Chapter 274: Sword Shatters Lightning Tribulation, Palm Seizes Heaven and Earth
Chapter 274: Sword Shatters Lightning Tribulation, Palm Seizes Heaven and Earth
Tu Hu swore aloud.
Right then, he felt running farther away would be better. Otherwise, he might die alongside Chen Changsheng before Heaven and Earth had their turn to end him.
As this dark thought crossed his mind, the thunderclouds overhead suddenly trembled.
A faint gleam flickered in Chen Changsheng’s eyes.
“Here it comes!”
Heavenly Thunder crashed down, transforming into a Purple Heaven Thunderbolt.
This Purple Heaven Thunderbolt lit up the entire Demon Realm, as if coating the heavens and earth in a hazy purple-gray. The crackling thunder roared, filling every ear.
Some nearby Demons witnessing this clasped their hands over their ears.
But they still underestimated this Heavenly Tribulation.
“Aaah!!”
Screams rose from beyond the Thirty-Six Caves. Countless Monsters bled from their ears. In an instant, all sound around them faded away.
Deaf!
“CRACK!!”
Yet after this Purple Firmament descended, Heaven and Earth seemed to regret it.
Chen Changsheng gripped the Taiqing Immortal Sword tightly. He held it horizontally before him. Facing the descending Purple Heaven Thunderbolt, he opened his mouth.
“Like a Dream!”
One sword step shattered the river of time, slashing towards that Purple Firmament.
Chen Changsheng’s figure suddenly leaped upward. In the fierce wind, his hair streamed back.
Dozens of strands floated free, coalescing with Golden Light.
Gathering together, they formed a giant hand grasping towards the layer of thunderclouds.
“Come… to me!”
Sword Qi surged forth, meeting the Lightning Tribulation.
Magical Power manifested as a palm, seizing the lingering traces of the Heavenly Dao within the thunderclouds.
“BOOM!!”
A shockwave erupted from the Ninth Peak.
In merely a split second, that vibration shattered thousands of grotto-abodes across the Thirty-Six Caves. The Azure Heaven flickered. The earth quaked.
It was on the verge of collapse!
‘What is he doing?’
Lu Qishan’s heart seized in shock, her bright eyes widening to their limit.
She saw that giant Golden Light hand trying to grasp Heaven and Earth itself into its palm.
One sword like a dream, shattering time, cleaving the Purple Firmament.
An outrageous idea suddenly sprouted in Lu Qishan’s mind. She felt instantly plunged into an icy cellar, shocked by this man’s audacity!
Yet under that palm and sword, the strange disturbances within Heaven and Earth died down almost instantly.
Pat.
Billowing thunderclouds dissipated like flowing water.
The Purple Firmament fragmented, shattered by the Sword Qi.
A sound like breaking seemed to echo through Heaven and Earth, as if something vital within the world had been lost.
Chen Changsheng frowned.
The Heavenly Dao aura vanished from his sight in the blink of an eye.
A few wisps of the Power of Heavenly Dao were trapped by the Magical Power palm, unable to escape.
“Got away…”
Chen Changsheng sighed faintly and landed.
Instantly, the dark clouds dispersed. Brightness returned to the world. Looking around, not a cloud marred the sky.
Thunder vanished. Wind ceased.
After meeting Chen Changsheng, Tu Hu had harbored many guesses.
He’d seen many Cultivators from other regions, but never one like Chen Changsheng. Only after being defeated did he understand there were heavens beyond heavens, and stronger people beyond this world.
And when Chen Changsheng spoke of heaven’s destruction, Tu Hu suddenly felt the path of Cultivation was vast as oceans. Foggy enlightenment dawned on why Cultivators in the Mortal World sought the Dao.
But after witnessing that single sword and palm today, he truly found it hard to calm down.
“Heaven and Earth… retreated…”
Cultivators could be so powerful!!
This utterly overturned Tu Hu’s whole definition of Cultivators.
The seed of wanting to leave this world sprouted rapidly in his heart.
This time, Chen Changsheng had lost thirty-nine strands of hair. Including previous losses, only about forty strands remained. The loss was truly massive.
Though wildly defiant atop the Ninth Peak, he had faced a genuine Heavenly Tribulation.
After blocking the Purple Heaven Thunderbolt, the Blood Fiend Energy within the Taiqing Sword was over half depleted. It fell into a deep slumber, unknown when it might wake.
At least there was some gain.
Chen Changsheng counted. That palm had seized eight wispy strands of the Power of Heavenly Dao.
Though the main entity escaped, these eight strands had essentially flayed a layer off Heaven and Earth. It shouldn’t cause any major trouble any time soon.
And Chen Changsheng’s sword had leveled thirteen mountains within the Demon Realm, killing tens of thousands of Demons. This caused the top-tier power structure of the Demon Realm to collapse. Unable to match the Divine Domain’s strength, a gap was torn open. What came next? It was down to Providence.
Chen Changsheng sighed softly. He glanced down at the Taiqing Sword, then walked towards the dungeons.
Qing Tianyou, barely recognizable and grievously wounded, gazed weakly at Chen Changsheng. He parted his lips, wanting to say something.
Chen Changsheng raised his sword and severed the dungeon lock.
Clang.
He channeled a breath of Magical Power into Qing Tianyou’s body.
Only then did Qing Tianyou feel slightly better.
Qing Tianyou gasped softly for breath. He looked at the blood stains on Chen Changsheng’s face and momentarily found no words to speak.
The man and the Demon followed each other out to the summit of the Ninth Peak.
Qing Tianyou clutched his chest. Looking down, he saw the corpses of dozens of Great Demons.
After a brief stunned silence, he raised his head.
Before his eyes lay a scene of…
…utter ruin!
He turned stiffly to look at the Blue-Robed Cultivator standing beside him.
He was bewildered.
He never expected such a changed landscape upon their reunion.
As the man and the Demon descended the mountain…
The critically injured Ninth Peak could hold on no longer. With a rumble like thunder, it collapsed into ruins. This fallen giant became the burial ground for those dozens of Great Demons.
After this event, the Demon Realm fell into deep silence.
Tu Hu took charge of the Thirty-Six Caves once more. Acting swiftly and decisively, he ordered the sealing of all border areas. No news of today was permitted to leak. Not a single bird should be allowed to fly out.
Then came repairs. Tu Hu, rarely participating personally, gathered the remaining twenty-one Demon Kings to discuss matters. None dared slack off.
Next was the matter of the Toad Demon King.
He had fled and likely wouldn’t dare return. But Tu Hu couldn’t rest easy. As Chen Changsheng suggested, this Toad Demon King was probably a discarded pawn of the Heavenly Dao. But alive, he could cause unforeseen trouble.
Thus, Tu Hu secretly ordered the search for the Toad Demon King throughout the Demon Realm, aiming to root out the problem.
Tu Hu felt a headache building. Chen Changsheng just wiped his hands and left, leaving this massive mess for him to manage, forcing him to keep up the façade.
Bai Ziqiu saw Chen Changsheng returning with a Monster slung over his shoulder.
He glanced. “Is this the Azure Eagle you mentioned?”
Qing Tianyou lay on the ground. His injuries were severe, and some poison remained within him.
Shortly after leaving the Thirty-Six Caves, Qing Tianyou had passed out again. Chen Changsheng had carried him all the way back.
“His wounds are heavy,” Chen Changsheng said. “I plan to let him recuperate with you for a few days.”
Bai Ziqiu replied, “Easy enough. But these injuries…”
“Chen can heal him,” Chen Changsheng said firmly.
“Good.” Bai Ziqiu nodded, relieved of that burden.
He shifted his gaze back. “By the way, what exactly did you do back in the Thirty-Six Caves?”
Chen Changsheng answered simply: “Flattened a few peaks.”
“Flattened peaks? What does that mean?”
Bai Zigiu didn’t quite understand.
Chen Changsheng stated plainly, “Words mean what they mean.”
He offered no further explanation. Instead, he yawned. “I’m weary. Chen needs to rest a while.”
Bai Ziqiu watched his retreating figure and shook his head, asking no more questions.
Whatever happened was no small matter. Otherwise, how could such huge commotions arise?
