Chapter 301: How Did You Fall Down Before I Even Tried?
Chapter 301: How Did You Fall Down Before I Even Tried?
Surrounded by so many firearms, Ye Yuqing’s face furrowed slightly beneath her mask.
She could use more power, but this body might not withstand it, potentially worsening the situation.
Seeing Ye Yuqing remain still, Tohsaka leaned back with his feet on the desk, sneering, “Aren’t you supposed to be strong? Let’s see how many bullets you can handle.”
Ye Yuqing turned and suddenly moved, her figure blurring as she lunged at him with trailing afterimages.
Tohsaka hadn’t expected her to attack despite being surrounded. He screamed instinctively, “Shoot! Shoot now!”
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Intense gunfire erupted as countless bullets flew toward Ye Yuqing’s blurred figure.
Fang Cheng hiding in the shadows froze – he couldn’t tell if she was confident or just arrogant, completely ignoring the bullets behind her.
“Repel!”
He urgently activated Word Spirit Technique, solidifying air to deflect the bullets. Bodyguards behind Tohsaka also started shooting, but their bullets got blocked too.
Ye Yuqing had already vaulted over the long table, seizing Tohsaka’s neck and lifting his bulky body from the chair.
With their owner captured, the bodyguards hesitated to fire, fearing accidental hits.
As Ye Yuqing tried dragging Tohsaka away, the fat man suddenly grinned viciously.
“You think I built this place relying on mere flesh?”
His body abruptly ballooned, bursting through clothes as dark flesh masses rapidly expanded. Ye Yuqing dodged backward while several bodyguards got crushed beneath him.
Within moments, Tohsaka became a room-filling monster – only his central face remained recognizable, surrounded by tangled limbs and appendages.
He resembled black sludge enveloping human body parts. Legends say mud monsters form from swamp-drowned human corpses that ambush travelers.
“Run! Boss lost control!”
The bodyguards clearly knew Tohsaka’s monster identity. Instead of cheering, they panicked and rushed toward the office exit.
A sludge-arm crashed down at the doorway, crushing fleeing bodyguards and sealing the exit completely.
“Haven’t done this myself for years. Bit rusty.”
Tohsaka’s human voice emerged as he stared at Ye Yuqing. “Too late to surrender. See these hands and feet? You’ll join them soon.”
The crushed bodyguards were already merging into his sludge-body.
Ye Yuqing glanced subtly at the office’s sole window.
“Escaping?”
Tohsaka noticed. Thick mud sprayed everywhere, coating walls and sealing the window. The sticky sludge trapped anything it touched like swamp quicksand.
Ye Yuqing moved swiftly, easily finding gaps to dodge, but the mud kept multiplying. Tohsaka’s massive body slammed down, sealing all escape routes.
She had no options left – this was her current limit. More power would shatter her vessel.
She stood motionless as Tohsaka’s enormous form crashed toward her.
“Repel!”
A voice suddenly rang behind her.
A tremendous repelling force like an air cannon smashed into Tohsaka.
He moaned in pain as his bulk flew backward, crashing through the wall with a thunderous collapse.
Alarms wailed outside. Viewers in the boxing arena gaped in confusion while armed personnel swarmed in with guns.
Ye Yuqing slowly turned to see Fang Cheng standing an arm’s length behind her.
“Who are you?”
Fang Cheng murmured, reaching to remove her mask.
She offered no resistance. The revealed face was flawless yet blank, her gaze utterly alien.
She simply stared coldly at Fang Cheng without answering.
Tohsaka staggered up from rubble, glaring at the pair in the office. “Another one? Who are you people?”
Fang Cheng tested, “Are you the Goddess of Anger, Tsukimi Narumi?”
The Blissful Faith’s Dual Gods were the Goddess of Anger Tsukimi Narumi and the Goddess of Love Iyaya. Since leaving paradise, Iyaya had haunted Fang Cheng persistently while her wrathful counterpart remained absent.
Their doctrine stated anger and love were two faces of one deity – inseparable. Fang Cheng had assumed the angry goddess simply ignored him. Now it seemed she favored Ye Yuqing instead. Assuming this possessor truly was her.
“Hey! Answer me!” Tohsaka roared.
Ye Yuqing kept silent, icy gaze locked with Fang Cheng’s.
After waiting fruitlessly, Fang Cheng hardened his stare. “Whoever you are – negotiate directly. Leave her body.”
“ARE YOU IGNORING ME?!”
Still she wordlessly held his gaze, eyes deepening.
“Aaargh! You’ll regret this!”
Tohsaka’s rage overflowed. His swelling form clogged the space, advancing like molten earth.
Fang Cheng kept watching Ye Yuqing while snapping fingers at Tohsaka. A pillar of fire engulfed the mud monster.
Though mud demons fear no flames, these were Pure Demon Flames – burning demon power itself. Tohsaka howled, thrashing in the inferno.
The scene grew surreal – a flaming mud mass shrieking while two humans stared silently.
Done with stalemate, Fang Cheng moved to take Ye Yuqing.
Her body suddenly went limp, crumpling to the floor.
Fang Cheng: …
I barely touched you. Why collapse already?
