Chapter 40: Mountain Road

“I’m… sorry… you… where are you going?” The frightened female car owner closed the car door and pitifully negotiated with Lü Yang.

Lü Yang had recovered a bit by now. He checked his injuries. Luckily, he jumped off the ground at the moment of the collision, and the BMW slowed down and stopped in time. Lü Yang subconsciously glanced at the ID and driver’s license in his hand. The name on it was ‘Liu Hui’, from Guishe City. He thought his injuries weren’t serious and considered returning her ID and license, but decided to wait until they reached Lutou Town.

Fortunately, Liu Hui quickly found her mobile phone and contacted her aunt again, telling her the accident location. Her aunt told her not to panic and said she would bring people to rescue her soon.

“Your driving skills are really something… You won’t be happy until you kill me!” Lü Yang couldn’t help complaining to Liu Hui. If he had known this would happen, he would have taken the minibus to Lutou Town. Today, he had really met a disaster.

“Uncle? Where’s my uncle?” Liu Hui shouted outside a few times.

No one outside responded to her. Under one person’s direction, everyone pushed together and easily flipped the BMW out of the ditch. Lü Yang and Liu Hui, who had been upside down for a long time, finally returned to the normal world.

But as soon as Lü Yang got out of the car, someone put a knife to his neck and forcibly pressed him to the ground. Just as Lü Yang was about to ask what they wanted, the back of his head was hit hard several times, and everything went black as he passed out.

When he woke up again, Lü Yang found himself lying on the ground, his head hurting badly.

He heard talking. Lü Yang slightly opened his eyes to look and found he was in a room. The light in the room was dim, probably because it was almost dark. The female car owner who hit him, Liu Hui, was also there, tied to a large wooden chair in the middle of the room. Several layers of transparent tape were wrapped around her mouth.

When Lü Yang was attacked, he thought Liu Hui had called people to kill him to avoid paying medical fees. Now, seeing this, it seemed Miss Liu had been kidnapped, and he was inexplicably caught up in it, becoming a victim in her kidnapping case!

Lü Yang’s hands and feet weren’t tied. It seemed those people thought he was badly injured and about to die, so they didn’t pay much attention to him.

Now, besides Liu Hui, there were at least four or five men in the room. They walked around and talked in low voices. Lü Yang’s head hurt, and he couldn’t hear clearly what they were saying. He didn’t dare move now, thinking it was better to keep playing dead so they wouldn’t notice. If they thought he was dead, he might have a chance to escape. Lü Yang cursed inwardly. Wasn’t this task released too timely? Just when he thought about it, the task came out?

It seemed escaping alone wasn’t an option. If he didn’t rescue this disaster, two Eerie Points would be deducted from his account.

“Xiao Si, you stay here and guard. We’ll go eat first, and Xiao Wu will come relieve you later,” one of the men said to another after a while.

“Okay,” the man called Xiao Si replied.

Lü Yang felt secretly pleased. If all of them went to eat, he could take Xiao Si by surprise, find something to knock him out from behind. If he took down Xiao Si, rescuing Liu Hui shouldn’t be too hard. Then he would get two Eerie Points as a reward, getting one step closer to saving up 100 Eerie Points to bring Yi Yi back.

Just as Lü Yang was thinking his little plan, a man suddenly pointed at Lü Yang and asked the others, “What should we do with that guy?”

“Just kill him,” another man who seemed like the leader replied.

“I’ll do it,” a man said and walked over, picking up a thick iron pipe from the wall.

Watching the man raise the iron pipe high and swing it hard toward his head, Lü Yang couldn’t lie still anymore. He quickly dodged and kicked the man hard in the crotch.
