Chapter 68: Lingering Thoughts
Chapter 68: Lingering Thoughts
Yi Ya bit a deep blood mark on Lü Yang’s hand, but Lü Yang still did not let go of her arm.
“Let go!” Yi Ya shouted at Lü Yang.
“When did I peek at you? I just came back early and found you bathing. I didn’t want to disturb you, so I planned to wait until you came out to talk. Later, when I heard no sound inside, I worried you might have been electrocuted by the water heater. I was concerned, so I came over again…” Lü Yang wore a bitter smile.
“You really didn’t?” Yi Ya looked at Lü Yang with suspicion.
“Why would I peek at you? I’ve always treated you like a younger sister. Would an older brother peek at his sister bathing? That’s nonsense!” Lü Yang angrily shook off Yi Ya’s arms, walked to his worn-out sofa, sat down, and turned on the TV with the remote.
Yi Ya went back into the bathroom. After a while, she came out again, dawdled over to Lü Yang, and sat down next to him on the worn-out sofa.
“Are you angry?” Yi Ya asked Lü Yang.
“Would an adult get angry at a child?” Lü Yang glanced at Yi Ya dismissively, then turned his attention back to the TV.
That glance at Yi Ya suddenly made Lü Yang’s heart beat faster… because Yi Ya had never appeared before him in pajamas like this before, and she was sitting so close to him.
When a girl wears pajamas, especially soft ones, it easily makes a man want to hug her. When Lü Yang fantasized about Yi Ya, most of the time he only thought of hugging her in a pure way. But with Yi Ya in pajamas, his desire to hold her grew even stronger.
“Did you get into a fight?” Yi Ya noticed Lü Yang’s torn clothes and some scrapes on his body, her brow wrinkling slightly.
“None of your business.” Lü Yang waved his hand at Yi Ya, his tone impatient.
“Hmph! Big man, petty heart…” Yi Ya pouted indignantly. “Did I bite you hard just now?”
“Hurt! It hurt a lot!” Lü Yang replied with three words, then shot her a glare.
“With your thick, rough skin, it still hurts? My teeth even got sore!” Yi Ya retorted unhappily. She felt Lü Yang shouldn’t bother arguing with her. Since she took the initiative to care, he should have said ‘It doesn’t hurt.’ She didn’t expect him to say it hurt, and even say it hurt a lot.
“Damn!” This time, Lü Yang only replied with one word.
“Vulgar!” Yi Ya shot back with two words.
“Go change your clothes. I’ll take you back over there.” Lü Yang replied calmly. She had just bathed and was sitting close to him in pajamas. His urge to hug her lingered; it was better to send her away early to avoid wild thoughts.
“It’s too late. I’ll sleep here tonight.” Yi Ya clearly had no intention of leaving.
“Sleep here? With me?” Lü Yang asked, somewhat surprised.
“Hmph! The bed is mine, the sofa is yours.” Yi Ya answered immediately.
“Why?” Lü Yang continued teasing Yi Ya. After experiencing the dangerous Mysterious Domain, he felt very relaxed now. Teasing Yi Ya was a great enjoyment for him.
When Yi Yi was here, this room felt like home to Lü Yang. With Yi Yi gone, the place became extremely cold and quiet. But Yi Ya in her pajamas made it warm and lively again.
“Why? You promised to lend me the place this week and said you’d call me before coming back. So, for these few days, the ownership is mine. Letting you use a worn-out sofa is already giving you face! Hmph!” Yi Ya’s little nose tilted upward.
“Fine then. You can have the bed, but I can’t guarantee your safety here.” After saying this, Lü Yang looked Yi Ya up and down, then chuckled.
“Hmph!” Yi Ya seemed completely unfazed by Lü Yang’s threat.
Having been around Lü Yang for a whole year, she knew exactly what kind of person he was. Even if he had some lustful thoughts about her, she knew he would never actually harm her in the slightest. And if anyone tried to hurt her, he would immediately turn into a raging lion, protecting her at all costs.
…
“Where did you go these past two days?”
Yi Ya looked around, her gaze finally settling on Lü Yang’s large travel bag. She immediately grew restless.
“Not telling you.” Lü Yang knew what Yi Ya was looking for.
In the past, whenever Lü Yang went out and returned, he would always bring back lots of local specialty snacks—for Yi Yi and Yi Ya. Even though Yi Yi was gone in this Parallel Space, judging by Yi Ya’s fixed stare at the bag, Lü Yang’s habit hadn’t changed from that Parallel Space.
“What’s in there?” Yi Ya then asked, her big eyes fixed unblinkingly on the large travel bag.
“A corpse.” Lü Yang gave a sinister laugh.
“Go on!” Yi Ya suddenly punched Lü Yang, then ran to the travel bag and unzipped it.
“Ah!!!!!”
Yi Ya pulled back her hands, staring at the contents of the large travel bag, her face filled with horror as she let out an extremely piercing scream.
“What happened?” Lü Yang was startled, leaping up from the worn-out sofa and rushing over in one big step to look into his travel bag.
Could there really be a corpse inside? After tonight’s events in the Mysterious Domain, Lü Yang was now easily alarmed.
“Ah! So many delicious treats!” Yi Ya finished her sentence, then laughed heartily at Lü Yang’s pale face, bending back and forth with mirth.
“You…” Lü Yang realized he had been tricked and raised his fist angrily.
“Want to hit me? Hit me then! Beat me to death!” Yi Ya put her hands on her hips, tilted her face up, and stared defiantly at Lü Yang.
Lü Yang sighed, shook his head, then gently tapped Yi Ya’s forehead twice with his fist and flicked her little nose before walking back to the worn-out sofa.
Yi Ya struggled to drag the large travel bag to the worn-out sofa, then took out the specialty snacks one by one, placing them on the coffee table in front of the sofa. Only these items remained inside now; the small bag containing items like the Iron Box with gold bars and U.S. dollars had been hidden earlier by Lü Yang.
Lü Yang was very familiar with Yi Ya’s tastes, so the snacks he bought were chosen with her preferences in mind. Especially the various kinds of pickled mangoes—even if they weren’t from Lutou Town, he bought whatever he could find locally because Yi Ya liked them.
Watching Yi Ya’s joyful excitement as she reached from one bag to another, Lü Yang felt deeply satisfied. It was a simple happiness, a warm feeling that didn’t require much expense. At this moment, Yi Ya, free of all her daytime pretenses, seemed to Lü Yang like a pure and mischievous child.
Like his… daughter… well, that’s how Lü Yang felt right now.
After opening all the food bags and sampling everything, Yi Ya covered her mouth with a few yawns, finally too tired to stay awake any longer and ready to sleep.
Yi Ya stood up, took a few steps, then turned back to look at Lü Yang.
