Chapter 74: Let’s All Get Rich!
Chapter 74: Let’s All Get Rich!
One machine could earn thirty million a day; ten machines meant three hundred million Credit Points daily. And what about over a month?
Fatty Lei felt like he was about to go crazy. This was just incredible.
Fatty Lei knew energy could earn Credit Points, but he never imagined it could be earned like this.
Actually, all Dimensional Planes weren’t too different from Earth. Energy was the most critical thing. This was especially pronounced in Sci-Fi Series planes, where Energy was essentially the lifeblood of the World.
What Fatty Lei didn’t know was why his Energy sold for such a high price. Besides its high concentration, the most important factor was its extremely high grade.
Bruce hadn’t had time to explain this part clearly yet.
The Energy circulating within the Dimensional Trading System was broadly divided into ten grades. The price difference between each grade of Energy Crystal was enormous. And the Energy Bruce was set to harvest and process from Fatty Lei’s place was precisely the highest-grade type.
So the exorbitant price was really no surprise.
You see, a single fist-sized Special-Grade Energy Crystal could provide about ten days of Energy Consumption for an entire Planet inhabited by thirty billion beings! Such high-grade Energy… it simply had to be expensive…
Fatty Lei was completely unaware of this.
Of course, the price Bruce quoted was also very fair; he didn’t deceive Fatty Lei at all.
Here, it must be said that Fatty Lei’s luck wasn’t bad. At least the Bruce he encountered wasn’t some crafty swindler.
And Bruce encountering Fatty Lei was equally lucky for him.
Two honest folk finding each other – it really spoke to the wonder of Destiny.
“Because the Energy is so valuable, the equipment is extremely precise and also very bulky. This requires a lot of Credit Points just for the Transmission Fee. Plus, we’ll need a large team of Engineering Robots to assemble everything. All of that requires Credit Points too.”
Bruce slowly explained the details and costs to Fatty Lei.
“Look, the volume of one piece of equipment is about three thousand cubic meters. Calculating the System’s fee, that alone costs one hundred and fifty thousand Credit Points for Transmission. And we need ten machines.”
After hearing this, Fatty Lei thought it over. He decided it was still a great deal.
If they could solve the Transmission Fee problem, the investment could be recouped in just a single day.
Such a profitable deal wasn’t easy to find. The problem was, neither he nor Bruce had enough Credit Points on hand to cover the Transmission Fee.
“In the end, others get the bargain! Damn it!” Fatty Lei cursed silently.
“Master, Mr. Andrew will be here shortly.”
Just then, Wangcai contacted Andrew, giving him Fatty Lei’s location. Andrew immediately responded that he would come to meet Fatty Lei.
Naturally, Wangcai hadn’t disclosed Fatty Lei’s plans to Andrew. He only mentioned that his Master needed to discuss something with Andrew.
To Andrew now, Fatty Lei was essentially his ‘money-making’ machine. Whether Andrew did well or not depended entirely on Fatty Lei’s Farm. So, hearing that Fatty Lei wanted to see him, Andrew had every reason to rush over immediately.
“The friend arriving soon is my current business partner. We’re collaborating on farming. I handle the growing, he handles purchases and finding buyers,” Fatty Lei briefly explained his relationship with Andrew to Bruce.
Finally, Fatty Lei looked at Bruce and said, “He’s a trustworthy partner. We just need to see if he’s interested in this project of ours.” Fatty Lei couldn’t guarantee if Andrew would participate or if he even had enough Credit Points to invest.
But Bruce was quite hopeful and confident. He straightened up and shrugged his shoulders at Fatty Lei. “As long as he’s not a fool, he should get involved. This collaboration is amazingly profitable; the returns are simply too huge!”
Fatty Lei nodded silently. He knew Bruce was right.
Just hearing Bruce’s rough calculations earlier had already astonished Fatty Lei.
Three hundred million Credit Points profit a day. That was faster than robbery!
If this cooperation succeeded, buying a Warship would be child’s play.
Fatty Lei felt a little surge of excitement because, if he got a Warship, he could leave that horrible place! No more suffering!
But would Andrew agree to cooperate and cough up millions of Credit Points? Andrew himself wasn’t a high-level Merchant, so presumably, he didn’t have that many Credit Points on hand. If he spent that much, his account would likely be nearly empty. This was asking Andrew to bet his entire fortune! Did Andrew have that kind of boldness?
Surprisingly enough, Andrew did.
“DO IT!!!!”
BANG!
Unnatural redness flushed Andrew’s face as he slammed his fist excitedly on the table.
“If I don’t jump on this golden deal, Andrew is the biggest idiot!”
“So, best wishes for all of us to get rich! To celebrate our successful cooperation, how about we toast?” Fatty Lei proposed.
Andrew and Bruce both nodded enthusiastically, very much liking Fatty Lei’s suggestion.
After Andrew arrived, Fatty Lei skipped the small talk and got straight to the point. He laid out exactly why he wanted to see Andrew, while Bruce immediately began calculating the profits and explaining them to Andrew.
When Andrew learned he could join this huge deal just by paying the Transmission Fee using his Credit Points, he was indeed worried.
But considering that Fatty Lei was a straightforward guy who probably wouldn’t cheat him, and realizing the business offered enormous returns – “enormous” was an understatement; it was more like “super-beyond-profitable” –
just chasing this crazy payoff convinced Andrew he should definitely take the gamble.
Fatty Lei wasn’t surprised by Andrew’s reaction. A saying from his original World came to mind:
‘200% profit is enough to make people risk their lives.’
And this wasn’t some 200% profit; it was many, many times that.
Soon after, Fatty Lei, Andrew, and Bruce huddled together and settled their respective responsibilities and the profit-sharing plan.
“Mr. Andrew, you are responsible for paying the cross-Dimensional Plane fees. The Credit Points amount should be about three million. Any problem?” Fatty Lei asked the excited Andrew.
“Three million Credit Points is my entire fortune. But for this big deal, I think I can pay it!”
“Good, that part is entirely your responsibility. You only need to cover the fees; we’ll handle everything else. You just wait for your share later; it doesn’t require much effort on your part, see? Simple enough.”
Fatty Lei then turned to Bruce. “The cross-Dimensional Plane fee problem is solved. Now, for the things you need to do.” Bruce nodded solemnly and listened carefully to Fatty Lei’s instructions.
Although Andrew and Bruce were technically veterans compared to Fatty Lei in the Trading System, for some reason, they followed his plan without the slightest impatience.
It wasn’t that Fatty Lei possessed some magical charm that made them obey. It was because this kind of collaborative model didn’t exist within the Trading System.
Currently, the Merchants active in the Dimensional Trading Device mostly operated by exchanging goods for money on the spot. At best, it was a monopoly model – hoarding resources, hiking prices, and squeezing lower-level Merchants for profit.
But Fatty Lei’s arrival shattered that mold.
This model Andrew and Bruce had never heard before: “Collaboration.”
Since it was unheard of, they figured the best thing was to just listen to Fatty Lei’s plan. That was their basic thinking.
Moreover, Fatty Lei laid out his plan clearly and logically. To them, everything made perfect sense. That’s why they followed his arrangements without any argument.
Of course, everything boiled down to the profits.
“Brother Bruce, you are responsible for the equipment and those installation Engineering Robots. You need to find the best equipment, the absolute best Engineering Robots. No cutting corners!”
Bruce thumped his chest twice loudly. Bang! Bang! He assured Fatty Lei he would personally guarantee the quality at the highest standard.
“Once the equipment arrives at my side, I’ll get it running immediately. We aim to produce the goods tomorrow and sell them to earn our first batch of Credit Points.”
“After that, Brother Bruce, you must find customers to sell these Energy Crystals. Then, these Credit Points need to be split three ways and deposited into our accounts.”
Bruce nodded firmly.
“How do we three split it?”
Andrew cut in; this was what concerned him most.
Fatty Lei thought very seriously. “Bruce provided the equipment, he has to find the clients, and he handles the selling. So we need to give him a larger share.” Then Fatty Lei thought further: “Andrew is the big investor, so his share has to be fair enough to make him happy too.”
As for himself, Fatty Lei didn’t mind much. After all, this whole thing felt like winning the lottery. An incredible windfall.
Here, Fatty Lei only needed to contribute ideas; he didn’t have to spend a single Credit Point of his own.
So, Fatty Lei thought making any profit was fine.
Realizing this, Fatty Lei knew what to propose. He relaxed visibly, a smile spreading across his face.
“That’s easy. Let’s say Brother Bruce and Mr. Andrew each take forty percent profit. I’ll just take twenty percent. I don’t think you two will have any objection to this arrangement?”
Of course, both men readily agreed to this split. However, the suggestion that Fatty Lei only take twenty percent made them a little uncomfortable.
Andrew spoke up after a moment’s thought: “I have no problem with the split. But Brother Odin, only taking twenty percent… isn’t that unfair to you?” Bruce nodded vigorously beside him, fully agreeing with Andrew.
Fatty Lei waved a hand carelessly, appearing very magnanimous. “It’s no problem! Credit Points are endless. Besides, you two are doing the heavy lifting. You deserve the bigger shares!”
Fatty Lei’s attitude made Andrew and Bruce think he was truly someone worth befriending.
Andrew and Bruce exchanged a look. Bruce spoke first: “How about this: I’ll give up half a percentage of my share; Mr. Andrew can also give up half a percentage. Combine that one percent, and it all goes to Brother Odin.” Fatty Lei opened his mouth to decline, but Andrew cut him off: “I think this is a great idea! Don’t bother refusing!”
Andrew then said to Fatty Lei, “I know you are a man of integrity, someone who values loyalty. Andrew isn’t a mere credit-grubbing swindler either. So, please accept this. Just like you said, Credit Points are endless! If we collaborate well, huge piles of Credit Points are waiting for us in the future!!!”
“Right! Mr. Andrew speaks wisely! The three of us need to stick together and work hard! Earn Credit Points together!” Bruce added loudly.
Ding Dong!
“Gained Friendship with Sci-Fi Series Merchant Bruce, who has joined your faction.”
This worked?
Fatty Lei froze in stunned disbelief.
