Chapter 333: The Untouchable Turtle Shell
Chapter 333: The Untouchable Turtle Shell
“Shut up!”
Fang Cheng roared, cutting through Kitakudo Shingen’s inhuman speech. “I thought a cult leader like you would say something smart, but you’re just spouting nonsense about wiping out humanity? When’s the last time you brushed your teeth with that stinking breath?”
Damn. They’d assumed he was just some basement-dwelling figurine collector causing no real trouble.
Turned out he was a religious maniac worse than Asahara Nikkou.
Kanzaki Rin frowned nearby. At the very least, Kitakudo Shingen’s rant alone proved him guilty of crimes against humanity.
Not that such criminals were rare in this world.
Kitakudo Shingen’s smile vanished. He could accept his figurine army being destroyed, but not his grand vision being mocked.
“How rude.”
His voice turned cold, thickening the air in the chamber. “Take the soul stabilizer? Try. With your lives.”
Wakagi Kazuhiro had become a shivering ball in the corner, praying not to be noticed.
Kanzaki Rin felt the crushing pressure seep through her Blood Combat Suit, muscles locking tight.
Only Fang Cheng stood unaffected, the oppressive force mere wind against his face. “Should’ve started fighting earlier then.”
He instantly launched Paradise, Lying Demon’s Voice, and Consuming Desire – his three strongest mental attacks.
Kitakudo Shingen didn’t flinch. Not even a twitch. His mental powers dwarfed theirs completely.
When mind games failed, Fang Cheng went physical. Twin shotguns materialized in his hands.
BOOM! BOOM!
Steel needles supercharged by Flying Rain Needle and Blood Explosion tore forward.
An invisible shield deflected the bullets, sending ripples through the air like pond water.
Fang Cheng merged the shotguns into a rocket launcher.
KABOOM!
The blast shook the chamber. Flame cleared to reveal Kitakudo Shingen untouched.
Clean floor encircled his feet, surrounded by blackened explosion residue – like he stood inside a glass dome.
Fang Cheng grimaced. Wakagi hadn’t lied about Shambhala making Kitakudo invincible.
Iyaya’s “Son Buff” let Fang Cheng survive RPG hits, but never this casually.
With Shambhala’s boost, Kitakudo’s power might exceed even the Countermeasures Department’s ace level.
“Not bad.” Kitakudo Shingen raised a palm to his chest. “Great Power Heavenly Dragon.”
Fang Cheng suddenly felt a sense of danger rising in his heart.
His long-dormant Heart Awareness began warning him of imminent threat.
He immediately entered Overload Mode, grabbing Kanzaki Rin as he spun toward the temple exit. A Blood Eagle swooped to snatch Wakagi Kazuhiro mid-retreat.
Roar!
A thunderous dragon cry erupted from Kitakudo Shingen, sending visible shockwaves rippling outward. The temple floor, walls, ceiling, and giant statues shattered instantly under the crushing force.
Boom!
Terrifying pressure exploded toward the entrance like bursting floodgates, demolishing the doors and propelling debris forward in a deadly wave.
Fang Cheng landed on the temple’s front steps with his companions, still feeling the oppressive force at his back. When the roar faded, debris rained down like metallic hail behind them.
He clicked his tongue. What kind of madman destroys his own home during the first move?
“I’ll stall him! Find Shambhala’s core now!”
Fang Cheng pressed an item into Kanzaki Rin’s palm before hurling both her and Wakagi Kazuhiro skyward. A swarm of Blood Eagles erupted from his sleeves.
Kanzaki stabilized using her boot jets while Wakagi screamed, dangling from a Blood Eagle’s talons. Below them, Kitakudo Shingen emerged onto the steps, ignoring everyone but Fang Cheng.
The rivals stared across the stone staircase until Fang Cheng snorted. His thrusters flared, launching him airborne as blood-red cannons materialized across his Blood Combat Suit.
All martial arts culminate in one truth: artillery bombardment.
Flashes lit the chamber as nearly a hundred shells streaked downward like flaming meteors. Kitakudo stood motionless as explosions consumed him.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The underground space shook with continuous detonations. Fang Cheng maintained relentless fire, each salvo reducing more temple architecture to rubble.
Amidst the bombardment, Kitakudo’s voice sliced through the chaos:
“Great Power Heavenly Dragon!”
His dragon roar overwhelmed the explosions, shockwaves scattering smoke and flames to reveal him standing untouched. The steps beneath him remained pristine amidst surrounding devastation.
Fang Cheng’s thrusters strained against the pressure wave. He pointed accusingly, spamming Word Spirit Techniques:
“Imbalance! Collapse! Binding! Drown! Decapitate! Dismember!”
Energy ripples deflected every curse except Collapse, which crumbled the ground beneath Kitakudo. The floating monk simply rose higher, unharmed.
Fang Cheng grimaced. This guy wore defenses like an impenetrable turtle shell. How could anyone break through?
