Chapter 8: Grandmaster Consciousness
Chapter 8: Grandmaster Consciousness
A terrifying, super-enormous energy existed beyond the Multiverse in the Brain Hole World.
That was an indescribably massive energy that horrifyingly exceeded Bai Ge’s imagination.
He knew that in the Brain Hole World, it was his zone of imagination, so how could there be something that surpassed his imagination?
“I cannot control this—it is the energy from Reality! This… how is it in my Brain Hole?” Bai Ge was shocked, and he said, “What else is there in my Brain Hole that I don’t know about?”
“Only this thing. It is the only entity in your Brain Hole World with an unknown origin,” Ling Dang said.
“Then how do you know about it?”
“Through habitual thinking.”
“What do you mean?”
Ling Dang explained, “I am a part of you, but the biggest difference between us is that you are an Earthling.”
“Your habitual thinking assumes that beyond the Multiverse in the Brain Hole is Reality… so you explored the Brain Hole World but never detected or sensed this real energy, because it exists beyond the Multiverse while still being within your Brain Hole.”
“I am different. I was set by you as the Great Dao—a manifestation of your subconscious plus some settings—and I do not ignore it.”
Bai Ge quickly understood and said, “I see, I have already shared it…”
He recognized what was happening: plainly, this energy existed in the “non-existent” realm.
The Multiverse was his setting, and when he arrived, there was already a Universe there, set by his subconscious.
This habitual thinking made him believe that in the Brain Hole World, there was only the Multiverse, so he equated them.
However, it was inaccurate because the Brain Hole World was truly infinite—imagination had no limits, so the Brain Hole had no limits.
In contrast, the Multiverse was relatively finite.
And yet, there was an energy beyond the Multiverse, a product of Reality, so powerful it surpassed imagination, and it was something his will could not affect.
Yes, he could influence real inanimate objects, but that consumed his physical stamina.
Clearly, his physical stamina was insufficient to affect this terrifying energy, so it elicited no reaction or detection from him.
Because of this, it forcefully stayed in the place Bai Ge considered non-existent.
Simply put, Bai Ge’s subjective consciousness did not know that beyond the Multiverse, there was still a “place.”
“Was I the one who opened this Brain Hole because of it…”
That was an almost obvious thought because that mysterious energy was enormous to the point of being horrifying.
“I don’t know,” Ling Dang said honestly.
“Forget it. With energy this vast, it’s impossible for me to influence it…” Bai Ge decisively stopped thinking about it and instead continued studying the Information.
“All that you know is what I know, and indeed any Information existing in the Brain Hole World can be accessed by me… except for that energy.”
“Meaning that…”
In an instant, Bai Ge acquired all the knowledge he had collected just now.
Soon, he solved that advanced mathematics problem with the same answer as Ling Dang.
“I’ll verify it…” Bai Ge suppressed his excitement, returned to Reality, and searched online for the solution to that problem.
After verifying one by one, he finally smiled.
“The answer is correct… I actually solved this kind of math problem.”
It was evident that Bai Ge had discovered a great divine skill.
Suddenly, Bai Ge brainstormed and, based on this line of thinking, thought of many uses.
Besides conventionally learning knowledge and becoming an authority in various fields.
The greatest wonder was that he could shorten the learning process.
Take the simplest example: martial arts!
How long does it take in Reality to master a proper set of combat techniques?
This time might be decades; even the most genius person couldn’t become a master in a few days!
But Bai Ge could.
Because Information unidirectionally applied.
Bai Ge searched online for materials on Tai Chi, including various videos.
Of course, it wasn’t just Tai Chi exercises, but genuine Chen-style Tai Chi.
Bai Ge brought it into the Brain Hole World.
Unsurprisingly, both Bai Ge and Ling Dang completely mastered it instantly, to the point of being extraordinary.
It wasn’t that his Tai Chi was truly extraordinary, but that it was so based on these materials—whose authenticity was uncertain—that he mastered it.
He didn’t have any concept like learning eighty or ninety percent; once he knew it, he knew it one hundred percent.
“Is this Chen-style Tai Chi real kung fu? How powerful is it?” As he spoke, Bai Ge performed a set himself.
Just as he started his opening move, the entire immortal Universe trembled.
The Star Cluster moved with his hand; a single Tai Chi opening stance directly stirred up the Star Ocean.
The spiritual energy in the Universe reverted to its origins, shifting toward the four fundamental forces. If Bai Ge continued this set of punches, the Universe risked splitting into duality and returning to Chaos…
“What the hell?” Bai Ge was startled and immediately stopped boxing.
“Didn’t I ask you to filter out arbitrary thoughts… fine. I understand. In this immortal Universe, this set of punches is the top-tier sacred martial art…”
Ling Dang said, “Indeed, it’s not that the rules were altered again, but the existing Natural Laws of this immortal Universe adapted to this boxing set, classifying it as… the ultimate technique. With your Earthling body, using this ‘sacred martial art’ naturally led to stirring the stars and reforming the elements of wind, water, and fire.”
Bai Ge smiled wryly; he instantly grasped the cause.
Plainly, compared to Reality, the Universe he created was too naive…
Despite people here being able to cultivate immortality, achieve eternal life, and destroy heaven and earth, in actuality, the highest-level cultivation technique in this Universe, in its substantive meaning, would equate to merely an ordinary set of combat techniques in the real world.
This was measured by Bai Ge himself; he had studied fighting at the police academy, and his “level” was the maximum level in this Universe.
Only because it was in the Brain Hole World could the manifestations be arbitrarily set.
So, how did the fighting he practiced at school compare to Chen-style Tai Chi? Clearly, it fell far short.
Therefore, after Information from Reality invaded, the immortal Universe adapted to Chen-style Tai Chi and represented it as… “the enhanced technique many times more powerful than the strongest one.”
This resulted in the current situation.
“It seems I can’t demonstrate it here; I’ll have to go to Reality.”
Knowing he had no terminal illness and having opened the Brain Hole, Bai Ge’s mindset improved significantly.
Early in the morning, he went to the park for a workout.
He actually had a habit of morning workouts before, just running or practicing captures.
Today, he was performing a set of Tai Chi—not slow-motion exercises, but actual fist techniques.
“Indeed, it’s real kung fu. Even though my physical fitness hasn’t changed at all, if I fought against my former self, it would be over in one move…”
Bai Ge practiced set after set, even incorporating spontaneously varied moves.
This was to let his body adapt to Tai Chi and form muscle memory.
After all, his mastery was purely mental… it felt as though he had practiced intensively for decades.
But his physical body remained the same.
Even so, Bai Ge was confident he could take on ten men.
He had always been good at fighting; now with this “master-level consciousness,” he was half a master already. Moreover, the Chen-style Tai Chi was probably a top-tier technique.
“My moves have become much smoother, with coordinated breathing. Practicing this long doesn’t tire me at all; I actually feel more energized…”
As he practiced repeatedly, Bai Ge felt both excited yet disappointed.
His excitement stemmed from his self-defense capability skyrocketing out of nowhere.
His disappointment came from achieving such perfection without any strange phenomena occurring.
There was no trace of the “true energy” often seen in novels.
The facts proved it: reality was reality. This was simply a martial art combining combat and health preservation.
“Sigh, I still hoped to cultivate immortality…” Accepting there was no “Mystery Side” in reality, Bai Ge could only temporarily give up.
After practicing and feeling reassured, Bai Ge returned to his residence.
His residence doubled as his “shop.”
There was no signboard nor promotional tactics. Clients only found this “Bai Ge Agency” through word of mouth.
In short, the agency wasn’t very formal. Bai Ge didn’t seek fame, preferring low-key work for pay.
Normally, if there was no work, he would have to go out looking for jobs. He’d carry his little notebook, see who urgently needed help, and volunteer.
But now, without the pressure of a terminal illness, Bai Ge wasn’t in a hurry to find new clients.
He had instead fallen in love with martial arts.
He was a kung fu enthusiast. Though he knew reality held no such miraculous martial arts, with this chance now, he couldn’t help but learn.
These days, any kind of “secret manual” could be found online.
Wanting to learn boxing sets, he could directly find videos.
Of course, the true essence usually required a master teacher, but Bai Ge skipped that part.
Experience became far less important. Without needing a gradual process, as long as the material was detailed enough, Bai Ge learned anything to perfection! To its absolute limit!
It was either zero or one hundred percent.
For in the Brain Hole World, there were only two kinds of things for Bai Ge: created things, and the act of creation itself.
Profound martial arts from reality, no matter how advanced—even capable of destroying the Universe in the Brain Hole World—what did it matter? They were still mere “created things,” inferior to the power of creation itself!
A technique for slaying gods was trash.
A technique for annihilating millions of gods was just slightly less pathetic trash.
As the Absolute Sovereign, concepts like complexity, difficulty, or obscurity… simply did not exist for him.
Because he passively maintained omniscience over the Brain Hole.
Of course, this outrageous power was confined to the Brain Hole.
Outside in Reality, those unreal martial arts weren’t even worth trash…
Therefore, if Bai Ge wanted to learn, he would only learn real-world arts.
Soon, two months passed. Bai Ge had almost exhausted all the relatively authoritative martial arts knowledge available online.
Including ancient and modern Chinese combat arts, alongside fighting techniques from every corner of the globe.
In the realm of combat, within the sphere of martial arts… Bai Ge was now the true “Greatest Master of Verbal Kung Fu”!
His consciousness condensed the decades of attainment of hundreds of martial artists from various schools.
In terms of breadth of fighting styles alone, his knowledge was unparalleled, rare in the world.
This was an immensely formidable consciousness, potent enough to compensate for Bai Ge’s physical shortcomings.
But regarding actual combat prowess—without a single real test—Bai Ge didn’t know just how capable he had become…
“Pity, being this skillful nowadays seems rather useless.”
“Probably still taken down by a single bullet.”
