Chapter 142: The Beginning of the Dimensional War (Part 2)
“Mr. Tad, are you planning to start a Dimensional War?”
Obena showed a terrified expression. He had already guessed what Tad wanted to do.
Obena knew very well how terrifying a Dimensional War could be.
Tad nodded with a gloomy face and said to Obena, “That’s right! I will report to the System and start a Dimensional War. Only this way can we turn the situation around. If we win the war, we won’t face System Elimination, and we will gain a World that produces a large amount of Magic Fruit. All of us will get benefits. Why are you still hesitating?”
Tad looked down on Obena. In his eyes, Obena was just a small Merchant. Besides, Obena was as timid as a mouse and indecisive, totally useless.
If it weren’t for the fact that Obena’s Dimensional Plane also produced Magic Fruit, Tad wouldn’t have had any dealings with him or any interest in knowing someone like him.
But because of this, Tad and the others had been exploiting Obena for a long time. They forced him to sell Magic Fruit cheaply to the Trade Alliance, and then they resold it for profit.
They even forced Obena to pay a monthly membership fee to the Trade Alliance to increase their own income.
It wasn’t that Tad didn’t want to get rid of Obena, but starting a Dimensional War over such a small matter wasn’t worth it. It simply wasn’t cost-effective, so Tad had always tolerated small fries like Obena.
Now things had changed. A big Merchant suddenly appeared and destroyed the Magic Fruit trade they controlled.
For both personal and practical reasons, Tad had to respond. After all, all the Merchants in the Magic Fruit Trade Alliance relied on Magic Fruit for their livelihood.
What the other party did meant cutting off everyone’s means of survival. If the Magic Fruit couldn’t be sold, they would all end up dead anyway. In that case, it was better to take a gamble. Who knows, they might create a new future.
Moreover, Tad took this opportunity to seemingly unite everyone against the new Merchant. But secretly, he had another plan: to use this chance to eliminate everyone and take control of all Magic Fruit resources himself.
This way, once he controlled all the Magic Fruit resources, wealth would flow in continuously.
Maybe soon, his Merchant rank would level up again.
And with all the Magic Fruit resources in his hands, he could set the prices as he wished. This was a deal with huge profits. The benefits were unimaginable.
People often said that with a hundred percent profit, they would risk their lives. Now, if this plan succeeded, the profit would be far more than a hundred percent.
It could be tens or even hundreds of times the profit, enough to make anyone take the risk.
So Tad contacted other Merchants within the Trade Alliance and finally persuaded them to join his plan. Because for a Dimensional War, the more members, the greater the benefits for him.
With more people on their side, they would have an absolute advantage. After all, different Dimensional Planes had different situations, so it was understandable to play it safe.
Tad didn’t want any unexpected situations, so he made sure their side was stronger than Andrew’s.
Before this, Tad had already bought all of Andrew’s information through the System. Of course, it cost a lot, and Tad even owed the System a large debt.
But after learning about Andrew and his two friends (Bruce and Lei Yaotian), Tad felt the cost was worth it.
Because the information showed that they all had substantial savings. If Tad defeated them and stripped them of their Merchant status, he could freely access their accounts.
The Credit Points in Andrew and Bruce’s accounts were enough for Tad to repay his debt to the System and still have a large amount of Credit Points left.
As the saying goes, humans die for wealth, and birds die for food. Tad became even more determined to deal with Andrew. He also told the other Merchants in the Trade Alliance, stirring their desires.
Tad promised those Merchants that they would share the spoils equally in the end.
That’s what he said, but who would have thought that Tad’s real plan was to eliminate everyone?
So to ensure victory over Andrew, Tad started to consider using everyone in the Trade Alliance, including Obena, whom he looked down upon.
Although Obena’s rank was low and he didn’t have much Combat Power, he was still a Sci-Fi Series Merchant. So the weapon support from Merchants in this Dimensional Plane was very important to him.
But Tad also knew that Obena’s Dimensional Plane was only a T-level low-grade Sci-Fi Dimension. Andrew’s friend Bruce was from an SSS-level Sci-Fi Dimension. But no matter what, someone like Obena was a good choice as Cannon Fodder or to attract the enemy’s firepower.
Because Tad never intended to let Obena survive this battle.
But now Tad had to patiently trick Obena into joining his plan.
So when Tad saw Obena’s fear, he suppressed his disdain and said kindly, “Obena, you have no way out now. And all of us in the Trade Alliance have no way out either. Starting a war is the only way left. Don’t you agree?”
After hearing Tad’s words, Obena fell silent.
Obena knew Tad made a good point. His situation was already very bad. If he didn’t take this chance to gamble, he would definitely face System Elimination in the end.
Either way, it was death. But if he followed Tad and they really won, not only would he survive, but he might also gain some benefits.
After all, the other Merchants in the Magic Fruit Trade Alliance were all much more experienced than him. If they agreed to Tad’s plan, why should he refuse?
With so many people dealing with that guy, the chance of winning must be high.
Tad saw the mixed expressions on Obena’s face and knew he was struggling internally.
Seizing this opportunity, Tad decided to add fuel to the fire and make Obena fully commit to following him.
If Obena didn’t join, Tad would lose out on some benefits. That was absolutely unacceptable. He had to use this chance to consolidate the entire Magic Fruit market under his control.
Such an opportunity didn’t come often. You couldn’t afford to miss it.
So Tad spoke to Obena in the most confident tone he could muster: “I’ve already owed the System a large amount of Credit Points to buy information about our opponent. The other party is just a Merchant from an A-level Fantasy Dimension. And he only has two friends who might help, and those two friends are just low-level Dimensional Plane Merchants.”
Tad didn’t reveal that Bruce was an SSS-level Sci-Fi Dimension Merchant. He knew if he said that, Obena would be too scared to join.
If Obena didn’t join, where would he find Cannon Fodder?
This was something Tad didn’t want to see, so he hid that fact.
After all, besides him, none of the other Alliance Merchants had the courage to owe a large debt to the System for information.
So Tad, who held the information, had a great initiative.
“Obena, why are you still hesitating? If we fail, it’s just death anyway. At least we’re seizing this opportunity. If you don’t join us, you’ll still face System Elimination in the end, won’t you?”
Tad continued to persuade Obena.
“I can tell you clearly, our opponent has billions of Credit Points in his System account. If we defeat him, those Credit Points will be ours.” Tad began to tempt Obena like a big bad wolf tempting a little rabbit. “Think about it, if we split billions of Credit Points among our Alliance members, how much would you get?”
Tad started counting on his fingers.
“There are seven of us. If we split billions of Credit Points, each person would get at least hundreds of millions. With that many Credit Points, I think it’s enough for us to pay the System’s Tax, isn’t it? And there would still be plenty left. I’m sure that’s attractive to you, Obena.”
Obena, who was already wavering, made up his mind after hearing that the opponent had billions of Credit Points.
When Tad said that after defeating the opponent, the Credit Points would be split equally, Obena immediately replied, “I’m in with everyone. If I do nothing, I’ll be System Eliminated anyway. Now that there’s this chance, why shouldn’t I take it?”
Tad smiled and nodded at Obena. “Good, that’s more like a man. With so many of us against that guy, he won’t stand a chance. You just wait to get your share of Credit Points. Now I’ll send you a message; please confirm it.”
Then a prompt box appeared on Obena’s screen.
It asked Obena to confirm that he voluntarily joined the Magic Fruit Alliance and agreed to start a Dimensional War against the Fantasy Dimension Merchant Andrew in twenty-four hours.
Obena clicked confirm, and Tad was very satisfied.
“Now you have twelve hours to prepare. Use all the forces you can mobilize. The Dimensional Battlefield will open in twelve hours, and the war will officially begin in twenty-four hours.”
Tad looked at Obena, who was excited and full of thoughts about defeating the opponent and sharing Credit Points. He couldn’t help but curl his lips into a cold smile.
