid inside the rooms. Although many slaves had escaped, the Barbarian Guard quickly took control of the situation.
“Besides two refugees who died, thirteen others were injured in the territory. Nine were injured from being blown over by the strong wind and falling, two had sprains, and two were injured from being trampled…” A staff member reported the casualties in the territory to Su Lun.
“I see. What about those slaves?” Su Lun nodded and asked another person.
“Lord, forty-three slaves escaped. The remaining slaves were locked in the slave camp. Twelve slaves who tried to escape were killed by the Barbarian Guard.”
“Stop work for today. Let them rest for a day to recover. They can resume work tomorrow. Also, give them a richer meal for dinner.” Su Lun thought for a moment and gave the order.
“As for the refugees, do the same. Send someone to comfort the families of the dead and give them some compensation.”
“Also, build a watchtower immediately. Two soldiers must be on it at all times to watch the sky. If they spot any enemy, they must sound the alarm right away.”
“The Militia must maintain order. When they hear the alarm, they must get people to safety as quickly as possible.”
“Assign people to guard those Ballistas. If more wyverns or other creatures invade, be ready to attack immediately.”
Su Lun gave them tasks in an orderly way. He set up a warning system to prevent another surprise attack by wyverns. He also arranged for people to stay near the Ballistas, ready to attack at any time.
After arranging everything, Su Lun finally relaxed a little and let everyone go about their work.
“Master, are you planning to go after those Frost Wyverns?” Chris came over holding a cup of black tea.
“Yes.” Su Lun took the tea and drank a sip.
“Su Lun, you’re not really planning to slay a dragon, are you?” Heatherway, who was nearby, adjusted her glasses and said in surprise.
“If we don’t deal with them, should we let these wyverns treat my territory as their hunting ground?” Su Lun said with a dark expression. Slaying a dragon was not easy. Even a Lesser Dragon was not simple to kill, not to mention a flying wyvern.
“Master, are you confident? I’ll go with you.” Chris came behind Su Lun, placed her hands on his shoulders, and gently massaged them. Su Lun’s head naturally leaned back, resting on that ample pair of softness.
“The territory needs you to look after it. I wouldn’t feel at ease without you watching over things.” Su Lun closed his eyes and said with a pleased expression.
“Then let Heatherway go with you, and also Johnson and Aydin.”
“What would they do? Hold me back?” Su Lun curled his lip and said.
“Hmph, who are you saying holds people back?” Heatherway said angrily.
“You, that’s who. You just became an Intermediate Wizard. Have you even learned all your spells yet?” Su Lun glanced at her large chest and thought to himself that this girl was developing quite quickly.
“Hmph, Frost Wyverns can fly. Can you fly?” Heatherway looked at Su Lun and said. The issue of flight still gave Su Lun a headache. Although he was powerful, he could not fly… Chris could fly, and she was quite fast. Should he let Chris act as a mount and carry him flying?
Intermediate Wizards could also fly, although the flight speed of that spell was not very fast.
“Your Fly spell is too slow, and you’d become an easy target for those Frost Wyverns once you’re in the air.” Su Lun shook his head and said.
“I can help you shoot those wyverns down.” Heatherway said proudly.
“Frost Wyverns are ice-type Lesser Dragons. Fire spells can deal one and a half to two times more damage to them. Also, these wyverns don’t have Dragon Scales on their bodies. If they get hit, even if they don’t lose the ability to fly, their speed and altitude will drop significantly.”
“What you say makes sense, but it’s too dangerous. You don’t have strong self-protection abilities. If those wyverns target you, you won’t even be able to escape.” Su Lun was somewhat tempted but still shook his head and refused. He didn’t want his trained girl to die.
“Hmph, how do you know I don’t have self-protection abilities?” Heatherway wrinkled her nose, took out a small, delicate wand, and tapped it on the table.
Su Lun became interested. This girl loved showing off every time she learned a new spell. “What spell have you learned now?”
“Of course, watch closely.” Heatherway lifted her head, her pretty face full of pride. She waved her wand gently. To Su Lun’s surprise, a flash of light passed, and Heatherway suddenly disappeared.
“Invisibility?”
“This isn’t just Invisibility. I also cast a spell to erase traces. Not only is my body invisible, but even my scent and footprints disappear. Unless I attack or the invisibility spell is broken, those Frost Wyverns won’t find me.” Heatherway’s voice echoed in the room. Strangely, Su Lun couldn’t locate her position by her voice.
“Hehe, trying to find my position by sound? I used ventriloquism. You can’t find me.” Heatherway said proudly.
Su Lun looked around the room but indeed found no trace. There was no scent of her in the air either, as if she had truly vanished into thin air. Just then, Su Lun suddenly felt a pain on his scalp—a strand of his hair was pulled out.
“Can’t find me, can you?” Heatherway’s proud voice sounded again in the room. Su Lun could already imagine her triumphant expression now.
Unable to see Heatherway with his eyes, Su Lun directly opened the System map. He zoomed in on the room he was in. The map clearly marked the positions of all three of them. After glancing at the map, Su Lun knew where she was hiding. He stood up and pretended to search around the room.
Just as Heatherway was about to pull another prank, Su Lun suddenly turned around and grabbed her: “Now you can’t run away.”
Caught by Su Lun so suddenly, Heatherway didn’t react at all. “How did you find me?”
Heatherway looked at Su Lun with surprise.
“Not bad spellwork. I agree you can come with me.” Su Lun nodded and said.
“You still haven’t told me how you found me.” Heatherway pressed.
“That’s a secret.”
“Tch, fine, don’t tell me then. Who cares?” Heatherway snorted lightly and turned her head away, but her small, pale ears were perked up.
Since he had decided to slay the dragon, Su Lun began preparing the tools needed for dragon slaying. Fortunately, this was a wyvern. Although its body was tough, it lacked Dragon Scales, so its defense was much lower. Even so, hunting such a monster would not be easy.
Su Lun needed to prepare some things to limit their flying ability. If it came to close combat, Su Lun was confident he could kill those wyverns.
