Chen Mo stopped. He grabbed his phone, checked the caller ID, rubbed his forehead, and walked out.
“Mom,” Chen Mo answered the phone.
“Mo, your aunt just showed us some news. It says the Chairman of Legion Ant Company. Is that you?” An anxious voice came from the other end of the line.
“Mom, you called just to ask this?” Chen Mo almost cried. “Didn’t I tell you during New Year? I started a company called Legion Ant Company. The person you saw in the news is me.”
“Such a big thing, and you didn’t tell me and your dad.”
The voice on the phone sounded both happy and angry. Happy because her son was successful, angry because Chen Mo hadn’t told them.
“Mom, I told you during New Year. I started a company,” Chen Mo said with a bitter smile.
“Your dad and I will come to Binhai City in a few days. Are you healthy there? Is everything okay?”
“Very healthy,” Chen Mo thought to himself. Even if there was something, you interrupted it. But he only thought it, didn’t say it out loud. “Mom, you and dad take care of your health. When you come to Binhai City, I’ll tell you more.”
“Okay.”
After hanging up, Chen Mo walked back to the room.
Xiaoyu lay on the bed, her cheeks flushed, eyes tightly closed. Hearing the door open, her body tensed up again, and she subconsciously pulled the blanket. She felt her heart was about to jump out.
After waiting a long time and finding no movement, Xiaoyu gently opened her eyes. Chen Mo’s smirking face came into view.
“I knew you were pretending to sleep.”
“I was asleep,” Xiaoyu said, almost covering her face. It was too embarrassing.
“You can talk while asleep?” Chen Mo laughed. “My mom just called. She said they’re coming to Binhai City in a few days. I’ll take you to meet them then.”
“Really meet them?” Xiaoyu stared blankly at Chen Mo, looking a bit nervous.
“Otherwise?” Chen Mo said. “Last holiday when I went back, I didn’t tell them about you. They dragged me to my aunt’s for a blind date. Luckily you were there then, otherwise I wouldn’t have found an excuse to escape.”
Hearing Chen Mo mention this, Xiaoyu laughed. “Did you see the girl you were supposed to meet?”
“No,” Chen Mo shook his head. “I found an excuse and ran away.”
“Don’t you want to see that girl?”
Chen Mo looked strangely at Xiaoyu. “You’re not jealous, are you? Aren’t you afraid I might go see that girl and run off with her?”
“Who’s jealous?” Xiaoyu snorted lightly. Jealous of herself? She wasn’t that extreme.
“Alright, let’s not talk about this. This time, come with me to meet my parents. Otherwise, they might drag me to another blind date,” Chen Mo said.
“Okay,” Xiaoyu hesitated for a moment before nodding.
“Let’s sleep now. We’ll save this little fish for next time, give you a perfect night.”
Chen Mo hugged Xiaoyu, kissed her, and fell asleep. Xiaoyu in his arms, with a sweet smile, snuggled closer into his embrace and closed her eyes.

The light rain that couldn’t soak clothes drove away the long-lasting heat, bringing a touch of coolness to this graduation season.
In the lecture hall, Chen Mo looked calmly at the teacher below.
“The research method I used was the multi-slit one-step rainbow holography method. The advantage of one-step rainbow holography is that the speckle noise is smaller than in two-step rainbow holography. However, it has a drawback: the field of view is limited by the lens size.
To address the issues of color blur and line blur, I adopted the multi-slit approach. When shooting rainbow holographic images, the reproduced images from double-slit and triple-slit holograms are brighter than those from single-slit. As long as the slit width is appropriate, the color blur caused by white light reproduction won’t make the reproduced images overlap…”
Chen Mo carefully answered the teacher’s questions. After a long time, he finally walked out of the lecture hall carrying his backpack, a relaxed smile on his face.
The defense was over. His graduation thesis was “Shooting and Experimental Research on Rainbow Holography.”
This thesis topic was decided not long after the start of his senior year. It involved finding methods to increase the field of view in rainbow holography, comparing methods to enlarge the field of view, and optimizing improvements.
The accident in the library back then happened while he was searching for thesis materials. The thesis wasn’t too difficult; Chen Mo had completed and submitted it last semester. The defense and graduation project were very simple for him now.
Leaving the teaching building, Chen Mo hurried towards the square.
At this time, Binhai University was bustling, immersed in the joy of graduation and the sadness of parting. In every pretty corner of the campus, groups of people taking photos could be seen.
Today was the day Xiaoyu took her graduation photos. Chen Mo jogged all the way there.
The square was packed with people. Chen Mo searched through the crowd for a while and soon saw Xiaoyu waiting under a large tree.
Xiaoyu was holding two bouquets of flowers, a smile on her face. Her dark long hair was tied up, revealing her snow-white swan-like neck. Two strands of hair framed her forehead. Wearing her academic gown, she looked very fresh and lovely.
“Sorry to keep you waiting, beautiful lady,” Chen Mo stopped beside Xiaoyu.
Seeing Chen Mo, Xiaoyu’s smile widened, her eyes curving like crescent moons. Soon, Li Ruoxi, Zhou Tongtong, and Wang Xiaolan also came over.
“Chen Mo, Xiaoyu is graduating. Where’s your gift?” Li Ruoxi spoke as soon as she arrived.
“Oh, right, here.” Chen Mo took a box from his backpack and handed it to Xiaoyu. “It’s a bracelet. And here are yours. Thank you for taking care of Xiaoyu these four years.” Chen Mo took out three more and gave them to the three girls.
Li Ruoxi and the other two immediately laughed and accepted the boxes Chen Mo handed them.
“Being friends with a rich guy is really nice. So now, our family’s prettiest, gentlest, most obedient Kitten is officially handed over to you. But don’t think one gift can buy us off. If you ever dare to bully her, we three will come at you with kitchen knives.”
“How could I bully her? I cherish her too much,” Chen Mo laughed.
“Eww~ still feeding us dog food even at graduation,” the three said in unison, making faces of disgust, then burst into laughter.
“Chen Mo and Xiaoyu, take a photo together,” Li Ruoxi said, holding up the camera.
“Princess carry!”
“Kiss!”
“Come on, put on Chen Mo’s gift and take a photo.”
Zhou Tongtong and Wang Xiaolan joined in the fun, full of laughter and joy. The photo session lasted over two hours. Only when they were satisfied did the five of them go to eat.
That night, back at the villa, Xiaoyu became melancholy.
Graduation season is a time of joy, but also a time of parting. Once they separate this time, no one knows when they will meet again.
“What’s wrong?” Chen Mo walked over to Xiaoyu and asked.
“Nothing. I just feel like four years passed in the blink of an eye,” Xiaoyu said, composing herself.
“All good things must come to an end.”
As Chen Mo spoke, his phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, he smiled, answered the phone, said “yes” a few times, then pulled Xiaoyu and headed outside. “No need to be melancholy. Something that will make you even more melancholy is here.”
“Where are we going?” Xiaoyu asked.
“The ‘ugly’ daughter-in-law must meet the parents,” Chen Mo laughed.
“Your parents are here?” Xiaoyu immediately became nervous. “Should I prepare something? No, I need to change clothes first. I need to tidy up the house again…”
“Let’s go.”
Seeing Xiaoyu flustered, Chen Mo laughed and firmly pulled her out of the villa, heading towards the station.
