Chapter 123: Ambush
Chapter 123: Ambush
“And also, deal with everyone on the ship while you’re at it. To stop these idiots from trying any funny business.”
Charlie and Victor stood up, laughing loudly as they walked toward the cabin, leaving Peter alone on the deck, who helplessly shrugged his shoulders.
As the two entered the cabin hallway, some passengers were still walking out, looking confused and saying, “What’s going on?” Clearly, they had heard the earlier screams and cries and came out to check.
Among them was a woman with bright eyes, white teeth, and snow-white tender skin, a rare beauty indeed.
“Nothing.” Charlie licked his lips, a strange smile appearing on his face. The next moment, he pounced on one of the female passengers, tackling her to the ground.
“Ah!” The woman had just begun to scream when it turned into a cry of terror. Charlie bit into her neck, and blood sprayed out like a fountain. The woman struggled desperately, but there was no way she could break free from Charlie’s strength.
Several men nearby saw this and screamed in shock, rushing toward Charlie.
“What are you doing!”
“This madman!”
They tried to push Charlie away, but after taking only a few steps, a dark shadow flashed before their eyes. Victor had already appeared in front of them. His face had turned iron-gray, and sharp teeth emerged from his mouth. “Roar!”
Everyone who saw this scene was so frightened their legs went weak. Ordinary people had never seen such a terrifying monster. Before they could do anything, Victor charged forward and, in a few quick moves, knocked everyone to the ground.
Of course, considering the plan they had made earlier, he only knocked them out and didn’t kill them.
Meanwhile, under Charlie’s mouth, a tearing sound could be heard. He had torn a large chunk of flesh from the woman’s neck. Her neck was a bloody mess, and after a few twitches, she died completely.
Charlie gulped down the flesh in his mouth, but just as a satisfied expression appeared on his face, someone grabbed his right shoulder and threw him aside.
With a loud crash, Charlie smashed into a nearby cabin, causing a series of screams inside. Soon, the screams stopped, and another monster with a green face and sharp teeth rushed out.
Victor, who had thrown Charlie aside, was now feasting on the female corpse on the ground. Seeing Charlie emerge, he lifted his head like a lion, his blood-stained mouth open as he roared angrily.
Roar!
Charlie on the other side also roared several times, pacing around the woman’s body and refusing to leave.
“Get lost, Charlie.” The teeth in Victor’s mouth protruded a bit more as he snarled angrily, “This woman is mine now. Go find another one.”
Charlie growled threateningly a few more times, but upon seeing Victor’s strong body, he eventually walked around him and went down along the cabin floor. By now, more and more passengers were coming to check the situation. When they saw the bodies on the ground and the iron-gray-faced monsters, some fled, while some stronger men tried to fight the monsters.
But how could these people deal with Charlie and the others, who possessed the strength of Grand Completion of Qi Training and could perform Super Rapid Regeneration?
About a dozen men charged at Charlie with knives, spears, and clubs. But facing their attacks, he only showed a mocking smile.
The next moment, he let the clubs hit his body and the knives and spears stab through him. Charlie laughed heartily, grabbed one of the men holding a knife, and threw him aside.
The man crashed into the wall with a thud, who knew how many bones were broken, spat out a mouthful of blood, and passed out.
Seeing this, the others attacked Charlie even more desperately. However, the clubs and such left not even a mark on his body. Sharp weapons like knives and spears could create wounds, but often, shortly after the weapon was pulled out, the wound had already mostly healed.
“Mon… monster!”
Some of the more timid ones couldn’t help but turn and run, further scattering their formation. In an instant, Charlie defeated them one by one. Licking the trace of blood left on his finger, Charlie showed an intoxicated expression.
Unfortunately, all those on the ground were men, which didn’t match his target of finding a woman.
‘There should be women on the lower floors, right?’ Charlie smiled like a child who had run into a candy house. He continued down the hallway, casually knocking down any passengers he encountered who were fleeing, scouting, or resisting. However, remembering the earlier plan, he didn’t kill anyone.
Most of the ship’s crew were already dead, and almost all the passengers had no idea what was happening. They didn’t even have a chance to gather, come up with a plan, or decide on a course of action before Charlie would take care of them one by one.
Even at this point, two-thirds of the passengers on the ship hadn’t been knocked out yet, but for Charlie, it was only a matter of time.
He was more concerned about where he could find beautiful women to catch and bite. Thinking of the woman he had tackled earlier, who was taken by Victor, he felt very upset.
Just then, he had gone downstairs, stepping down the stairs. But as his foot landed, a sharp, stabbing pain shot up from the sole of his foot.
A slicing sound could be heard, accompanied by Charlie’s scream. A Dagger had been driven into his foot, then sliced upward along his ankle, shin, and knee, almost cutting his entire right leg open.
Charlie cried out in pain and fell down the stairs. Almost as he fell, he lashed out wildly around him like a beast. The wooden planks and stairs in front and behind him made cracking sounds.
But the person who had attacked him earlier seemed to have vanished like a ghost, causing all his counterattacks to miss.
Charlie half-knelt on the ground, groaning in pain. Looking at his blood-covered shin, where white bone was almost visible, he let out a string of curses.
Lifting his head, he noticed that the lights on this level had all gone out at some point. Then, with a slam, the cabin door at the stairwell closed.
“Heh, quite an interesting resistance.” In the pitch darkness, Charlie’s eyes emitted a green glow, like a wild wolf’s, as he looked toward the corridor. “Tch, it’s actually you, kid. Did Marie let you escape?”
In the darkness, Zuo Zhicheng saw Charlie’s green eyes directly looking toward where he was hiding and thought to himself, ‘He can see in the dark?’
Meanwhile, Charlie felt the wound on his right foot beginning to heal gradually and tried to stand up to run toward Zuo Zhicheng. However, as soon as he put weight on his right foot, he stumbled and fell toward the ground.
A numbness was spreading through his shin.
‘Was there poison on that Dagger earlier?’
