Chapter 137: Questions
Chapter 137: Questions
Although the entire Negentropy Research Institute and even the whole Human Civilization, considering Qin Yu’s safety, would not agree to have Qin Yu in the delegation for the first meeting between Human Civilization and Stuo Civilization,
But the whole process of this meeting was sent back to the ground in real time through cameras carried by the Human Civilization delegation and different cameras inside the Stellar City on Ganymede where both sides met.
Including Qin Yu, the leaders of the various research groups and institutes in the Negentropy Research Institute were also sitting in the meeting room at that moment.
They all paid close attention to the very first meeting between Human Civilization and Stuo Civilization the whole time.
Though because of the distance, it took over forty minutes for the pictures from Ganymede to come back to the ground.
If during the meeting, a problem came up that the delegation could not decide by itself, they would pause the meeting with the Stuo Civilization delegation right away.
After the message came back to the ground, Qin Yu, as the head of the Negentropy Research Institute, would make the decision.
For the Stuo Civilization side, things were probably the same way.
So even if it seemed like this was a meeting just between the two delegations of the two civilizations,
In truth, the two delegations were only acting like tools for the decisions of both civilizations.
It was really the decision-makers of both civilizations talking directly.
…
Under the watchful eyes of Qin Yu and a group of leaders from research groups and institutes at the Negentropy Research Institute,
After this first meeting between the two civilizations, the first stop on the schedule was a museum inside the Stellar City on Ganymede.
This museum was, in a way, made specially for the meeting between Human Civilization and Stuo Civilization.
Even though learning about each other’s past could help build trust between them,
Human Civilization’s history of fighting each other was not something that needed to be shown too much to Stuo Civilization at this time.
The history shown in this museum was pretty much a copy of what had been displayed at the Human Civilization celebration during the 30th anniversary of the Human United Era (HUE) a few decades back.
It let everyone see the big story of how Human Civilization went from being simple living things to facing the end of the world, then growing strong and going out into the Solar System.
Also, inside this museum, some art pieces from Human Civilization and a few objects with important history or special meanings were put there.
“Human Civilization is a strong and great civilization; this is a great epic of a civilization.”
After looking at the records of Human Civilization history in the museum, Sies, the head of the Stuo Civilization delegation, said this as praise.
“Thank you for your kind words, sir. We believe that Stuo Civilization, having come this far, must have a great history too.”
As the head of the Human Civilization delegation, Professor Qiu Yiming, head of Research Institute 011, replied like this.
This Sies of Stuo Civilization paused briefly, then gave a sure answer.
“Yes, Stuo Civilization also had a great history at one time.”
But Sies’ words stopped there for now, without going further.
On Human Civilization’s side, they did not hurry to ask more just then.
The visit went on,
When they got to the part in the museum that showed Human Civilization’s ‘love’ records,
Sies and the other members of the Stuo Civilization delegation stopped again.
This section was actually put there on purpose after talks before because Stuo Civilization had asked for it.
As said earlier, in Stuo Civilization, there are no differences like men and women, and they do not use two-sex ways to make more people.
So, Stuo Civilization beings might have feelings for each other, but this kind of history linked to two-sex reproduction never happened in Stuo Civilization’s past.
“Stuo Civilization once met other civilizations in space that used two-sex ways to keep going, just like Human Civilization.”
“We might understand this process from professional fields like biology, but we always found it hard to truly feel how this way of growing the population affected the whole society.”
Sies seemed to show some deep feeling.
“Friends from Human Civilization, you mentioned before that your people do not use this way to grow or add to your population anymore, so do things like two people coming together still happen in your society?”
Sies asked with doubt.
“Much less, but yes.”
Professor Qiu Yiming answered very briefly.
After that, both delegations went to the spot in the museum where the Human Reproduction Device was placed.
It was a copy of an early model of the Human Reproduction Device.
In museums across Human Civilization cities, you could mostly see something similar.
After all, it had big meaning for Human Civilization’s history over the last few hundred years.
But this time, it was here because the Negentropy Research Institute and HCC (Human Coalition) thought about it and chose to put it here on purpose.
When they got there, the Stuo Civilization delegation did stop walking for a moment.
But just like during earlier talks using radio signals,
Stuo Civilization was very interested in Human Civilization’s social ways, but for the Human Reproduction Device, which was the base for Human Civilization’s current society, they did not seem very interested.
“Sir Sies, in Stuo Civilization, do you have anything like the Human Reproduction Device that is common?”
“No.”
Sies gave a no as an answer.
“In Stuo Civilization, we still use the method of offspring splitting to add to our population.”
Now this was a bit odd.
Stuo Civilization’s skill in all areas was clearly better than Human Civilization’s.
From some bio skills Human Civilization had gotten from earlier tries to work together with Stuo Civilization,
You could also see that Stuo Civilization’s research in Life Science and biology was no weaker than their other fields.
“Inside Stuo Civilization, a similar technology did happen, but we do not think it is a good fit for Stuo Civilization. The ‘Decision-Maker’ felt the same way.”
Sies added this then.
The visit went on.
Inside the museum of the Stellar City on Ganymede,
The Human Civilization delegation and Stuo Civilization delegation stayed for about three hours.
Before leaving the museum,
Following the steps both civilizations agreed on earlier,
They also did the ‘exchange of gifts’ for this meeting right there in the museum.
Stuo Civilization gave Human Civilization seeds from two types of plants from Stuo Civilization that Human Civilization never had before.
Plus some gene info about these two plants.
Also, Stuo Civilization gave Human Civilization a piece of Stuo Civilization art, which was something like a sculpture—a round metal circle with a dark yellow center and a circle of bright blue around it.
Plus a book from Stuo Civilization that, when translated, could be called “Stuo Civilization Philosophy.”
This stood for Stuo Civilization and their home planet.
Human Civilization side also did as arranged before and gave Stuo Civilization a book of Human Civilization philosophy and society from the last few hundred years, titled “Family, Nation, Civilization.”
It was one of the things Stuo Civilization showed some interest in.
The trade of these two things really meant that both civilizations were moving towards closer talks with each other.
After that, the museum visit ended.
Soon,
The big part of this meeting between the two civilizations arrived.
For this meeting of the two civilizations,
Besides the meeting itself,
There was also some real work to do together.
But since the trust between the two civilizations was not that high at the time,
The real things to work on together were mostly just sharing ideas in some textbook knowledge.
This next part of the plan after the museum was set to happen at a college inside this Stellar City on Ganymede.
