Chapter 18: Ferocity

Lü Yang turned his head and looked at Sister Mei again. After hesitating for a moment, he entered the Women’s Restroom. He went up to the stall door and raised his voice to ask, “Is anyone in there?”

There was still no response from inside, but the humming sound stopped. It was as if the ‘ghost’ inside had sensed something.

Lü Yang’s heart was pounding. He bent down and peered through the gap under the stall door. It seemed like something was moving inside, but the green glow was too dim to see anything clearly.

Lü Yang clicked on his small flashlight and shone it inside. The light landed on something red, tender, and moist-looking. It seemed… there was even some blood… Lü Yang couldn’t help but frown… What was that? Why did it look so familiar?

The stall door was suddenly pushed open from inside. The person inside saw Lü Yang’s flashlight shining and hurriedly took off her earphones. She used her hand to cover the spot where Lü Yang’s flashlight was pointed and screamed sharply, “Ah…! You… What are you doing!?”

Lü Yang looked up and saw the young girl in front of him, who was frightened to the extreme and blushing all the way down her neck. He immediately recognized her. This was no Female Ghost! Wasn’t she Xia Yan, the girl from the neighbor’s Duplex Apartment where Sister Mei lived? The one who had rushed over angrily earlier that evening to question Lü Yang about knocking on the wall all day.

That’s why she couldn’t hear Sister Mei calling from outside. The humming sounds were definitely her humming along to the song. Her Mobile Phone screen and buttons were set to green, so a faint green light emitted from the stall, making Sister Mei mistake it for a Female Ghost.

“I…” Lü Yang now understood what his flashlight had been shining on earlier. No wonder it looked so familiar to him, someone who often watched adult videos… This made him blush bright red.

“You dirty Migrant Worker! You pervert! Coming into the Women’s Restroom to peep! I… I’m calling the police!” Xia Yan covered herself with her hand, feeling ashamed, angry, and scared. She loudly threatened Lü Yang, wanting to stand up but hesitating.

If your Phantom Points remain negative before Zero Hour tonight, you will be erased from this world.” A voice appeared in Lü Yang’s mind. Only then did Lü Yang realize that he had actually, unintentionally, completed that extremely perverted Yellow Text Mission!

Holy crap! This was really both laughable and cryable…

“Ah… it’s all my fault… I got you mistaken for a pervert…” Sister Mei said apologetically to Lü Yang. Being accused by Xia Yan of having an affair with Lü Yang also made her feel somewhat awkward facing him now.

“Forget it. A brain-dead girl, who cares what she says? We walk straight and act rightly. Don’t pay too much attention to those words.” Lü Yang shook his head. Even though he was insulted, he hadn’t really suffered any loss. On the contrary, the one who suffered a loss and was now very angry and hurt should be Xia Yan.

“I won’t… Don’t worry. If she calls the police, I’ll testify for you. I absolutely won’t tolerate her slandering you like this!” Sister Mei assured Lü Yang. The neighbor girl Xia Yan had already run off and disappeared. The Residential Area became extremely quiet again, not even the sound of insects could be heard. Everything was silent, as if dead.

Lü Yang retrieved the Iron Shovel and, taking Sister Mei with him, wandered around the Residential Area for another large loop, but they didn’t find any trace of the Black Cat. Finally, Lü Yang led Sister Mei around to the area near her Duplex Apartment, close to a few Apartment Buildings, which was the direction the Black Cat had run toward earlier on the small path.
