Chapter 48: Most Wicked
Chapter 48: Most Wicked
Second by second, Chen Mo’s World Reputation continued to drop.
… -2000… -4000… -6000…
His World Reputation had fallen below negative 5000, yet no System Notification about an achievement title appeared.
Chen Mo remained unaffected and focused on repeatedly killing Jade Pheasants.
Negative one thousand World Reputation was definitely not the limit; surely there was an even more powerful achievement title out there!
-8000!
…
-9000!
…
-10000!
System Notification: Your World Reputation has dropped to -10000!
System Notification: You are now wanted by all human cities! A top-level warrant has been issued for you across all human cities!
System Notification: Your death penalty has been raised to S-rank! Upon death, you will lose 10 levels, drop all equipment and items in your possession, and resurrect in the “Land of Exile”!
System Notification: You have obtained the achievement title “Most Wicked”!
After more than three hours of slaying Jade Pheasants inside the Instance Dungeon, Chen Mo’s World Reputation finally decreased to negative ten thousand points!
Several System Notifications appeared at once, making Chen Mo perk up with alertness.
“So much fuss!” Chen Mo was startled at the sight.
At negative ten thousand World Reputation, he didn’t just receive one System Notification—several came all at once!
The top-level warrant, being hunted by every human city, losing all items and ten entire levels upon death! Any player who truly reached negative ten thousand World Reputation would have almost no chance of surviving in the game!
However,
Negative ten thousand World Reputation was also the point where Chen Mo finally obtained the achievement title he wanted!
Achievement Title: Most Wicked
Description: A special title obtainable only with World Reputation below -10000. The title must be equipped to take effect, but it will automatically activate if World Reputation drops below -3000.

Spirit +100

Additional Special Effects: Once equipped, the title cannot be removed for 72 hours. While equipped, the player’s name turns black, and the player becomes a target for all good-aligned human NPCs. Upon death, the player drops all equipped items and is forced to lose 5 levels. While equipped, the player gains favor with certain special NPCs, becomes part of the privileged class in the Land of Exile and City of Sin, and deals 30% more Damage, gains 20% more Defense, and increases item drop rate by 10% against monsters in the Land of Exile and City of Sin regions.
Additional Special Abilities: Power of Annihilation, Power of Concealment
—Power of Annihilation: Has a chance of annihilating the target when attacking.
—Power of Concealment: To avoid capture, you become more adept at hiding. The effects of Camouflage, Stealth, and other concealment-type skills are enhanced. Disguise-type items also gain improved effects.
Damn!
All attributes increased by 100, max HP and MP boosted, Movement Speed Cap jumped by 5 points, and even the super useful Jump Height increased by 2 meters!
In the Land of Exile and City of Sin, he would become part of the privileged class, with massively increased Damage, Defense, and drop rates against monsters in those areas!
Not only that, he also gained two seemingly awesome abilities: Power of Annihilation and Power of Concealment!
This Most Wicked achievement title was so overpowered it was practically anti-social!
It was truly too strong. The total attributes from all the equipment Chen Mo currently wore couldn’t even compare to this single title!
But the problem was, this title really was so anti-social—who would dare to wear it? If you equipped it, you’d truly have no friends. Wearing top-tier gear, only for someone nearby to stab you—not only would you lose a ton of levels, you’d drop everything! One night could send you back to square one!
If the achievement title was this crazy at negative ten thousand World Reputation, could there be even crazier ones beyond that?
Chen Mo was curious, but at that moment, his expression changed as he saw a squad of silver-armored guards pouring out from a nearby building!
On the ground, Bude saw the guards and frantically wriggled in excitement.
He had personally witnessed Chen Mo kill thousands of Jade Pheasants and had already lost all hope. Now, rescue had finally arrived.
Chen Mo guessed it was due to the warrant. He wasn’t far from Earl Town, and these guards probably had some special detection method that located him here before rushing over.
“Suicide!”
Although Chen Mo was very curious about what would happen if he got caught with negative ten thousand World Reputation plus ten points of Enslavement Level, he still had to hurry to Wild Wolf Valley today. He couldn’t afford any mishaps now, or he might miss out on the Flame Three-Headed Wolf quest.
Returning to the character creation space, Chen Mo made no changes and directly re-entered the game.
When he appeared in Goblin Valley, a group of young people at Canglan Technology Center stared at Chen Mo’s newly created character, unable to hide their astonishment.
If before they had thought this Hunter player was smart, full of ideas, and lucky, after seeing him blackmail Enoch and then use a Starter Village quest to obtain an insanely overpowered achievement title, they strongly felt this person was far from ordinary!
If they weren’t half Game Masters themselves, they might have suspected a GM had broken protocol and snuck into the game to play!
“Could it be that the data stolen by that person a month ago ended up in his hands?” one young man finally couldn’t resist asking aloud.
A month ago, an employee at Canglan Technology Center had stolen some game data. The employee was quickly caught, but it turned out a small amount of data had still been leaked.
“The leaked data was nowhere near as much as what he knows!” Someone shook their head.
The speaker thought about it and agreed. The leaked data was pitifully small, and knowing it or not wouldn’t help a player much—it wasn’t even as beneficial as the rewards some lucky players got from answering surveys.
…
Coming out of Goblin Valley, Chen Mo teleported back to Earl Town.
“So many people.”
Having committed suicide and restarted over ten times, Chen Mo had visited more Starter Villages than any other player. Arriving in this Earl Town, Chen Mo immediately noticed something unusual about it.
There were lots of people, and it was incredibly lively!
“Haha, pretty lucky to spawn in this Starter Village!”
“I killed myself for two days, five times a day, just to get to this Starter Village. Tonight, the boss kill is happening—it’s gonna be chaotic for sure. Maybe I can grab some good loot!”
“It’s not that simple. Do you really think those guys investing millions are just handing out gear? Finding a spot to just watch the boss die would already be pretty good!”
Many people were chattering away. After listening for a while, Chen Mo was taken aback.
He had respawned in the Starter Village where Glacier Game Club was gathering its members to kill the Flame Three-Headed Wolf.
A chance success—he knew many hackers who took on Worm Company’s commissions had ultimately failed to respawn here, but he had succeeded.
Glacier Group… hehe, this is gonna be interesting!
He didn’t need to be in the same Starter Village to mess with their plans, but since he was here, Chen Mo didn’t mind making things difficult.
But now, while it was still dark, he needed to get to Wild Wolf Valley early and find Grisen to activate the quest!
Once more people gathered, sneaking into Wild Wolf Valley would become much harder.
Carrying a pile of wolf meat and equipment, Chen Mo hurried toward Wild Wolf Valley.
