Chapter 325: Are the Newcomers of the Countermeasures Department Monsters?
Shiva originally had four arms, but the Truth Cult added two more to prove their Shiva surpassed India’s version.
The Shiva statue charged at Fang Cheng with terrifying presence, each stomp creating large pits in the solid ground. Fang Cheng met the assault head-on, their six arms colliding in furious strikes. Techniques became irrelevant – this was pure contest of speed and strength.
Deafening impacts reverberated through the hall, shattering surrounding windows. Twelve arms whirled through the air, filling the space with afterimages as gale-force winds tore at clothing. Wakagi Kazuhiro staggered until Tamagawa Hidetaka steadied him.
Cracks echoed as Fang Cheng’s four arms shattered. He leaped back from the golden-glowing Shiva statue whose steel-like defenses remained unscathed. The repaired statues closed in from behind, trapping him between attackers. Wakagi Kazuhiro and Tamagawa Hidetaka tensed at the sight.
Crossing his arms in an L-shape, Fang Cheng unleashed Pure demon flames from his palms – a blazing light piercing Shiva’s chest.
“Powerful Zephyr Ray!” Tamagawa Hidetaki shouted, releasing Wakagi who fell forgotten as the man stared transfixed at Ultraman.
The Shiva statue melted under the flames’ high temperature, collapsing into slag. Fang Cheng redirected the inferno at the holy grail, reducing it to molten fragments. The remaining statues crumbled instantly.
Wakagi Kazuhiro rubbed his sore back while rising, relieved Kitakudo Shingen’s dreadful statues were destroyed. Thank gods he’d revealed his identity earlier – Kaneda Hideki’s ring bombs would’ve been useless, leaving them both dead.
As silence returned, distant shouts pierced the night. Fang Cheng dismissed his demon god power, reverting to normal form while covering himself with the Blood Combat Suit. Activating Advanced Smell, he detected approaching crowds.
Wakagi Kazuhiro paled upon recognizing the noise. “We’re doomed! We must-”
Blood surged from Fang Cheng’s body, coalescing into Blood Eagles that soared through broken windows. Gunfire and screams soon erupted outside. The eagles’ Flying Rain Needles and Blood Explosions functioned like autonomous drones, overwhelming the Truth Cult’s armed worshippers.
Fang Cheng tilted his head. “Securing all Nampoku Village needs more work, but defending this temple’s manageable. What were you saying about being doomed?”
Wakagi Kazuhiro wiped sweat from his forehead. “I… meant the Truth Cult will surely fall under your assault.”
These new recruits from the Countermeasures Department were all monsters nowadays?
No wonder these two dared storm the Truth Cult’s headquarters alone.
Fang Cheng turned to Kanzaki Rin. “Told you we should’ve barged in straight away. Your fancy plans wasted time – we’re fighting anyway.”
Kanzaki Rin snapped back, “That’s hindsight talking. I didn’t foresee Kitakudo Shingen having a stand-in.”
“Should’ve guessed. Big shots always use stand-ins.”
“You didn’t mention it earlier either.”
Watching their quarrel, Wakagi Kazuhiro blurted, “Crashing in wouldn’t help find Kitakudo Shingen.”
Both operatives swiveled to face him.
“Only I know his location,” the sweating man explained. “Others are clueless. Had you attacked, I’d have fled – leaving you stranded.”
“Then where’s he hiding?”
“Underground at Nampoku Village. Claims he’s building legendary Shambhala. Never resurfaced since entering five years ago.”
Wakagi pointed downward, producing a key. “This unlocks the underground door. But take my advice – return with reinforcements first.”
Kanzaki Rin narrowed her eyes. “Why?”
Fear flashed across Wakagi’s face. “Kitakudo’s invincible there by Shambhala legends. Whatever you want, you can’t beat him.”
“We seek the soul stabilizer he stole from Blissful Faith,” Kanzaki Rin clarified. “Know about it?”
“Ah! That changes things.” Wakagi shook his head. “He keeps that device close – won’t part with it.”
“Can you lure him out?”
“Impossible!”
Fang Cheng snatched the key. “Then we go in.”
“Aren’t you afraid of Kitakudo’s wrath?” Kanzaki Rin pressed.
Wakagi smirked. “He’ll never know… unless you tell him.”
As laughter spread, Tamagawa Hidetaka nervously joined in. The mirth died when Kanzaki Rin lunged, seizing Wakagi’s arm and sweeping his legs.
Thud! The obese man crashed down, arms twisted behind his back. Tamagawa yelped as Fang Cheng’s blood morphed into binding ropes.
“Release me! What’s this?” Wakagi squirmed, betrayed.
“Your game,” Kanzaki Rin hissed. “Why push us to fight Kitakudo?”
“I warned you to retreat!”
“To bring reinforcements,” she countered. “You called this cult home. Surely you know exposing their crimes would destroy it.”
Wakagi went limp, defiance draining like air from a pierced balloon.
