Chapter 16: Small Teleportation Cloud Talisman
Chapter 16: Small Teleportation Cloud Talisman
Completely losing his fighting spirit, Carrot Riding a Rabbit became a total target. In the end, Ye Rong took his life with a newly generated Water Talisman.
“They were lucky!”
The equipment dropped by that pair were all worthless, non-attributed trash. Ye Rong simply discarded them directly to save space in his Universe Pouch.
Items of the same type, like potions and materials, stacked in groups of twenty and could occupy one space slot. However, equipment took one slot per piece and couldn’t be stacked. With only twenty slots in his Universe Pouch, it filled up quickly with just a few items, making Ye Rong yearn even more for gear with internal storage space.
Generally, only bracelets, rings, and belts could have the storage space attribute. Any accessory with storage space had a trade value that could rival ordinary Magic Treasures and Flying Swords, far surpassing regular clothing and gear.
This first PK encounter in Far Shore ended with a perfect one-versus-four victory, which made Ye Rong very happy.
What Murong Dashan dropped was a yellowed page, but it had a silver border about one finger’s width on all sides, engraved with mysterious and intricate patterns.
Small Teleportation Cloud Talisman: Allows the user and allies to instantly teleport to any designated location within thirty meters (maximum of five people for teleportation). Remaining uses: 3/3.
“Wow, how did Murong Dashan get something this good!”
As soon as Ye Rong saw the properties of the Small Teleportation Cloud Talisman, his jaw dropped in astonishment, and it stayed that way for a long time.
As a consumable talisman, the Small Teleportation Cloud Talisman was of the same type as the Earth Deity Talisman and the Dragon Riding Light Escape Talisman, but its grade was clearly much higher.
Being able to instantly reach a specified location while bringing teammates along—such an attribute was a treasure whether for boss fights, tackling difficult quests, or during PK team battles. Using it at a critical moment could be unexpected and turn the tide of the entire situation.
Considering that even an Earth Deity Talisman required killing a Great Water Turtle as a quest reward, Ye Rong couldn’t imagine what method was needed to obtain a high-level talisman like the Small Teleportation Cloud Talisman.
“Did that Murong Dashan also get an Immortal Mansion Key like I did, or did he complete a hidden quest?”
This question didn’t bother Ye Rong for long. After all, he had obtained this high-level talisman with three uses. He figured Murong Dashan must be really upset right now. Earlier, Ye Rong had been somewhat disappointed that he didn’t manage to loot Murong’s pointed hammer, but now it seemed the value of this Small Teleportation Cloud Talisman was far beyond that of a pointed hammer—it could be more than ten times greater.
With all the disruption from these people, Ye Rong’s originally smooth leveling had been interrupted for quite a while. He ran back to the Corrupt Treant spawn point and saw a large number of Corrupt Treants gathered in one area, likely the monsters that Murong Dashan and his group had pulled and hadn’t dispersed yet.
In the Starter Village, apart from the Mountain Ghost and Black Wind Panther, which were aggressive monsters, all other monsters would only counterattack after being attacked—this was a form of protection for new players. Otherwise, pulling a group would result in a dense crowd of monsters following, and new players would find it hard to level up.
Ye Rong was quite satisfied. He didn’t have to search for newly spawned Corrupt Treants after killing one; he could just stand there and attack freely. Having wasted some time earlier, the top player on the Level Ranking was already Level 14, and Ye Rong was falling further behind.
Fortunately, with an additional cotton robe focused on defense, Ye Rong’s defense had increased a lot. The damage dealt by Corrupt Treants was no longer unbearable.
After clearing out nearly twenty Corrupt Treants gathered nearby, Ye Rong finally reached Level 10 with 11% progress. Maintaining this speed, he hoped to reach Level 11 by tonight.
Just thinking about that guy named Xuan Yuan Tianxia already being Level 14 filled Ye Rong with all sorts of envy and resentment.
Ye Rong had heard of Xuan Yuan Tianxia’s name before—he was the boss of the Xuan Yuan Studio, a professional studio that ranked within the top twenty in the industry. However, studios primarily aimed to make money, and their recruitment conditions were strict, accepting only the elite among the elite. Thus, they couldn’t really compete with large guilds in terms of numbers in the game.
Could it be that Xuan Yuan Studio was planning to change its approach in Far Shore, establish a guild, and compete for dominance?
At Level 15, players could choose their desired Sect. After joining a Sect, they would gain access to various Sword Art Forms, Qi Refining Techniques, True Scriptures, as well as a variety of Flying Swords and dazzling Magic Treasures. That was when the truly spectacular part of Far Shore would begin; everything up to now was just a prelude.
Since Corrupt Treants were Level 8 monsters, the Experience Points from killing them felt a bit low after Ye Rong reached Level 10, and his leveling efficiency was much slower than before.
Ye Rong’s current problem was that although he had a Third-Grade Immortal Weapon like the Taixuan Ice Soul Sword, he couldn’t meet the equipping requirements yet. The Peach Wood Sword he was using had low damage stats, making it somewhat unsatisfying to wield.
“Should I go kill the Mountain Ghosts ahead?”
Ye Rong frowned as he pondered. He had cleared out all the Corrupt Treants in this area, leaving only a few scattered ones that would take some time to respawn.
Mountain Ghosts were Level 10 monsters with extremely high attack, high defense, low health, and an active spell called Mountain Power Strike. After using it, their next three attacks would respectively increase Strength by 8 points and damage by 6 points, Strength by 10 points and damage by 8 points, and Strength by 12 points and damage by 10 points. Ye Rong had already reviewed these basic monster stats on the official website.
The damage increase was one thing, but the 8/10/12 point Strength boost was terrifying, especially since Mountain Ghosts already had high Strength. Ye Rong even wondered if he might get punched flying by a Mountain Ghost using Mountain Power Strike.
However, monsters with high defense and low health always had exploitable weaknesses. Plus, the Peach Wood Sword in his hand had a special restraining effect on Mountain Ghosts: +1 damage to evil spirits and spectral entities.
“I’ll go check it out first. If it’s not suitable, I can always find another spot!”
Without further hesitation, Ye Rong lifted his Peach Wood Sword and headed towards the nearby hillside shrouded in gloomy energy. The sight alone told him there was no need to hesitate further.
…
Since no new Starter Villages were added, the total remained at ten thousand, so each Starter Village was allocated about two thousand players on average.
Murong Dashan appeared next to the resurrection stone in the Starter Village, his eyes blazing with anger. His rage towards Ye Rong had reached its peak.
“Ah!”
After taking just two steps, he suddenly let out a high-pitched scream, drawing surprised glances from nearby Players.
“Darn, my treasure! Yijian Kurong, I’ll kill you every time I see you from now on! I’ll definitely kill you back to Level 1! It’s a fight to the death!”
Murong Dashan’s eyes were bloodshot, and he looked insane as he fiercely punched the wooden wall beside him, venting his hatred and frustration.
System: Your teammate Rabbit Eating Carrots has died.
System: Your teammate Carrot Riding a Rabbit has died.
A moment later, Rabbit Eating Carrots and Carrot Riding a Rabbit emerged from the resurrection stone’s light circle. By then, Murong Dashan had vented his anger, and his hands hung weakly at his sides.
