Chapter 8: Uncle-Master Wu Reappears
Chapter 8: Uncle-Master Wu Reappears
“Gouwa, stop messing around. I just got into the mood for fishing.” Seeing Wang Fugui like this, Zhou Yu suppressed his laughter as he spoke.
Wang Fugui’s expression changed, and he quickly bowed his head again. “Brother Universe, Master Zhou, I was really wrong. I won’t dare again. From now on, you are the only king of the kids in all our villages for miles around.”
“You’re still the same as before — surrendering as soon as you can’t win.” Zhou Yu chuckled. When they were kids and he couldn’t win, Wang Fugui would never persist; he would immediately beg for mercy.
“Brother Zhou, you’re so good at fishing. If I had known earlier, I wouldn’t have dared to show off in front of you.” Wang Fugui looked somewhat hopelessly at the fishing net beside Zhou Yu. He couldn’t catch that many fish in an entire afternoon, and there was even a very valuable Tuna.
Zhou Yu let out a light laugh. “Alright, since your attitude is so good, I can stop showing off my skills. But you still have to jump into the sea. Count how many fish there are yourself.”
Wang Fugui felt bitter inside, but he quickly nodded. He went over to Zhou Yu and pulled the fishing net out of the water. The entire net was full, not counting the Tuna just caught. He roughly counted; there were fifteen fish in total, several of which were high-value fish.
Especially that Yellowfin Tuna — it could almost equal more than half a month’s salary for an ordinary person.
“Ahem, Brother Zhou, there are fifteen fish in total,” Wang Fugui said with a pained face, no longer looking as imposing as before.
“Then what are you waiting for?” Zhou Yu gestured toward the sea.
Wang Fugui had no choice but to stand up, his face ashen. He walked toward the reef step by step, slow as a turtle. “If you go any slower, I might start fishing again,” Zhou Yu said calmly upon seeing this.
Hearing this, Wang Fugui moved like the wind, suddenly jumped into the sea, and then climbed back up, repeating the previous action. His already hole-filled jeans, soaked by seawater, looked even worse.
The people around watched Wang Fugui’s actions and couldn’t help but laugh, feeling deep sympathy. This young guy with dyed hair had picked the wrong opponent. In just over an hour, this young man called Brother Universe had caught fifteen fish.
Before long, Wang Fugui completed more than ten jumps into the sea and returned to Zhou Yu’s side. “I finished jumping.”
“Good. Carry the fish and come with us,” Zhou Yu said with a smile.
Wang Fugui’s expression immediately changed. “Little Universe, I finished jumping. What else do you want?”
“Oh, it seems you don’t want to eat grilled fish. Perfect, Biaozi and I will take it all,” Zhou Yu said casually.
Hearing Zhou Yu’s words, Wang Fugui was stunned for a moment, then his face lit up with joy. “Eat, eat grilled fish! Brother Universe, I’ll carry it, I’ll carry it. Biaozi, step aside. I’ll carry the fishing net.” The fish Zhou Yu caught were all good ones; it would be a waste not to eat them.
“Let’s go, Biaozi. We’ll lead the way.” Zhou Yu smiled and patted Li Tianbiao’s shoulder.
Li Tianbiao nodded, his face also full of smiles. They were all friends who grew up playing together; how could there be any deep hatred?
Arriving at the electric bike, Zhou Yu and the others put the fifteen fish into two fishing nets and hung them on the back of the electric bike, heading toward Li Guomin’s shop.
The many fishermen behind them showed looks of surprise. That young man called Brother Universe was broad-minded and not an ordinary person.
Then, many people reacted and quickly grabbed their fishing rods to fight for the spot Zhou Yu just vacated. “This spot is mine!” “Get lost, it’s mine! This place definitely has a school of fish; it’s a lucky spot.”
Zhou Yu, Wang Fugui, and the other two walked along the way, chatting about funny childhood stories. The previous tension had completely disappeared.
During this time, Wang Fugui couldn’t help but ask, “Brother Universe, how did you catch so many fish? Is there some secret?”
A mysterious look appeared on Zhou Yu’s face. “A secret? I hired a diver to hold dozens of fish and specifically put them on my hook in the sea.”
“What? No way. Can you really do that?” Wang Fugui stopped walking, saying in surprise.
“Wang Fugui, you dummy, you actually believed that? How could a diver dive in such shallow water?” The person beside Wang Fugui shook his head.
Wang Fugui also realized and quickly caught up. “Little Universe, you tricked me! Tell me the real secret…”
The four arrived at Li Guomin’s shop. When Li Guomin learned that Zhou Yu had caught so many fish, even a Tuna, his eyes widened like goose eggs; he simply couldn’t believe it.
By evening, Zhou Yu also brought his parents over. They ate a big seafood meal with Li Guomin and the others, with that Tuna undoubtedly being the highlight.
Originally, Li Guomin wanted Zhou Yu to sell the Tuna; it was a pity for them to eat it themselves. But Zhou Yu insisted on eating it, leaving Li Guomin somewhat helpless.
After dinner, Zhou Yu saw his parents home, then got on his bike, planning to go to the Old Family House.
Mother Zhou said with some worry, “Xiaoyu, are you really going to live at the Old Family House? No one has lived there for many years.”
“Mom, don’t worry. The Old Family House has electricity, and Huzi is with me. I’m going now.” Zhou Yu waved his hand, ready to ride the electric bike away.
Then, Mother Zhou seemed to remember something and stopped him. “Let me tell you something. Uncle Wang from the village introduced you to a match this afternoon. You’ll meet tomorrow; she’s from neighboring Xing’an Town, just graduated from university. Uncle Wang says this girl is pretty, fresh-faced, and sensible.”
“Mom, can I not go? I’m busy developing my career right now.” Hearing his mother’s words, Zhou Yu felt a headache coming on. Blind dates were an unspeakable pain for many young people.
Mother Zhou’s face fell, and she started scolding. “Meeting a match doesn’t affect any career. That girl has good conditions; she graduated from medical school and will definitely be a doctor in the future…”
“Mom, I’ll go, I’ll go, alright? I’m going back to the Old Family House first.” Seeing his mother starting her brainwashing routine again, Zhou Yu quickly raised his hands in surrender, then rode off on his electric bike, leaving a cloud of dust.
After arriving at the Old Family House, Zhou Yu rode the bike into the courtyard. He propped the gate shut firmly with several pieces of wood. The electric light in the yard had been broken for who knows how many years. Using the bike’s headlight, he fed the remaining fish in the yard to Huzi.
Then, he checked the condition of the Jade Dew. Its growth was very pleasing, much bigger than in the morning. Under the light, it looked even more crystal clear.
When it was almost time to sleep, Zhou Yu made a bed for Huzi in the hall outside the room so it could keep an eye on the yard at all times.
Lying in bed, thinking about the blind date tomorrow, Zhou Yu couldn’t help but feel a headache. He took out the Radio and fiddled with it, but there was still no sound. He couldn’t help but sigh. Did this Radio really need thunder and lightning to turn on again?
He played with his Mobile Phone on the bed for a while, then fell into a deep sleep. Around midnight, he got up to use the bathroom and saw the Radio glowing. Excited, he immediately picked up the Radio, turned it on, and rotated the tuning button.
“How have you two mastered the Spirit Gathering Array I taught you?” A slightly aged voice once again came from the Radio, making Zhou Yu’s face light up with excitement. Haha, Uncle-Master Wu, we meet again.
“Uncle-Master Wu, the Spirit Gathering Array is really amazing. The Spirit Grass became more vibrant,” two childish voices said with awe.
Uncle-Master Wu couldn’t help but chuckle and shake his head. “The Spirit Gathering Array’s effect isn’t just for Spirit Grass; it’s the same for us Cultivation practitioners. The entire Xuantian Sect has a top-tier Upper-grade Spirit Gathering Array set up, gathering the surrounding heaven and earth’s Spiritual Energy.”
“And within the sect, there are some smaller Spirit Gathering Arrays to distribute this Spiritual Energy for better use. Our herb garden also has a Spirit Gathering Array; the amount of Spiritual Energy allocated there is relatively high.”
Hearing this, Zhou Yu felt stirred inside. An Upper-grade Spirit Gathering Array—the concentration of Spiritual Energy it gathered was probably unbelievable.
Then, the Radio sounded with the two young disciples’ exclamations of awe again. Afterward, one young disciple’s voice spoke up. “Master-Uncle, this disciple has something to ask for your guidance.”
“Oh, go ahead,” Uncle-Master Wu said curiously.
“When I’m inside the Spirit Gathering Array, I feel very comfortable. When I leave the Spirit Gathering Array, I feel unwell. I think it’s the same for Spirit Grass. If it stays inside the Spirit Gathering Array for too long and is suddenly moved out and planted in an ordinary place, would it die?” This disciple voiced his confusion.
