Chapter 186: Weapon Island

“Little Warrior, I’ll ask you one last time! Will you go back? If not, I won’t be polite!” Mount Tai glared at her, his face darkening as plain threats laced his words.

Little Warrior quickly glanced at Chen Mo, silently asking for guidance.

“No need to return. Just follow me,” Chen Mo reassured her.

“No!” Little Warrior cheerfully told Mount Tai.

“Buddy, don’t pressure me. I just need her help for one quest, a few hours at most. Once it’s done, you can take her anywhere! But if you refuse this small favor, don’t blame me for being ruthless! Think carefully! As a Blacklisted Player, dying would cost you dearly! Maybe you’re strong, but my team isn’t weak!” Knowing Little Warrior relied on the one with the Black Name, Mount Tai slowly turned his persuasion toward Chen Mo.

“Heh! This just got interesting!”

The sneaky Fatty Luo nearby couldn’t hide his delight. He quickly gestured his men to back up, not wanting to get caught in the crossfire.

“She’s my friend. If she’s willing to help you, I won’t stop her. If she refuses, I won’t stand by and let you force her,” Chen Mo stated calmly.

“Boss Mount Tai! This guy is only Level 25!”

A player behind Mount Tai discreetly used a Scouting Skill on Chen Mo. Seeing his Level, he reported it immediately.

Level 25?

Mount Tai paused. Right in front of Chen Mo, he activated his own Scouting Skill directly. Using it openly like this was a blatant insult in the game, but Mount Tai trusted his subordinate’s report and simply wanted confirmation. He didn’t care about courtesy.

Heh! Only Level 25? Daring to act tough? Kid, you must be tired of living!

Confirming Chen Mo’s Level, Mount Tai sneered coldly, his face shedding any trace of restraint.

His entire party averaged Level 30 – a full 5 Levels higher! A 5-Level gap meant even if this guy was exceptional, fighting them all was hopeless!

“Just Level 25?” Fatty Luo, standing nearby, was stunned. Then, he could only shake his head.

A Blacklisted Player at Level 25? Instead of hiding to reduce his Crime Value, he’s out here showing off? This guy truly has a death wish.

“Wasted opportunity,” Fatty Luo sighed inwardly. He’d hoped the Blacklisted Player and Mount Tai would weaken each other, allowing him to snag an advantage. Who knew this Blacklisted Player was completely unreliable?

Damn it, Chen Mo thought wryly. Been running around all over the place lately, haven’t properly focused on Leveling. Got passed by higher Lvl Players again. No wonder they dismiss me after seeing my Lvl. Facing Level 30s at Level 25? That gap makes their dismissal natural. If he saw a Level 20 Player, he probably wouldn’t take them seriously either. Especially since he had a party.

“So, what do you plan? See my low Level and wanna fight?” Chen Mo tilted his head. “Well… listen. My Level might be low, but my strength is ridiculously abnormal. If we fight, wiping you out would be a breeze! Really, I advise you all against seeking death.”

He genuinely felt pretending to be weak just to crush them was dishonest. He offered Mount Tai and his crew this sincere warning to reconsider.

“HAHAHA! Kid, still bluffing even when death’s knocking! What next? Do you frighten yourself when you fight?” Someone mocked.

“Seeking death? Show us how we’d be seeking death!” Mount Tai sneered.

Chen Mo’s words only provoked furious laughter from Mount Tai’s group.

Fatty Luo’s nearby crew were sweating buckets. This Blacklisted Player really knew how to make enemies. It was a miracle he was alive. His Black Name likely comes from pissing everyone off too much!

“Stop wasting words with this clown! Kill him! We have a Quest to complete!” Mount Tai roared.

Immediately, all six charged at Chen Mo.

Dammit! Brother was honest! They don’t appreciate it! Truth is hard to swallow, Chen Mo sighed internally. My words weren’t pleasant, but they were facts. Why the desperate chase for death?

This group didn’t look wealthy. Killing them might only net a few Blue Equipment pieces, maybe Green at best. He had zero interest in fighting them.

But since they insisted on racing toward oblivion… he’d reluctantly do them the favor.

“Sesshylow!”

“Mermaid Form!”

Chen Mo was still standing in the shallow water near the shore. Sesshylow emerged and shifted instantly into her Mermaid Form.

“Water Dragon Arrow!”

Chen Mo wasted no time on conversation. He directly ordered Sesshylow to attack.

A pitch-black water dragon surged forth from the ocean, roaring fiercely as it lunged at Mount Tai and his group.

“What Skill is that?!”

‘Water Dragon Arrow’ was a Skill few in the game had witnessed. Mount Tai’s team certainly didn’t recognize it. But seeing the menacing torrent rushing toward them, all six instinctively tried to dodge.

However, the water dragon twisted, tracking their movements!

BOOM!

Only Mount Tai, the leader, reacted fast enough. The other five were sucked into the vortex, unable to escape the pursuit.

Equipped with the “Blackwater Dragon Bow”, Sesshylow’s Attack Power reached an astonishing 1200! A single shot tore a massive chunk of Health Points—500 to 600 points!—from each of the five. Their Health bars plummeted by a full third!

Staring at the horrifying Damage numbers, both Mount Tai and Fatty Luo paled.

“So that’s how! No wonder this Level 25 punk has a Black Name and acts cocky! He owns a ridiculously powerful Pet!”

After releasing her Water Dragon Arrow, Sesshylow shifted again, returning to her normal humanoid Elemental Form.

Before Mount Tai’s group could recover, she activated “Swift Shadow Assault”, darting into their midst, and unleashed her “Hurricane Skill”.

“Holy f—!”

A swirling black tempest erupted instantly. This time, not even Mount Tai could evade; the entire party was swallowed by the raging vortex.

Fatty Luo couldn’t help but curse under his breath, wiping cold sweat. That Pet wasn’t just strong; it was monstrous! Facing those two Skills… anyone caught was dead.

Chen Mo walked over, intending to finish the survivors with a few strikes. But after only a few paces, he stopped, surprised.

He suddenly noticed Mount Tai had vanished from within the raging Hurricane.

“Escape after being sucked into the Hurricane? That’s rare,” Chen Mo mused. Sesshylow had slain countless Players with this Skill, but this was the first time he’d seen someone escape it. What’s more, he couldn’t even trace where Mount Tai had fled to. Whatever escape tool he used must have been extraordinary.

But Chen Mo wasn’t overly concerned. He was just a Warrior anyway. With his entire party dead, Mount Tai surviving alone was irrelevant.

The Hurricane dissipated. Despite the 5-Level gap, taking two of Sesshylow’s ultimate Skills was too much for the poorly equipped Players. Five corpses dropped from the fading vortex.

“Holy sht! That Pet… insane!”

“Dmn! How did that guy get so lucky? With that Pet, he’s practically invincible!”

Players in Fatty Luo’s squad stared, frozen. Snapping out of it, envy twisted their faces.

Fatty Luo himself stared with greedy, bright eyes. He quickly stepped forward, a wide grin plastered on his face.

“Brother! That was impressive! Wiped out that loser Mount Tai in seconds! Daring to mock you? He was truly asking for it! Speaking of which…” Fatty Luo leaned in, lowering his voice conspiratorially. “Where did you get that stunningly beautiful humanoid Pet? I’ve seen a lot in my time! Never encountered a Pet like this! It’s… it must be one of those legendary BOSS Pets! Rumors have flown about players catching them, but here one is in your hands!”

“Heh. It is indeed a Boss Pet,” Chen Mo chuckled with exaggerated smugness. “Want to know how I got it?”

Fatty Luo saw an opening! This Blacklisted Player seemed the type whose ego soared with a little flattery! Fatty Luo thumped his chest emphatically. “Of course! If you grant me this knowledge, brother, fatty Luo will brave flames and cross blades for you henceforth!”

“Hmm… the answer is…” Chen Mo smiled faintly. Then, his expression hardened instantly. “…won’t tell you.”

Son of a—! Fatty Luo almost choked on his spit, feeling boiling anger surge through him. The urge to cut Chen Mo down right there was overwhelming.

But remembering Mount Tai’s fate kept him rooted. For all he knew, that monstrous Pet had more devastating Skills ready. Getting himself killed over this would be a disastrous loss today.

“Little Warrior, let’s go.” Chen Mo signaled her. The small Warrior happily trotted after him.

Watching them disappear into the distance, one player behind Fatty Luo couldn’t hold back.

“Boss Luo! Why didn’t we take him out? His Pet’s Skills were cooling down! He’s only Lvl 25! Barely a threat! With a Pet that powerful, his own gear must be fantastic too! With a bit of luck… maybe even that Pet could drop!”

“You think it’s that easy? Stop daydreaming! Let’s head for the Quest!” Fatty Luo snapped coldly, glaring at the naive speaker. Dreaming of stealing the Pet? Utter madness!

Though… if it were possible… the temptation to risk it all was terrifying.

Long after everyone was gone, a figure surfaced silently in the sea. Mount Tai. Using some kind of miraculous teleportation effect from a scroll item (which he’d reluctantly burned through) – he had escaped after all.

He stared in the direction Chen Mo and Fatty Luo had vanished, his face twisted with deep resentment. Clenching the remains of that precious teleport scroll – the only thing that saved him – he made a hard decision.

Chen Mo walked alongside Little Warrior.

“How did you end up here anyway? Getting fought over like some prize?”

Chen Mo had overheard parts of the argument between Mount Tai and Fatty Luo.

“It wasn’t my choice. I got tricked,” Little Warrior explained, her face gloomy. She began recounting how she arrived on the island.

Players called this place Weapon Island. The name stemmed from a special NPC who appeared every seven days, offering a Quest. Completion difficulty determined the reward: powerful weapons suitable for their Level! The weapons varied. The lowest tier was usually Blue Equipment, though those weren’t common. Green Equipment was the norm. Rumors spoke of someone getting Purple Equipment! Legend told of the very best here being… even Dark Gold Weapons!
