“Announce this: The country that salvaged Legion Ant Company’s Seismograph must return it within three days and compensate for the company’s losses. Otherwise, they will face the consequences.”

Chen Mo issued a warning—not to an individual or a company, but to a country.

The announcement stirred further waves in the already heated Seismograph incident.

This was the first time anyone had heard of a company daring to openly warn a country. However, many people understood Legion Ant Company’s position.

The confirmation of the Seismograph’s technology gave Legion Ant Company the confidence to do so.

Offending Legion Ant Company meant that cooperation on Seismograph-related matters would become extremely difficult. People assumed Legion Ant Company was warning the Island Nation, but they did not know the United States was also involved.

The news about the United States salvaging the Seismograph had not been made public like the Island Nation’s case, so outsiders were unaware.

Cheng Guo and Li Chengzhi quickly entered the building of Legion Ant Company. As the head of the Earthquake Administration, Cheng Guo had known about the testing of Legion Ant Company’s Seismograph. At the time, he had paid attention but did not take it too seriously.

When Chen Mo issued the Earthquake Early Warning, Cheng Guo had been on edge for two hours.

Those two hours felt like the longest two hours of his life. Just as he was about to give up hope, the earthquake occurred, and he found himself grinning foolishly at the news.

It was the first time in his life he had ever felt happy about an earthquake.

After several attempts, he managed to contact Li Chengzhi and asked to accompany him to meet Chen Mo. To avoid making a big scene, he went alone and immediately sought out Li Chengzhi to come along.

After entering Legion Ant Company, Cheng Guo felt calmer. Though he had seen much in his life, it was his first time encountering Robots serving as greeters.

Cheng Guo could not help but marvel at the technology of Legion Ant Company.

It had been a long time since he had felt this nervous. The person he was about to meet was someone who could change the world.

With the advent of the Seismograph, giving Chen Mo a hundred Nobel Prizes would not be excessive. He had to come in person; he did not trust anyone else to approach Chen Mo.

Before long, Cheng Guo met the person he wanted to see.

He was an ordinary-looking young man, not some three-headed, six-armed figure, but he carried more confidence than the average youth. Beside him were Zhao Min, the President of Legion Ant Company, and Xiaoyu, Chen Mo’s rumored girlfriend.

“Good to see you again.”

Chen Mo shook hands with Li Chengzhi and then reached out to shake Cheng Guo’s hand.

“This is Comrade Cheng Guo, the head of the Earthquake Administration.” Li Chengzhi introduced him to Chen Mo.

Chen Mo was not surprised by Cheng Guo’s identity. After the Seismograph’s success, he would not be surprised even if someone of a higher rank came.

“Director Cheng, it’s an honor to meet you,” Chen Mo said with a smile.

“The honor is mine,” Cheng Guo replied. “And these two must be Ms. Zhao Min and Ms. Xiaoyu?”

“Hello, Director Cheng.”

Xiaoyu and Zhao Min also shook hands with Cheng Guo.

“Let’s talk inside,” Chen Mo said, leading the group into the reception room.

“Mr. Chen, you probably know why I’m here, right?” Cheng Guo said as soon as he sat down, rubbing his hands together eagerly.

“Director Cheng, you’re here about the Seismograph, aren’t you?” Chen Mo said.

“Yes,” Cheng Guo nodded emphatically. “I was aware when you were testing the Seismograph. Teacher Wu Zhen mentioned it to me. To be honest, I didn’t have high hopes at the time.”

Cheng Guo did not hide the truth. Flattery would have seemed insincere at this point.

“But Legion Ant Company always manages to create miracles,” Cheng Guo said. “I’ve come here today to shamelessly ask for your help, Mr. Chen.”

Cheng Guo felt somewhat embarrassed. After all, they had not provided much support in the past, and bringing this up now was difficult.

“Director Cheng, you want me to install Seismographs across the country?” Chen Mo asked.

It did not take much thought to guess Cheng Guo’s intentions.

“That’s right.”

Cheng Guo smiled immediately when Chen Mo said it. This young man was not only clever but also seemed quite amiable.

“I’m afraid I can’t help with that,” Chen Mo shook his head. “The cost of Seismographs is very high. Covering the entire country would require too many, and our company cannot afford it.”

“Is that the issue? How about this: Mr. Chen, add twenty Seismographs and install them in other test areas. If the instruments prove useful, we will purchase them, and the Earthquake Administration will cover the cost,” Cheng Guo said.

“Twenty Seismographs would be feasible. As for the cost, if the instruments prove effective, we can discuss the details then,” Chen Mo said, holding up one finger. “One hundred million.”

“Deal,” Cheng Guo agreed without hesitation.

They were working for the benefit of the people. As long as the instruments were truly useful, the higher-ups would not hesitate to approve the funds.

After discussing the details, Zhao Min took Cheng Guo on a tour of Legion Ant Company. Only Chen Mo and Li Chengzhi remained in the reception room.
