Chapter 46: Return, Inspection.
Chapter 46: Return, Inspection.
“Doctor, the transaction can proceed.”
While Fatty Lei was chatting casually with Dr. Rogue, the beautiful Artificial Human No. 89 walked over and whispered to Rogue.
Rogue turned his head sideways and glanced at No. 89, his eyes showing a questioning look.
Understanding his meaning, No. 89 whispered softly, “Three thousand Credit Points have been transferred to the account.”
Rogue nodded, turned back, and extended his right hand. “Pleasure doing business.”
Fatty Lei also reached out and shook Rogue’s hand. “I look forward to our next transaction.”
Earlier, during their casual talk, Fatty Lei learned that some of Wangcai’s functions would only appear after his own level increased.
Fatty Lei understood this point clearly; he couldn’t rush things right now.
Food must be eaten bite by bite, and tasks must be done step by step. Only by building a solid foundation one step at a time could he soar high in the future.
The most important thing for Fatty Lei now was to expand his ‘Farm’ and further accumulate his Yuan Shi capital.
As for other problems…
He would deal with them later.
Withdrawing his hand, Fatty Lei stood up.
“It was a pleasure meeting you, Dr. Rogue. I think we will inevitably do business again in the future.”
Dr. Rogue also stood up, smiling as he looked at Fatty Lei and replied, “I also look forward to that. Business is more interesting when it’s done over the long term.”
After the two exchanged a few compliments, Fatty Lei prepared to take his leave.
“Since the transaction is complete, I will take my leave now.”
“Safe travels. I look forward to our next transaction.”
Wangcai, who was behind Fatty Lei, raised his hand and drew a line in the air.
A circular passage shimmering with a faint blue glow appeared there. “Master, everything is ready. We can go.”
Fatty Lei cupped his hands toward Rogue, then turned and walked into the faint blue circular passage.
Just as he stepped one foot inside, Fatty Lei suddenly stopped and turned back to ask a question.
“If I can provide some Gene samples, could you help me create corresponding life forms?”
Fatty Lei had a reason for asking this; he suddenly remembered that in the world he had crossed into, the Genes of the Xenomorphs and those Bugs might be useful.
If Rogue could crack the Genes of the Xenomorphs and Bugs to create new controllable life forms, wouldn’t that be even more useful for Fatty Lei?
“I can’t give you a definite answer right now, Mr. Odin, but you can provide the Genes, and I’ll research them,” Dr. Rogue replied.
Fatty Lei didn’t say anything, but his eyes showed confusion.
Rogue knew what Fatty Lei was puzzled about, so he smiled and said to him, “I didn’t give you a definite answer because every creature’s Gene is different. Moreover, these aren’t even from the same World; sometimes it’s simply impossible to crack them. That’s why I didn’t give you a definite reply. Please understand.”
“Oh~ I see. Now I understand,” Fatty Lei said, nodding with his body turned sideways. “I will send the Genes to you. If you manage to crack them, I’ll discuss cooperation with you in detail.”
After saying this, Fatty Lei turned and walked into the passage without looking back.
Wangcai quickly followed him inside.
After Fatty Lei and Wangcai both entered the passage, the faint blue glowing passage flashed a few times and then disappeared.
Staring at the empty space where the passage had vanished, Dr. Rogue muttered to himself, “I have a feeling that this guy’s luck is unusually good.” For some reason, Dr. Rogue always had this feeling.
Rogue felt that there was something indescribable about Fatty Lei. Even though it was their first meeting, this feeling was particularly strong.
As for why he felt this way, Rogue himself couldn’t explain.
But then again, as a cross-dimensional traveler, could you say Fatty Lei had no luck…
…
…
Exiting the Trading Space and returning to the Military Outpost’s Command Room, Fatty Lei turned to Wangcai and said, “Where are Rogue’s Artificial Humans?”
Wangcai pointed outside the Command Room and said to Fatty Lei, “Master, they’re all outside. The System delivered them earlier, but their awakening devices haven’t been activated yet.”
Fatty Lei immediately headed toward the Command Room’s exit. “Let’s go! Check out our subordinates. I finally have underlings now.”
Wangcai could tell that Fatty Lei was in a good mood.
In fact, Wangcai didn’t know that since Fatty Lei crossed into this World, he had been suffering from loneliness and fear. If not for his ability to self-regulate, he would have had a mental breakdown long ago.
These Artificial Humans gave Fatty Lei a greater sense of security.
At the very least, with three hundred Artificial Humans against a few dozen Xenomorphs or Bugs, Fatty Lei wouldn’t be as scared.
After all, Fatty Lei himself didn’t possess any great power, so he could only surround himself with more followers. Only this could make Fatty Lei stop feeling afraid.
This was also a form of self-comfort for Fatty Lei. These Artificial Humans themselves didn’t have powerful strength; it was just that their numbers were encouraging.
But in this Great Cosmic Era, three hundred Artificial Humans thrown in wouldn’t even make a splash.
However, let’s not forget that in this barren land, three hundred Artificial Humans already counted as a powerful armed force.
Because here, aside from Xenomorphs and Bugs, there were only those beasts Fatty Lei hadn’t seen yet.
After Fatty Lei walked out of the Command Room, he saw a large silver-white metal cabinet placed in the center of the Military Outpost’s drill ground.
The appearance of the metal cabinet made the originally spacious drill ground seem a bit crowded.
But Fatty Lei didn’t mind this; his main concern right now was those Artificial Humans.
“Where are the Artificial Humans?” Fatty Lei only saw a large metal cabinet, not the Artificial Humans.
“Master, the Artificial Humans are inside this cabinet,” Wangcai explained, scurrying up obsequiously.
“Hurry up and get them out. They’re my lifeline,” Fatty Lei said, a bit impatient.
And rightly so. These three hundred Artificial Humans were very important to Fatty Lei.
Besides guarding his ‘Farm,’ they could also eliminate those Xenomorphs and Bugs. When those Xenomorphs and Bugs appeared in the future, he and Wangcai wouldn’t have to lift a finger.
And Fatty Lei himself could finally sleep soundly, without waking up over ten times a night.
“Right away, Master. Please wait a moment. I’ll go activate the awakening program for these Artificial Humans right now, so they can get to work immediately,” Wangcai said, bowing and scraping to Fatty Lei before jogging over to the metal cabinet.
Fatty Lei saw Wangcai first wandering around the front of the metal cabinet, then walking to the side and pressing a button.
“Psssssshhhh~~~~~~”
White gas sprayed out from the bottom of the metal cabinet, and then the front cover opened on both sides.
Once the cover opened, Fatty Lei saw that the interior of the cabinet was divided into three layers. There were three long compartments on each side, neatly arranged with Artificial Humans, their eyes closed tightly.
A thin tube was inserted into the back of each Artificial Human’s head. The tube was filled with a red, sticky liquid. Every Artificial Human had one of these attached to the back of their head.
After Fatty Lei walked inside, he suddenly felt as if he had entered a slaughterhouse.
“Damn it!” Fatty Lei cursed under his breath. “Now I finally realize what’s off. These guys are all naked.”
Only then did Fatty Lei notice why he had felt something was wrong.
These Artificial Humans were very tall, basically around 1.9 meters. And their muscles were bulging; each one looked like an international bodybuilder.
Of course, these Artificial Humans weren’t wearing any clothes.
Fatty Lei’s eyes swept over them, and then he glanced down at a certain part of his own body.
Deeply stricken, Fatty Lei couldn’t help but mutter a curse against Dr. Rogue. “Why make that part of the Artificial Humans so big for no reason? It’s just discouraging.”
It seemed Fatty Lei was depressed by the impressive size of certain parts of the Artificial Humans.
Ignoring his deeply affected Master muttering to himself, Wangcai came over and asked quietly, “Master, should we activate the awakening program now?”
“Uh~ Ah~” Hearing this, Fatty Lei snapped out of it and tilted his head to look at Wangcai. “Alright, alright, wake them up now. After waking them, have them go to the Supply Depot to get military uniforms. Once armed, they should get to work immediately.” Fatty Lei was almost impatient.
These were his subordinates. In his original World, Fatty Lei was just an Otaku. When had he ever been able to command so many ‘people’?
Fatty Lei felt excited just thinking about it.
“Master, please wait a little longer. We can’t do it right away,” Wangcai said, not immediately starting the awakening program to wake the Artificial Humans.
“Hmm~~” Fatty Lei was surprised. “Why wait?”
Wangcai’s face was full of sycophantic expression as he looked at Fatty Lei and explained, “Master, we can’t rush now. I need to check their programs and also look at some data about these Artificial Humans.”
Fatty Lei nodded. “Well, even when you buy an appliance, you have to read the manual.” Then he waved his hand. “Go check the data on these Artificial Humans.”
After saying this, Fatty Lei suddenly remembered something and called out to Wangcai, who had already turned to go inside. “Wangcai, Rogue didn’t include any data manual. How are you going to check the data?”
Wangcai turned back, bowed to Fatty Lei, and said, “Master, actually, this cabinet itself is the manual. I just need to find the program port, and I can check it. Because my former Master seemed to have done business with that Rogue.”
“Oh, so that’s how it is,” Fatty Lei said, finally feeling reassured.
Wangcai walked to the far end inside the cabinet and saw an oval metal box hanging on the wall, flashing with a red light.
Wangcai took a few steps over, felt around on the box for a moment, and then with a ‘Click!’ sound, the central metal shell of the box sprung open.
When the metal shell opened, a finger-thick slot appeared there.
Wangcai’s right thumb twisted and morphed into a connector, which he inserted into the port to browse the manual data.
Streams of green digital code flashed continuously through Wangcai’s eyes. He already knew the data and some setup contents of these Artificial Humans.
After browsing the data, Wangcai retracted his right hand and restored it to its original shape.
“Master, the Loyalty Level of these Artificial Humans requires your Gene confirmation. And your Gene must be injected before we awaken them to ensure their loyalty.”
After doing all this, Wangcai returned to Fatty Lei’s side with a fawning smile, nodding and bowing repeatedly as he spoke to Fatty Lei.
