Chapter 26: Xenomorphs Again

“I really can’t believe it. It’s only been one night, but it has already grown this thick and strong?” After a night of stormy weather, Fatty Lei ran outside early the next morning.

Standing on the Metal Wall, Fatty Lei stared dumbfounded at the towering green plant. No matter what, Fatty Lei could not believe that this plant was just an ordinary ‘Sweet Potato’ yesterday.

At this moment, Wangcai, who was guarding outside the Military Outpost, also walked back. He stood next to Fatty Lei.

“Maybe it will start bearing fruit soon?” Fatty Lei thought to himself. “But this is a bit strange, right? If it’s a Sweet Potato, it should grow underground. How can it grow like a fruit?” Fatty Lei was very curious about this.

But then Fatty Lei relaxed again. “Damn! Why am I overthinking this? Anyway, there are many unexplainable things in this World. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have traveled through time. Thinking about it this way, this thing probably mutated.” Fatty Lei looked up and down again at this ‘Sweet Potato’ tree growing tightly against the Metal Wall of the Military Outpost.

So he tried to reassure Fatty Lei.

“There are still five hours to go. What if we get attacked by a large group of Xenomorphs during these five hours? You know, there are only two of us in this entire Military Outpost. We have no reinforcements at all. Besides, I’m not a very strong fighter…”

“It’s not strange at all. Because we Intelligent Butlers often follow our Masters around. If we didn’t have some Combat Power, how could we protect our Masters?” Wangcai smiled and said to Fatty Lei. “Of course, our Combat Power isn’t very high. We can handle small troubles, but if it’s a big problem, a butler like me would be outmatched.”

Seeing his Intelligent Butler so confidently asserting he could handle those dangers, Fatty Lei couldn’t help but be convinced. Fatty Lei was willing to give Wangcai a chance to prove himself. If he really had that ability, it would only be good for Fatty Lei, not bad, right?

“Alright! Since you say so, I’ll believe you this once.” Fatty Lei raised his hand and patted Wangcai on the shoulder.

Wangcai nodded and bowed, assuring Fatty Lei that he would definitely protect his safety. He absolutely wouldn’t let those ugly Xenomorphs and disgusting Bugs harm Fatty Lei in any way.

Watching Wangcai slap his chest with loud ‘thumping’ sounds in front of him, Fatty Lei thought to himself, “Seeing is believing, hearing is not. Even though you sound so sure, I can only be half-convinced.” Actually, Fatty Lei wanted to believe. But since he had never seen Wangcai actually use his real power, he could only keep some doubts.

But now that Wangcai had given him his word, he shouldn’t be too discouraging, right?
