Chapter 125: Heading to the Divine Glory Empire (Part 1)
Audrey suddenly ran out and threw her arms around Lei Yaotian’s leg. Tilting her little face up, she looked at Lei Yaotian with tearful eyes.
Originally, Lei Yaotian had absolutely no intention of taking this little one with him on this trip. So, Audrey, who had been by Lei Yaotian’s side ever since her “birth,” suddenly felt very unaccustomed.
“Don’t~~go~~”
Audrey’s real intention was for Lei Yaotian not to leave, or not to leave her alone here. But unfortunately, she had only just learned to talk, so she couldn’t fully express her meaning yet.
Looking at pitiful Audrey, Lei Yaotian steeled himself and gave Monica a meaningful look. In the end, Monica took Audrey away.
Although Audrey was very strong, compared to powerful Monica, her strength wasn’t enough.
“Audrey needs to study hard. Once you can behave well and communicate with others properly, Elder Mensa will bring you to find me.”
Lei Yaotian said to Audrey, struggling constantly in Monica’s arms.
These words finally made Audrey gradually stop struggling. She looked at Lei Yaotian very seriously and asked, “Real?”
Lei Yaotian nodded. “Real! I never lie!”
He said this bravely, though Lei Yaotian himself knew it was mostly a big lie.
But anyway, he finally calmed the little one down.
“I leave the rest to you all.”
Lei Yaotian waved an arm to the crowd, then took Wangcai into the small shuttle craft. The shuttle craft carried them both into the Heavy Aircraft Carrier.
As the carrier slowly ascended into the sky, the people on the ground dispersed.
“Elder Mensa!” Monica called out to stop Mensa.
“What is it, Lady Monica?”
Monica walked over holding the frowning Audrey. “Audrey’s studies will be entrusted to you now. Though this little one is quite difficult to teach, she is very clever.”
Monica had called for Elder Mensa specifically about Audrey’s learning.
After hearing Monica’s words, Elder Mensa was briefly modest before saying, “Rest assured, I will teach her about manners and how to get along with others as quickly as possible. However, I would like you to be present when I teach her. After all…”
Elder Mensa had also witnessed little Audrey’s strength. The wreckage of those Heavy Engineering Robots she had dismantled was still piled up not far away.
Monica perfectly understood Elder Mensa’s worry.
“Please be assured on this point, I will guarantee your safety. If this little one misbehaves, I think the Young Master would be very angry indeed.” Monica’s words were actually also meant for Audrey.
Just as Monica guessed, when Audrey heard her words, she turned her little head back and looked up. “If I don’t study hard, will Father really be mad? Then would he ignore me?”
Elder Mensa smiled knowingly, while Monica pretended to be serious and scared Audrey, saying, “He definitely would. The Young Master hates little children who don’t study. If you don’t study hard and stay naughty like before, he will never ignore you again.”
“Don’t!”
Audrey shrieked.
Thwack!
Monica gave Audrey’s little bottom a firm slap. “Then study hard properly, and stop rushing around all day!”
“Ohhh~~”
“Commander Monica, military command of the Asteroid and this planet has been handed to me, but administrative authority has been entrusted to you,” the Artificial Human Tom Cruise said as he walked over to Monica.
“Please rest assured on that point, I will ensure the logistics supply supports you fully,”
Monica replied.
According to Lei Yaotian’s arrangements before leaving, Tom Cruise was the general with full military authority. Monica was the administrator with administrative power. Elder Mensa started planning the economic development. Intelligent Brain Number Eighteen was responsible for setting up the monitoring systems and overseeing the construction of the Warship Factory.
Of course, being Wangcai’s underling, Number Eighteen’s role went far beyond just that.
While overseeing the Warship Factory construction, Number Eighteen also began exploring the planets surrounding the Base Star. If possible, factories would be built on other worlds.
It also needed to explore those planets to see if any had usable mineral resources.
Wangcai had left coordinates on the Base Star so that materials purchased through the Dimensional Trading Device could be instantly transmitted back.
…
…
Lei Yaotian and Wangcai had already entered the Heavy Aircraft Carrier.
This Heavy Aircraft Carrier, purchased from Bruce’s world, was 300 kilometers long and 30 kilometers wide. Such a carrier might as well be a moving city within the universe.
Inside the carrier was a small Port, docked with ten Star Cruisers.
Simultaneously, ten medium Battle Cruisers and ten light attack Warships clung to the carrier’s outer hull.
For a carrier, this configuration was normal.
Now, Lei Yaotian understood why a single carrier cost so much.
It came as a whole package, not just the carrier alone.
The entire carrier battle group possessed twenty-five thousand Mecha. There were thirty thousand Warship operators and maintenance crew, plus twenty-five thousand Mecha combat personnel.
Of course, these combat personnel were Artificial Humans bought from Rogue’s side. After short training, they were sent to their posts on the carrier.
“Do you think Monica can manage our Base Star well?”
Lei Yaotian asked Wangcai beside him with some worry after giving the crew in the pilot room the order to initiate the Jump Program.
“Rest easy, Young Master. Monica won’t make any mistakes in management. Besides, Number Eighteen assists her, so you needn’t worry about that.”
“Is Number Eighteen really okay?”
After all, Intelligent Brain Number Eighteen was a relic of the Atlantean Civilization; Lei Yaotian always felt a bit uneasy.
“Aha, Young Master. There’s no need for that worry. Though Atlantean technology is advanced, you mustn’t forget, I’m a Sci-Fi Series Steward produced by the Dimensional System!”
Wangcai looked quite proud.
“Explain more clearly,” Lei Yaotian said, flicking Wangcai’s forehead with a finger.
Wangcai raised a hand to cover his forehead, pretending it was quite painful.
“Young Master, although I’m an Intelligent Lifeform, please don’t always flick my head! My main program is here; if something happens, I’d become an idiot!”
“Keep babbling, and I’ll turn you into an idiot right now!”
Lei Yaotian threatened Wangcai.
“Okay! Okay! Okay! I’ll talk!”
Wangcai truly feared Lei Yaotian would act on his words, so he dared not joke anymore.
“My main program is more advanced than that Intelligent Brain’s. So I easily cracked its internal programs and placed some of my own codes within its programming. To put it simply, that fellow is basically my clone, though I don’t forcibly control its actions or thoughts.”
Lei Yaotian nodded slowly. “So, Number Eighteen definitely won’t be a problem.”
Wangcai answered very confidently, “Number Eighteen, Monica, and Audrey are the least likely to cause problems. Who I worry about are Tom Cruise and Heavy Engineering Robot Leader 9527.”
Lei Yaotian raised his hand to stroke his chin. “Dr. Rogue embedded loyalty programs into these Artificial Humans like Tom when he made them. I suppose there shouldn’t be any issues…”
“But Young Master, you mustn’t forget they changed after coming to our world.”
“Are you talking about Tom gaining intelligence?” Lei Yaotian thought about how Tom was different from the other Artificial Humans.
“Exactly! This is the point. Tom’s change is the greatest. Among the Artificial Human group, others have also gained the ability to think, though not as strongly as Tom.”
“Is it good… or bad?” Lei Yaotian murmured to himself.
Actually, Lei Yaotian couldn’t judge such a matter.
“Logically, it should be good. Obedient Artificial Humans are indeed satisfying. But you must know, Master, if you walk the path of unifying the Universe, you’ll inevitably need thinking generals to lead your Fleet. Then Artificial Humans become the best choice, provided they remain loyal to you.”
“That way, Artificial Humans would be much more reliable than other beings in the entire Universe.”
Lei Yaotian nodded silently. What Wangcai said was indeed right. If Artificial Humans gained intelligence and could plan strategies, entrusting future fleets to them was ideal.
Compared to finding other commanders across the Universe, Artificial Humans were more reassuring for Lei Yaotian.
“Commander, Jump Program initiated. Beginning countdown: 10, 9, 8, 7…”
Lei Yaotian and Wangcai sat in their seats and spoke no more.
When the final second was reached, viewed from space, the carrier’s hull distorted violently, then vanished completely.
Long-distance Compressed Space Jump technology was unthinkable in Lei Yaotian’s original world.
But in the Great Cosmic Era, such technology was commonplace among high-level civilizations.
Though, for lower-tier civilizations, it remained a precious technology.
Lei Yaotian’s Base was deep within the Barren Star Domain’s core. Reaching the outskirts of the Barren Star Domain would still take quite some time.
By calculation, such long-distance Compressed Space Jumps would be needed at least seven or eight more times. Each jump required several hours for system cooling before the next program could start.
In an unfamiliar region of Starry Sky, a huge Heavy Aircraft Carrier’s silhouette gradually solidified from an Afterimage into a physical object.
Lei Yaotian and the others now floated in an unfamiliar region.
“Long-distance jump complete. System cooldown time: two hours, forty-eight minutes.”
“It looks like we need to stay here for a while. Accompany me for a walk then.”
Lei Yaotian stood up from the captain’s seat in the Command Room and called for Wangcai.
Hearing this, Wangcai also left his seat and followed Lei Yaotian. “Young Master, don’t go too far.”
“Rest easy, I just intend to look at the scenery on the corridor outside the Command Room.”
