Chapter 132: It’s Not Over

Recalling the file contents in his thoughts and executing his movements seemed like two entirely separate processes, not disturbing each other.

Yet, he felt no pain, still mechanically trying to reach for Gecko with a hand.

His movements were wooden and bizarre.

The other card players scrambled away in terror. The two bunny girls shrieked at the top of their lungs.

Amidst this chaos, even the Puppet-Type Ability User in the Crimson Suit seemed slightly taken aback.

He hadn’t expected his two Psycho-modified Humans to be neutralized so easily.

Looking resigned, he merely laughed wryly and stayed seated where he was.

Gecko glanced at Lu Xin, then reached to grab an Ability User suppressor from his belt, preparing to secure the man first.

But at that precise moment, Lu Xin suddenly looked sharply to one side.

Mother stood calmly in the midst of the chaos-filled room, smiling gently at him.

“It’s not over yet…” she said.

Lu Xin’s alertness spiked instantly.

His ears immediately picked up on a faint beep… beep… sound coming from somewhere in the disordered room.

“There’s still more!”

He grabbed Gecko, who had been steadily advancing, and his gaze fixed on the Psycho-modified Human lying motionless by his feet—the one whose spine he had shattered.

Only her eyes were still open, staring blankly at Lu Xin.

The beeping was emanating from her abdominal cavity.

Lu Xin’s eyes darted, seemingly piercing through to see a small, electronics-packed bomb nestled in her abdomen. A red light on it was blinking, growing faster and more frantic. His brow furrowed.

Gecko, following his stare, gasped in shock.

“Fuck!” he swore, instinctively grabbing Lu Xin to haul him out of the room.

Lu Xin didn’t budge. Instead, he dropped down with lightning speed, pinning the Psycho-modified Human firmly.

Crunch…

The moment Lu Xin’s hand touched her, the Psycho-modified Human’s body violently contorted.

Her arms, torso, head, legs, waist, and abdomen folded and compressed instantly in a horrifyingly unnatural way.

It looked like a paper doll violently crumpled into a tight ball by immense, invisible force.

The bomb in her abdomen was crushed within the very center of the mass.

Then, Lu Xin stood and stepped back immediately, simultaneously thrusting the compressed human bundle forward.

BOOM!

The compressed Psycho-modified Human detonated.

Bits of flesh and blood sprayed across the room.

The Bomb wasn’t overly powerful. The containment provided by the folded body mass absorbed most of the blast.

Nevertheless, sheer pandemonium erupted instantly in the room. Screams pierced the air.

“What kind of Psychic Magnitude is that…”

Gecko, watching Lu Xin’s action, felt stunned within.

A Spider-Type could affect its own body, granting impossible contortion and blinding speed.

But folding an opponent like that instantly?

He’d never seen anything like it.

Pondering this, he also charged forward swiftly, his target being the other Psycho-modified Human he had jammed into the wall.

Since one Psycho-modified Human had a bomb in his stomach, the other likely wasn’t safe either.

Only someone who understood him would know to target the spine of a Psycho-modified Human first.

Doing that would trigger the bomb.

To be safe, Gecko swiftly severed the bomb’s wires before completely destroying the spine.

Even after the danger in the room had passed, the bystanders were still shouting in alarm.

By then, the entire room resembled an abstract painting, spattered everywhere with blood.

Lu Xin and Gecko could hear the turmoil erupting outside, but they remained calm.

Gecko looked over at Lu Xin with a smile, saying, “The town’s armed forces will probably show up soon. We’d better not rush into action. These are people bold enough to shoot at us. Perhaps we should explain the situation first before making arrests…”

Lu Xin glanced towards the corner. Mother was no longer there.

She seemed to have left the room when the bomb exploded, possibly worried about getting splattered with blood?

She always did like cleanliness!

With that, he swiftly slipped through the broken window and vanished.
