Chapter 306: Kill the Demons!
Chapter 306: Kill the Demons!
The sudden strangeness made everyone freeze.
“What happened?”
Not just the humans, but even the demons stopped. They all looked around, unsure what was going on.
“Boom…”
Green Mountain shook! The Desolate Plain trembled!
The usually calm Yu Xuan beside Chen Changsheng suddenly stood up.
She looked into the distance, then turned her gaze back to Chen Changsheng.
Chen Changsheng looked at her.
He met Yu Xuan’s eyes and said: “Seems you won’t get what you want.”
Yu Xuan frowned. “What’s the point? Even if you make it through this time, next time will come. I don’t believe you can stay here forever!”
Chen Changsheng just smiled kindly. He didn’t answer.
But Yu Xuan suddenly sighed.
She stared at him, confusion filling her eyes. She didn’t understand what he was thinking.
On the Desolate Plain.
The piled mountains of corpses and seas of blood were suddenly pulled by the formation. Their flesh energy rushed towards Mu Cang.
Seeing this, the Demon Race panicked.
“Kill him! Kill that man!”
The humans snapped back to attention. Over ten Cultivators charged forward first.
“Protect the Chieftain!”
“Kill!!”
This time, the demons held nothing back. Like mad things, they threw themselves against the human ranks.
Blades flashed, claws slashed, fangs gleamed. Life or death hung on each moment.
The Blood Sea and Essence Qi from every fallen corpse flowed towards the formation.
Mu Cang now sat inside this Formation Array, pulling the Blood Qi into his body.
But suddenly, a huge rush of Blood Qi crashed into him.
“Ahh!!”
Mu Cang screamed in pain.
This suffering was a hundred, no, a thousand times worse than what happened on the City Platform!
His Meridians ripped apart under the thick Blood Qi. Then, driven by his stubborn will, they knit back together.
This happened again and again. His Meridians grew thicker. The Blood Qi inside him began to flow.
What Song Gudao had left him was the Formation Diagram of the City Platform’s great array. For generations, each Chieftain had guarded it.
What Mu Cang did now was use the power from everyone who died on that plain to build strength strong enough to fight an Eighth-Realm Great Demon. That might turn the tide.
But even with the Formation Array ready, bearing this tide of Blood Qi wasn’t easy.
“One night!!”
Mu Cang clenched his teeth. “I need one night!”
A Cultivator from the Divine Domain saw Mu Cang’s tortured face. Deep respect filled his heart.
“Leave it to us.”
This time, everyone fought with everything they had, shielding the Formation Core.
“My comrades! Human survival hangs by a thread! Are you ready to give everything?”
“What is there to fear?”
“What is there to fear?!”
“Crush these monsters! Kill them!”
The Cultivators and warriors on the plain looked fierce, mad. One after another, they charged forward.
“These humans… have they all gone mad?”
Facing this fierce human attack, the demons grew jittery, chaotic.
Now, true chaos began.
Lu Qishan watched this, frowning. Her eyes went to the Formation Core the humans shielded.
She glanced at the formation drawn in blood on the ground. “Destroy the formation!” she yelled.
She leaped, sending out Demonic Power. A section of the formation on the ground was wiped out.
“Demon! How dare you!”
A Cultivator attacked, forcing Lu Qishan back with one sword stroke.
Under her gaze, the Cultivator swiped his own arm, leaving a bloody line. His blood dripped onto the erased part, filling it in again.
Lu Qishan frowned softly. “I wonder just how much blood you have to spill!”
“All demons! My order!” she commanded. “Wipe out the bloody lines of their formation!”
At her words, all demon eyes turned on the bloody line the humans protected.
“Kill!!!”
Countless demons hurled themselves at it.
Seeing this, the human Cultivators felt a jolt. Orders rang out.
“Stop these beasts!”
“If the line breaks, slash your palms! Fill the gap with your own blood!”
Over the next half day, the demons attacked again and again. The blood line broke often. But each time, humans would slash their own hands, using their blood to seal the gap.
“Skchk!”
A claw pierced a Swordsman’s chest.
“Monster!!”
The Swordsman gnashed his teeth, but his sight blurred.
With his last breath, he swept his sword across his arm, slicing open a long cut.
“I won’t let you beasts win!”
He dropped onto the fading blood line. His arm, from shoulder to wrist, pressed into the gap.
The Swordsman seemed to relax. Then his strength vanished, and he bowed his head.
But his arm, cut and bleeding, still stubbornly protected the fading line.
By dawn, corpses piled over the blood line. Even dying, they chose to shield the line. It was like a short, grim wall built from bodies.
Chen Changsheng’s eyes watched far away. He seemed to see these scenes unfold – each one tragic, grim.
He sighed softly, turning to Yu Xuan. “You have lost.”
Yu Xuan offered no argument.
In her eyes lived images of the piled corpses on the plain.
She felt complex. Deep in her gaze, many thoughts seemed to swirl. No one knew what she truly thought.
“You cannot kill me,” Yu Xuan said quietly. “There will be a next time…”
Chen Changsheng said: “You still don’t see.”
She looked at him. He went on: “Even without me, you might not have won this round.”
“Humans triumphing over fate… it is not impossible.”
As Chen Changsheng’s words faded.
A column of Blood Qi exploded into the sky from the Desolate Plain.
Mu Cang’s clothes shattered into shreds. His power soared, breaking through Eighth Realm.
“Chieftain…”
A Cultivator knelt on the ground, seeing that sight. He sighed, seemed to relax, then used his last strength and fell.
Mu Cang’s gaze swept the demon horde.
He raised his spear.
He swept it forward.
A wave of energy burst out. In an instant, hundreds, nearly a thousand demon beasts died by that spear.
Mu Cang gripped his spear tight. He roared: “With me! Kill the demons!!”
Where his spear passed, the demon ranks tore open. Their formation broke. Seeing their chance, the warriors and Cultivators charged deeper.
The tide turned! Defense became an attack!
Mu Cang, spear in hand, cut into the demon horde. He didn’t pause. Hatred filled his eyes.
And the burning goal: wipe the Demon Race from the world!
“Kill the Demons! Make them pay!”
