Chapter 446: New Cat Replaces Old Cat But Gets Called Fat Cat
Chapter 446: New Cat Replaces Old Cat But Gets Called Fat Cat
Kanzaki Rin didn’t inform Sato Hayato about this matter, but told Fang Cheng instead.
This secret couldn’t be easily shared with Sato Hayato – revealing it might risk breaking up the couple.
Since Hayato had finally found a girlfriend, it felt cruel to imagine him suffering another heartbreak.
At any rate, keeping quiet wouldn’t cause harm for now.
Speaking of which, Sato Hayako truly carried heavy sins. First attracting Kujou Arata, now even catching the eye of his cousin.
Who knew if these cousins would become rivals over Hayako when they eventually met?
But none of this concerned Fang Cheng. Having stayed home for over a month, his body practically creaked with rust.
His daily routine involved exercising his abilities, gaming with the “Super Cool and Cute God”, or doing minor woodwork.
With Mechanical City stabilized and Kanzaki Rin securely holding political power, he needed to finally complete his long-prepared task – hunting monsters to stockpile Life numbers.
As he considered discussing this with Rin tonight, Qingxue emerged from the kitchen, placing tea on his coffee table.
Rin had initially removed all Fang Cheng’s competitors both to prevent his advances and address manpower shortages.
After a busy month, workloads lightened enough to grant everyone one rest day every three days.
Just when opportunities seemed ripe, Rin’s clever scheduling baffled them all.
She deliberately paired vacationers: Ye Yuqing with Nangong Saye, Qingxue with Uka Mirai, Takeda Masumi with Sato Mai.
Ye Yuqing and Nangong Saye’s constant bickering left no time to pursue Fang Cheng.
Uka Mirai’s presence prevented Qingxue from showing affection, while stopping Fang Cheng from questionable interests.
Takeda Masumi rigorously trained Sato Mai during breaks under Rin’s orders, leaving the girl too exhausted to bother Fang Cheng.
These arrangements proved Rin could’ve been a palace intrigue master in ancient times.
Though initially unpopular – especially with Ye Yuqing and Nangong Saye openly protesting – objections failed against Rin’s tireless example and vice leader authority.
Unbeknownst to all, she secretly rode the Blood Eagle with Fang Cheng every few days, watching sunsets and night scenery while discussing peculiar idioms.
Today being Qingxue’s day off, she still fulfilled her maid duties early while Uka Mirai slept in despite wanting to play maid.
Spotting Qingxue, Fang Cheng patted his thigh – their private signal.
Hesitating briefly, Qingxue transformed into her snowy feline form and leapt onto his lap.
Fang Cheng immediately began vigorous petting, savoring the luxurious fur.
The sole perk of receiving Qingxue from Iron Fortress was unrestrained cat-stroking privileges – something she’d never allowed others before.
Within minutes under Fang Cheng’s “miracle hands”, quiet purrs escaped the usually composed maid.
Crack!
At that moment, the living room window suddenly flew open, revealing half of a huge snow-white fat cat struggling to squeeze through.
“Ah Cheng, I’m finally here! Did you miss me…”
Tsukikage Chuxia’s voice died in her throat as she stared dumbfounded at the sofa, where Fang Cheng was stroking an elegant white cat.
What she saw wasn’t betrayal or green jealousy, but countless joy drinks and dried fish snacks rapidly disappearing from her future.
Both Fang Cheng and Qingxue turned to see a rotund feline wedged in the window frame.
Qingxue maintained her emotionless expression, completely ignoring the sudden intruder.
Fang Cheng’s face lit up with surprise: “Fat cat! When did you return?”
The boss lady had claimed all Fox Spirit House monsters would evacuate Tokyo and return to Mechanical City under his care. After waiting over a month without seeing even a whisker, he’d worried something went wrong. A message to Iron Fortress revealed they’d simply been delayed by relocation matters.
Tsukikage Chuxia had ballooned significantly since their last meeting. With the boss lady occupied at Iron Fortress and no one to restrain her, the formerly slightly chubby cat had fully embraced her gluttonous nature, transforming into an overweight monster now stuck in the window.
Ignoring Fang Cheng’s question, the fat cat finally found her voice: “Since when did you get another cat?!”
Fang Cheng looked puzzled: “You don’t belong to me either. What’s wrong with me having one?”
Though they got along well, Tsukikage Chuxia ultimately served the boss lady.
“You!” The trapped cat flailed her stubby legs indignantly. As Fang Cheng moved to help, she somehow squeezed through with a heavy thud that made her flabby body ripple.
Waddling breathlessly to the sofa, she glared up at Fang Cheng after catching her breath: “Ah Cheng! Did you forget our promise?”
Their original deal involved pets in exchange for unlimited joy and dried fish. His new cat threatened that arrangement.
“Our promise?” Fang Cheng struggled to recall.
Tsukikage Chuxia shot daggers at Qingxue: “And why this particular stupid cat?”
Fang Cheng tilted his head: “Aren’t you sisters?”
“Absolutely not!” the fat cat denied vehemently.
Qingxue glanced sideways, her sapphire eyes conveying light contempt.
“What’s with that look!”
Tsukikage Chuxia instantly bristled like her tail got stepped on, fur puffing up: “You Ice Block, get off Ah Cheng!”
Qingxue ignored her, lazily settling down to enjoy Fang Cheng’s stroking.
“Get off!”
Tsukikage Chuxia kept screeching with raised fur, her back arching into battle stance.
Fang Cheng finally got to compare the two cats. Though both denied it, the boss lady had told him they were twin sisters.
Their human forms and true bodies looked identical. Yet side by side, Qingxue appeared elegant with perfect curves while Tsukikage Chuxia resembled a fluffy ball, neither cute nor graceful.
One fat flaw ruins it all.
Qingxue’s indifference finally provoked Tsukikage Chuxia.
She pounced toward the sofa.
Qingxue dodged nimbly as Tsukikage Chuxia’s chubby frame crashed onto Fang Cheng, making the sofa creak.
The plump cat adjusted her position and leaped after Qingxue.
Both landed in the living room, facing off.
Tsukikage Chuxia’s bulk dwarfed Qingxue by five times – only a monster could grow this fat without bursting.
Qingxue crouched elegantly, tail swaying with composure.
Tsukikage Chuxia entered battle state, fur spiked and eyes sharp.
Fang Cheng watched curiously, wondering how monster cats fought differently.
After tense moments, Tsukikage Chuxia struck first, swiping stubby legs at Qingxue’s face.
Qingxue moved faster, her paws creating afterimages.
Slap! Slap! Slap!
The round-faced cat endured over a dozen hits, staggering dizzily. Her chubby paws flailed wildly, failing to touch Qingxue.
“Wait!! I wasn’t ready…!”
More punches rained down until Tsukikage Chuxia collapsed like melted butter, seeing stars.
Victorious Qingxue hopped onto the sofa, grooming her paws with a pink tongue.
“Cheaterrrr!”
Tsukikage Chuxia rolled on the floor, limbs thrashing: “I told you I wasn’t prepared!”
Qingxue stayed silent as Fang Cheng mediated: “Fat cat, you started this. Accept defeat.”
“Fat cat?!”
She rolled like her tail was trampled: “You called me ‘cute’ while petting me! Now you’ve got a new cat and break your promise!”
Fang Cheng remembered their deal and scowled: “You’re shaped like a meatball yet still want treats? Should I return you to Iron Fortress?”
Tsukikage Chuxia’s neck shrank. Being sent back to Iron Fortress in this state meant the boss lady would skin her alive.
“It’s not my fault!” she whined. “When Fox Spirit House closed and you left me alone, the pressure made me eat more!”
Fang Cheng felt guilty – he’d neglected Fox Spirit House despite the boss lady’s request.
“Enough lying around.” He rose from the sofa. “I’ve got a gift for you. Come.”
