Chapter 121: Keep It Secret
Chapter 121: Keep It Secret
The inside of the ruins was not as spacious as it seemed, instead, it felt a bit oppressive.
As soon as Lei Yaotian entered, he saw two large instruments embedded in the rock on either side of the entrance. He then walked over and carefully observed the writing on the instruments.
Elder Mensa followed behind Lei Yaotian and did not disturb him. Only after Lei Yaotian had looked for a while did Elder Mensa ask, “Young Master, what is this instrument for?”
Hearing this, Lei Yaotian looked at Elder Mensa and said, “Didn’t you study archaeology? Don’t you recognize the writing on it?”
Seeing Lei Yaotian’s strange expression, Elder Mensa smiled bitterly and replied, “My dear Young Master, I said I know some ancient scripts, but I don’t know all of them. For example, I don’t recognize the script of the Atlantean Civilization.”
“Oh, I see. I thought you knew everything.”
Lei Yaotian quietly mumbled to himself.
“Know everything! Does he think I’m a super Iktan?” Elder Mensa thought to himself after hearing Lei Yaotian’s quiet words.
“This instrument controls the defense system, but without energy, it’s basically useless. For now, I don’t see any use for it,” Lei Yaotian said, then walked further inside.
In the center of the research room stood a cylindrical object. This cylinder occupied about ten square meters and was surrounded by a transparent material made of crystal. Inside the cylinder, a purple cube floated in mid-air.
But perhaps due to the lack of energy supply, this cube was not working; it just floated there quietly.
“What is this? I just don’t understand it,” Lei Yaotian asked, turning to Wangcai and Elder Mensa on either side.
Wangcai and Elder Mensa both shook their heads, indicating they were not very clear about it either.
“Young Master, look—there is writing engraved on the base of this cylinder,” Monica said, lowering her head and suddenly noticing some text on the metal base, immediately calling out to Lei Yaotian.
“Where? Let me see.”
Lei Yaotian grabbed Monica’s hand and asked.
Monica crouched down on the spot, extended her arm, and pointed at the metal base of the cylinder, saying to Lei Yaotian, “Young Master, it’s right here.” Lei Yaotian also crouched down as instructed and looked in the direction Monica was pointing. Sure enough, he saw a small square on the metal base, and inside the square was engraved a line of text in traditional Chinese characters.
Artificial Intelligent Brain Number Eighteen.
“Intelligent Brain?” After reading the text, Lei Yaotian stood up, looked up at the purple crystal floating inside the cylinder, and stared blankly. “So this crystal is the Intelligent Brain of the Atlantean Civilization?”
Lei Yaotian found it a bit unbelievable.
“Young Master, what are you looking at? What exactly is written on this metal base?” Wangcai asked as he moved closer. Elder Mensa also showed a curious expression; he too wanted to know what was written there.
Lei Yaotian withdrew his gaze and looked at the two people showing curiosity, waiting for his answer.
“It says,” Lei Yaotian pointed at the crystal cylinder in front of him, “this thing is the Intelligent Brain of the Atlantean Civilization.”
“What!”
Upon hearing Lei Yaotian’s reply, Elder Mensa looked utterly incredulous, as if what Lei Yaotian had said was incredibly shocking.
Lei Yaotian and Wangcai glanced at each other, not understanding why Elder Mensa was so excited.
“Old man Mensa, isn’t your reaction a bit over the top? It’s just an Intelligent Brain left by the Atlantean Civilization. Is it worth getting so worked up about?”
Wangcai walked over and reached out to support old Mensa, who was so excited he seemed about to faint.
Lei Yaotian also felt that Mensa’s reaction was too intense.
“My goodness, don’t you two understand what this Intelligent Brain represents?”
Finally recovering a bit, Mensa stared wide-eyed at Lei Yaotian and Wangcai, shrieking loudly.
Audrey frowned, clearly irritated by Elder Mensa’s sharp voice.
Lei Yaotian gently patted Audrey, signaling her not to take any action.
Only then did Audrey sullenly withdraw her gaze, no longer glaring fiercely at old Mensa.
“What does it represent?” Wangcai asked.
Elder Mensa’s body was still trembling slightly, showing that he was not yet entirely calm inside.
“This is the Atlantean Intelligent Brain! It might very well contain some high-level technical data. And don’t forget, everyone—this place is the Atlantean Military Technology Research Institute!”
Elder Mensa jumped up and down, shouting.
“Hmm… now that you mention it, that really could be possible,” Lei Yaotian’s reaction was not as excited as Mensa’s. After all, he had the Dimensional Trading Device, so he viewed Atlantean technology as somewhat optional.
Wangcai’s thoughts were basically the same as Lei Yaotian’s, so neither of them reacted as intensely as Mensa.
“Young Master, Lord Butler, don’t you see? If this Intelligent Brain contains any high-level technology, and if we can master it, it would be extremely beneficial for the Young Master’s development!”
Lei Yaotian just nodded but remained silent.
Wangcai placed a hand on the overexcited Mensa’s shoulder and said to him, “Whether there is technical data inside still needs to be verified. Even if there is, whether we can use it is another matter. Moreover, if we really do use it, we might not have the necessary materials required by the technology. These are all things we need to consider.”
“And if this Intelligent Brain really does have that technical data, and we get our hands on it, unless we can keep it a secret very well, if it gets out, we will face total disaster. I imagine there are quite a few civilizations in this universe that covet such a thing.”
As he laid out each point one by one, Elder Mensa’s excitement gradually cooled down.
Indeed, all these issues Wangcai mentioned needed to be considered.
Elder Mensa knew that, leaving aside the issue of the Intelligent Brain, if the discovery of the Atlantean ruins on this planet got out, it would be uncertain whether they could even stay here.
At that time, it would surely attract hordes of explorers from various civilizations, or armed groups with connections to high-level civilizations.
As if doused with cold water, Elder Mensa shivered and trembled.
“Secrecy! We must keep it secret! Absolutely must not let it leak out!”
Elder Mensa quickly and urgently said to Lei Yaotian.
Hearing this, Lei Yaotian smiled and said, “My Steward is absolutely loyal to me; he has served our family for three generations. I am the fourth generation, so there is no need to worry about him. He has kept many of our family’s secrets very well.” When Lei Yaotian said this, Wangcai understood his intention.
So he very cooperatively bowed to Lei Yaotian, appearing humble.
“To receive such words from you, Young Master, I, Wangcai, am deeply honored.”
Lei Yaotian put on a somewhat arrogant expression, slightly raising his face and nodding slowly. Then he looked at the nervous Monica and said, “This lady by my side is my Deputy Officer and also my Head Maid. Due to certain special reasons, I fused with her Crystal Core, meaning if I die, she cannot live either. So she is someone I can trust; she can keep this secret.”
Although Lei Yaotian’s words were rather crude—as if he trusted her only because he controlled her through the fused Crystal Core—and Monica felt a little dissatisfied, at least Lei Yaotian now trusted her, right?
So she felt a little happy nonetheless.
“Really, Young Master, saying it like that. Does Monica have to earn your trust only because her Crystal Core was fused? After all, you are my ‘King,’ it’s just so hurtful.” Monica also appropriately lowered her head, cooperating with Lei Yaotian. At the same time, she secretly decided, “Hmph! I must work hard to make the ‘King’ accept me, without considering the fused Crystal Core. I want him to truly like me for who I am, not because of other reasons…”
As for these little thoughts in Monica’s heart, Lei Yaotian had no way of knowing.
But the Genetic Girl Audrey, standing beside Lei Yaotian, seemed to sense Monica’s intentions.
“Wumi!”
Audrey shouted at Monica, then threw her whole body into Lei Yaotian’s embrace. She then poked her head out and made a face at Monica.
It seemed like she was challenging Monica, or perhaps declaring her claim over Lei Yaotian.
“This one is mine, don’t even think about it!”
Of course, if Audrey could communicate normally with people right now, she would definitely say this to Monica.
Unfortunately, Audrey was still unable to communicate normally with others.
“Wumi~ Wuya~ Wu~~~~”
Perhaps because they were both female, Monica seemed to truly understand Audrey’s challenging meaning.
But Lei Yaotian was already Monica’s acknowledged ‘King,’ and in the future, Lei Yaotian would also bear the responsibility of continuing their entire ‘race.’ So on this matter, Monica could not back down.
“Just a little kid, hmph!”
Monica couldn’t be bothered to argue with Audrey; she straightened her back and chest.
Immediately, her two large bosoms shook, making Audrey’s eyes dizzy.
Looking down at her own flat chest, Audrey felt a bit insecure…
Monica very smugly tilted the corners of her mouth upward.
First round: Super Voluptuous Monica wins.
