Chapter 37: A Senior Schoolmate

“Heh, I didn’t ‘come out’ from anywhere. I’m actually a student here.”

Lin Mu smiled slightly. He saw no point arguing with a drunk. He gave a look to the three girls, and they immediately turned to leave.

“Hey! A student at Donghai? Can’t be possible that anyone here doesn’t know me! I absolutely refuse to believe that!”

Xing Weilong gave a strange laugh. His fat hand reached out trying to grab Lin Mu’s collar, but he failed. Ye Zixi darted beside Lin Mu. Her right hand shot up and clamped down on that “pig’s trotter.”

“Fatty, what are you trying to do?”

Though Ye Zixi’s hand was small, her strength wasn’t. Skilled in Martial Arts, she wasn’t someone Xing Weilong, an ordinary person, could resist. With just a tiny bit of force applied, he couldn’t take it anymore.

Xing Weilong, born with a golden spoon, couldn’t endure any hardship or pain. His hand was stabbed by intense agony, and he instantly let out a shrieking cry.

Seeing their boss cornered, the lackeys across the street thought things had gone too far. Immediately, they swarmed across.

Upon arriving, they discovered it was Ye Zixi putting Xing Weilong in his place. They sheepishly stepped back, grinning uneasily, and began greeting her with deep, polite bows.

“It’s actually Miss Ye! What a coincidence!”

“Yes, truly a coincidence! Meeting you here! Such fate!”

Ye Zixi gave them an annoyed look. Very few decent people followed around Xing Weilong. She shoved hard, pushing Xing Weilong aside roughly.

“Lin Mu is my friend. It’s best you don’t get any ideas about him. Otherwise… you know the consequences.”

With a look of complete contempt at the group, she left proudly with her friends.

“What background does that fatty have? You all seem to know him?” Lin Mu turned back curiously. Xing Weilong and some lackeys still stood by the roadside, unclear what they were doing.

“Xing Weilong is a typical spoiled young master,” Song Yuru said disgustedly. “Has a lot of lackeys. His family paid to get him a diploma at Donghai University. A complete piece of trash.”

“Even so, with his family background, he wouldn’t dare cause real trouble in school, right? The school has its rules. If nobody followed them, things would be chaos, wouldn’t they?”

Lin Mu laughed heartily.

“You might’ve forgotten, but Xing Weilong’s fights at school weren’t just once. He never got punished. The school leadership never questioned it. That’s how he dare acts without restraint, knowingly.”

Song Yuru shook her head, sighing softly.

Watching their departing figures, Xing Weilong choked with anger. Publicly embarrassed by a woman in front of his lackeys—his face was thoroughly ruined.

“You little bastards! Usually acting so high and mighty! Bragging you can practically fly! Today when I’m humiliated, none of you dared breathe a word!”

“You, you! And you even dared grinning at her and saying hello! Did she even acknowledge you?! How utterly infuriating!”

“From now on, if anyone dares show off in front of me, I will personally flay them alive!”

Xing Weilong trembled from head to toe, his flabby fat layers jiggling like waves.

“Brother Long, you know what Ye Zixi’s like! Even if all of us charged her at once, we wouldn’t stand a chance against one hand of hers! She’s trained!”

One lackey protested weakly.

“That’s right, Brother Long! Since she’s there, we’ll just wait for that guy on his own! We swear we’ll vent your fury on him tenfold!”

Another lackey thumped his chest in promise.

Slap!

Xing Weilong smacked the lackey’s head. “Beat it! That punk is mine! If he falls into my hands, I’m going to toy him to death!”

Fuming, he crawled into the Mercedes-Benz six-wheel off-roader parked by the street. Glaring at the dumbstruck lackeys, his anger boiled over. “Why are you idiots standing there?! Get in! I want to go to Imperial Dynasty!”

“Yes, right away, Brother Long!”

The men scrambled into the car, speeding off.

Imperial Dynasty was one of the top entertainment venues in Donghai City. All-inclusive services attracted endless customers. Zhao Ge earned its fame by being full of beauties.

Xing Weilong loved this place. Flush with money and never lacking women, he came here solely to unleash his rage. Every time he got humiliated outside, the unfortunate ladies at Imperial Dynasty suffered.

Today, his rage burned hotter. Disrespected by a group of women plus a ‘kept man’. He simply couldn’t stomach it. Charging into the venue bristling with danger, the ladies seeing his violent expression paled instantly.

But none could resist Xing Weilong’s cash. A few ladies steeled themselves and approached.

“Brother Long… you’re here.”

“Get the madam.”

Xing Weilong snarled.

“Yes, Brother Long. Please wait a moment.”

The ladies breathed a sigh of relief, scurrying off to find the madam.

Soon, a mature woman sashayed over, spotting Xing Weilong. “Why, it’s Brother Long! Where have you been lately? Didn’t come to support my little business?”

“Forget the crap, Sister He. It’s just been a week. Any new stuff today?” Xing Weilong cut her off roughly.

“How timely! Three new girls arrived. Want me to bring all of them?”

“Them all. I’ll be in my usual room.” Xing Weilong nodded, heading straight for the elevator. He had a long-term private room here.

It was the best VIP suite. The daily room charge alone was four thousand. Xing Weilong paid for three years outright, thus his demands were always met. Nothing more—nobody argued with such a big spender.

About ten minutes later, two young girls were led to Xing Weilong’s room. The newcomers were clearly nervous. Seeing Xing Weilong’s huge frame upon entering heightened their fear.

“Why are you frozen? Get over here quickly.”

Xing Weilong had rinsed off carelessly and lay shirtless on the bed. His chest bulges nearly sagged onto the mattress.

Watching the timid girls, his rage reignited. Nothing clicked today. Even relaxing with girls, he got stuck with fresh idiots.

The next morning, Xing Weilong woke to find both girls gone. Struggling to the headboard, he called his lackeys. Quickly, two entered, bearing breakfast and handing him a paper.

“What’s this?” Barely awake, Xing Weilong squinted then tossed it aside.

“Background on that guy we investigated yesterday,” one lackey offered.

“Is he connected? That powerful?” Xing Weilong flopped back down dismissively.

“Not massively. His family deals in antique collection. The Lin Family in Donghai City.”

“Pah! And I thought he was special! Just a minor family!” Xing Weilong sneered contemptuously. “Without those girls guarding him, I’d crush him instantly! You lot, find some men. Beat him badly. Almost dead? Fine. Just don’t kill him.” Waving them off, he yelled at their backs, “Out!”

Sitting in a breakfast shop opposite the school, Lin Mu happily slurped a 20-yuan noodle bowl. Pricey, but the broth tasted authentic, the noodles perfectly chewy.

Nearby, Xing Weilong arrived in his six-wheeler. A sharp-eyed lackey immediately spotted the noodles eater.

“Brother Long! It’s Lin Mu! And the girls aren’t with him!”

Smack!

Xing Weilong smacked his head. “Idiot! Did I ask about the girls?!”

Dammit! Speaking like that implied he feared them!

“Yes, yes, Brother Long, you’re right. What now?”

“Moron! Need me to teach you?!” Xing Weilong angrily struck him again.

“Understood, Brother Long!” Both driver and nearby lackey nodded, opened doors, and strode toward Lin Mu.

“Wait! Get back in!” Xing Weilong suddenly shouted. The lackeys paused, then scrambled back inside.

“What is it, Brother Long?”

“Don’t touch him. Something better…look!” Xing Weilong smirked darkly. Several people approached—those arrogant exchange students from South Korea.

Just as Lin Mu finished the noodles and walked out, Song Yuru and the two arrived driving their coupe.

“Lin Mu! Why didn’t you even murmur this morning? Leaving without saying a word!” Song Yuru called out. Behind her, Ling Xuanrong and Ye Zixi stepped from the coupe.

“Woke early. Heard ladies require beauty sleep. So…didn’t disturb. Left alone.” Lin Mu shrugged.

Fresh from waking, Ling Xuanrong’s cheeks still held a rosy flush. “You should at least have left a note!””I’m not three. Just some missing memories. Won’t get lost!” Lin Mu grinned, then asked curiously, “Yuru teaches here. Why you two?”

After dinner last night, some drinks had closed the distance.

“Don’t you know?” Ye Zixi bounced forward, hooking an arm over Lin Mu’s neck cheerfully. “We’re both your senior schoolmates! Postgrads now, rarely needed on campus.”

Their closeness made passing male students burn with envy.

“Dammit! Who’s that guy? Acquaintance with all those beauties?! Isn’t that Song, the knockout history prof?”

“So true! Nowadays, good cabbages all get spoiled by pigs!”

Hearts silently bled inside the crowd. Glaring with furious eyes, they tried to smite Lin Mu by sight alone.

Feeling hostile stares all around, Lin Mu broke out in sweat. He quickly hustled the girls through the school gate, vanishing within moments.
