“Good. Then please bear the hard work these next two days, President Luo. The earlier we leave New York, the safer we are.”

Upstairs, Luo Yuwen knocked on the study door and entered. “Uncle, you asked for me?”
“Yuwen, the signing issue has been resolved. Mr. Lin assisted us. We can complete all work within two days. Go tell your father; pack anything needed. Two days from now, we leave this place.”
Luo Huafu looked up at Luo Yuwen with a slight smile.
“Understood, Uncle. I’ll go prepare immediately.”
Luo Yuwen felt immense joy too. Leaving this place was finally happening. His days had been filled with constant fear, even avoiding leaving the manor, scared of some attack.
Watching Luo Yuwen leave, Luo Huafu felt a little relieved. Though this family migration had almost caused the Luo Family to fracture.
Though siblings had become enemies, his fourth brother was still willing to leave with him. Nephew Luo Yuwen had earned his appreciation because of this. After returning, it seemed he should elevate their status within the family.
After settling his thoughts, Luo Huafu lowered his head to tackle more paperwork, striving to arrange everything in the shortest time possible.
Back in his room, Lin Mu headed to the bathroom to remove the disguised facial mask. Even though this thing was the latest tech marvel with excellent breathability, having it on his face always felt somewhat uncomfortable. Nothing could match the ease of one’s own skin.
With the document problem solved, Lin Mu again became the most leisurely person within the Luo Manor. Everyone else was busy making plans, preparing meticulously. The Dragon Protection Corps members were also arranging retreat plans.
Lin Mu’s sudden actions had advanced the migration schedule by over a month and a half. So all of the Dragon Protection Corps’ original evacuation plans were scrapped. Everything needed to be readjusted.
The rest of that day passed within the Luo Family Manor amidst a busy yet peaceful atmosphere. The tense night faded too. When the sun rose on the second morning, all patrols breathed a sigh of relief. At least, no surprise attacks came.
Lin Mu privately felt puzzled. Logically, shouldn’t those people know they were getting ready to leave the United States? Shouldn’t they be rushing to stop them at all costs now? Could something be wrong on their end too?
After lunch, Lin Mu wandered alone into the courtyard. He lay down on a wicker swing chair, soaking up the sun. A Land Rover drove out from the underground garage. Security stopped it at the gate.
“The situation is tense. President Luo already said no one leaves the Luo Family Manor without important business. Please understand.”
The security guard declined to open the gate.
“Alright. Got it.”
Inside the Land Rover was Luo Yuwen. He understood the tense situation too. He sighed helplessly, about to turn the car back towards the garage, when Lin Mu suddenly appeared beside the vehicle.
“What’s up, Yuwen? Trying to go out at a time like this?”
Seeing Luo Yuwen’s dejected expression, Lin Mu was baffled. This kid had always been scared of dying. So why risk heading out now, when things were so tense? Had his personality changed overnight?
“Mr. Lin, we’re getting ready to leave soon. I’ve been stuck in the manor for ages. Haven’t seen my girlfriend in forever. I have no idea when we’ll be back after we leave… I wanted to see her. Ah!”
Luo Ywen sighed softly and shook his head.
“Girlfriend? Where is she?”
Ah, so that’s it, Lin Mu thought. A slight smile touched his lips. “She studies at the Media University. Probably in class today.”
“Is that so? How about I come with you? Managed to come overseas, haven’t even seen a university here yet. Heard U.S. college campuses have a great atmosphere. Wouldn’t mind checking it out.”
Lin Mu nodded, then glanced at the nearby security guard. “It’s fine. I’ll accompany Yuwen. We won’t be long.”
“With Mr. Lin along, certainly there’s no problem. Be safe on the road.”
The security guard recognized Lin Mu, knowing he was a formidable master. He quickly opened the manor gate, allowing them to depart.
“Thanks, Mr. Lin.”
Luo Yuwen shot Lin Mu, sitting in the passenger seat, a grateful smile. Sincerely thanking him. After all, the family was drowning in urgent matters. Yet Lin Mu was willing to accompany him just to see his girlfriend. Such a small, insignificant request demanded Lin Mu’s time. He definitely faced an angry lecture from his father later.
Ever since learning of Lin Mu’s extraordinary skills, everyone in the Luo Family held him in high respect. If even the Family Head treated him with deference, they naturally followed suit.
“Just a small thing. Besides, I actually wanted to see a U.S. university anyway. Experience the different culture.”
Lin Mu waved a dismissive hand. He lowered the window and rested his arm on the car door, turning to seemingly gaze with interest at the passing scenery. In truth, he was masking inner confusion.

“So it is you! I thought your back view looked familiar. Was walking Emily over to meet her boyfriend. Didn’t expect you’d be here too.”
Du Xiaoyue smiled. She wore light summer clothes that day: a white short-sleeve shirt and denim cutoffs. On her feet, blue flip-flops revealed smooth, rounded pink toes. Bright polished nails made her look lively and cute.
