Chapter 1: Sudden Arrival

“Hold the line! Hold the line! Wipe out all these bugs! Don’t let them get up here!”

A man with a ferocious look on his face shouted loudly, directing strangely dressed men to rush toward the front Metal Wall.

These were buildings and outfits that Lei Yaotian had never seen before—they looked like something straight out of a Sci-Fi Film.

Lei Yao, having just woken up, was completely bewildered.

Beneath the Metal Wall where he stood, dozens of fearsome “monsters” he had never seen before had appeared.

These “monsters” let out bone-chilling screeches and brandished their two sharp forelimbs, scrambling up the high Metal Wall by climbing over one another.

Fortunately, the Metal Wall was thick and sturdy; despite the monsters’ relentless charging, it didn’t budge an inch.

Their terrifying forelimbs only left scratch marks when they scraped against the Metal Wall.

“What the hell is going on!” Lei Tianyao cursed instinctively.

Whack! Someone slapped Lei Yaotian hard on the back of his neck. Lei Yaotian turned around and saw the same fierce-looking man who had been giving orders earlier.

“Where did you come from? I’ve never seen you around this Military Outpost before.”

This man was the highest-ranking officer here—Kalong, the squad leader dispatched by the First Regiment of the Third Fleet of the Divine Glory Empire to this Asteroid Military Outpost fifty light-years beyond the Empire’s border.

“Damn it! We just took over this shithole, and now this happens. No wonder no one wanted to come here—this Planet is completely worthless and ridiculously dangerous.”

Ignoring Lei Yaotian’s dazed look, Kalong stood there muttering under his breath.

Suddenly, he raised his head and stared at Lei Yaotian.

“Looking at your clothes—you’re not a soldier? Did you not leave with the Twelfth Squad when they pulled out?”

Lei Yaotian didn’t know how to respond, so he just nodded reflexively.

Kalong gave Lei Yaotian an ugly smile.

“Well, your luck is just terrible!” Kalong said to Lei Yaotian. “No matter what you did before, I order you now to join my Third Infantry Squad. Go to the armory and grab a weapon, then get up on the wall and fight!!!”

Kalong saw that the big Fatty Lei in front of him, who looked confused and didn’t seem to grasp the situation, showed no intention of moving.

“Where’s the director? Aren’t you guys filming a movie?” To his surprise, this fatty actually asked him such a question. “The special effects for these monsters are so realistic! They really scared me just now.” Fatty Lei actually leaned his head out, looking down at the swarming Bugs below and expressing his amazement.

“You idiot! Don’t you understand the situation? No matter what you used to do, you have to listen to me now—pick up a weapon and fight! If the Bugs break through, we’re all dead!!!”

Kalong took his Laser Rifle from his back and shoved it into Lei Yaotian’s hands.

Whoa

As soon as the black Laser Rifle touched his hands, Lei Yaotian instantly felt his arms grow heavy.

“It’s really heavy!”

Lei Yaotian imitated the soldiers beside him, hoisting the Laser Rifle onto his shoulder and gripping the trigger.

Zap! Zap!

With just a light touch on the trigger, two faint green laser beams shot out.

Unfortunately, Lei Yaotian’s aim was terrible—the beams missed the “monsters” completely and hit a sand dune far away.

Lei Yaotian himself was knocked flat on his back by the Laser Rifle’s powerful recoil.

Kalong watched as Lei Yaotian picked up the weapon, fired two shots, and then fell backward onto the ground.

“My god! Who is this guy? Even a child from the Empire wouldn’t be this clumsy with a weapon!”

But at this point, Kalong had no time to deal with this fool.

Because many Bugs had already climbed over the Metal Wall, and the soldiers on the wall suffered heavy casualties in close combat with them.

The Bugs’ vitality was incredibly strong; it took four or five soldiers surrounding and shooting one for a long time to finally kill it. This was a major headache for the already understrength infantry squad.

As more and more Bugs used their fallen comrades’ bodies to climb onto the Metal Wall,

Kalong had no choice but to order his soldiers to quickly retreat from the Metal Wall and pull back.

As for Lei Yaotian, because of the recoil, he fell and hit the back of his head, knocking himself out cold.

So he had no idea about anything that happened afterward.

Boom!

A flash of lightning streaked across the sky, followed by large raindrops pattering down noisily.

The Military Outpost was now deathly silent, leaving behind only devastation, scattered corpses, and a mess of shredded flesh, broken limbs, and blood mixed together, bearing witness to all that had occurred.

There were no signs of life left in the entire Military Outpost.

The lower half of Squad Leader Kalong’s body lay not far from the outpost’s gate.

In front of him was the body of a black Bug riddled with holes.

It seemed Kalong had perished together with this Bug.

And the Bugs, after killing all the humans in the Military Outpost, seemed to have left this place as well.

Rain continued to pour from the sky, washing over the ground.

The ground of the Military Outpost was covered with red human blood mixed with the Zerg’s green mucus.

Thankfully, the rain helped wash away much of the foul stench that had filled the air.

“Ugh…”

Amid the field of corpses, a faint sound arose.

Lei Tianyao struggled to push aside the heavy object pinning him down, sat up, and rubbed the back of his head.

“Ouch—that really hurts. Feels like a bump on the back of my head. Was all that just a dream?”

Thinking back to what he had just experienced, Lei Tianyao pondered.

“No! This isn’t a dream!” Lei Tianyao’s pupils contracted sharply, and his face turned grim. He took in the entire scene—corpses everywhere, various Bug bodies, scattered limbs and severed arms, and organs splattered against the Metal Wall.

“Blergh—”

Lei Tianyao leaned to one side and vomited everything in his stomach.

“I was just at home playing Sengoku Rance, about to finish the game. I remember that old computer of mine seemed to have an electrical leak. I got shocked by the stray current and blacked out. Then I woke up and saw this.”

Lei Tianyao was a true Otaku; his daily routine consisted of eating, sleeping, and playing games.

If it wasn’t absolutely necessary, he wouldn’t set foot outside his home.

Luckily, Lei Tianyao wasn’t the kind of Otaku who just lazed around doing nothing. He was a genuine tech Otaku, so every month he took on some illustration jobs online. The money he earned was enough to support himself, indulge in some of his “hobbies,” and even save a little.

But because of his Otaku lifestyle, Lei Tianyao’s weight had ballooned to two hundred pounds.

Fortunately, he was six feet tall, so he didn’t look too fat.

Still, his friends had given him a nickname.

Fatty Lei…

Lei Yaotian was quite satisfied with his life and didn’t want anything to change.

As long as he had enough living expenses each month to eat well and buy the latest H-games, he was content.

You could say Lei Yaotian was someone without grand ambitions.

So Lei Yaotian lived this kind of life for three years.

But life is full of surprises—the computer he couldn’t bear to replace finally showed its true power.

After vomiting until there was nothing left, Lei Tianyao, now drenched like a drowned rat, finally pulled himself together. He began to seriously think about what he should do.

Faced with such a bizarre place, Lei Tianyao knew he must have “transmigrated.”

Staggering to his feet, Lei Tianyao raised both his hands.

“Give me the power! I am He-Man!”

Apart from the falling rain, nothing unusual appeared in the sky.

Lei Tianyao stood alone on the metal platform, his chubby body soaked with rain.

“That’s not right. Usually, when someone transmigrates, as the Transmigrator, I should gain some powerful abilities.”

As an Otaku, Lei Tianyao had read plenty of transmigration novels.

So he had some idea about the typical protagonist templates.

He lowered his head, undid his belt, and checked…

“Impossible! As a Transmigrator, I should have the main character template!”

Lei Tianyao muttered quietly to himself.

“Could my transmigration benefit template be the ‘Aura of Overbearing Power’?”

The corner of Lei Tianyao’s mouth twitched.

Looking around, aside from the bodies everywhere, there wasn’t a single living creature around for him to test the legendary “Aura of Overbearing Power.”

“Since I’m already here, there’s no going back. The most important thing now is to figure out exactly where this place is.”

Fatty Lei climbed down from the metal platform, carefully stepping around the corpses and severed limbs along the way.

But occasionally he still stepped on some unfortunate soul’s intestines or other organs.

The entire Military Outpost was built entirely of metal, surrounded by Metal Walls twenty meters high.

The thick Metal Walls could withstand any attack.

This time, if the Zerg hadn’t desperately piled up bodies to form a ramp, the outpost probably wouldn’t have fallen so quickly. Of course, it was also related to the severe shortage of personnel in the Military Outpost.

Originally, this Military Outpost was supposed to have a garrison of five hundred.

But when the Zerg attacked, there were fewer than sixty people inside.

So its fall was inevitable.

Fatty Lei slowly walked to the entrance of the outpost’s Command Room, poked his head in, and looked around.

“Whew…”

Fatty Lei breathed a sigh of relief. “Good, it’s not as bloody in here as outside; it’s still quite clean.” So Fatty Lei walked in, found a clean spot, sat down, and began carefully thinking about his survival.

At the same time, regarding this Planet and this Star Sector, the Empire’s Third Fleet had reached a decision.

This Star Sector, far from the Empire’s border and lacking mineral resources, had been completely abandoned.

There were no mineral resources, and countless Zerg roamed this Star Sector.

Even if they held onto this Star Sector, it wouldn’t benefit the Empire at all.

So the Third Fleet simply proposed to the higher-ups that they abandon this Star Sector and focus all efforts on developing others.

And Kalong’s squad—those unlucky ones—were sent to this Military Outpost to oversee the withdrawal of the original personnel.

And the Planet where Lei Yaotian ended up happened to be within this Star Sector.

In other words, the Military Outpost where Lei Yaotian was located had also been scrapped. From then on, no more ships or supplies would come.

If Fatty Lei ever found out about this, who knows whether he would cry or laugh…
