Chapter 107: Camel
Chapter 107: Camel
Li Zian stopped at the door. He raised his hand to enter the code, but then he put it down without pressing any numbers. His feet uncontrollably turned toward the next door.
He sent a message to Mu Chuntao: “Are you at home? I’m coming to see you.”
A few seconds later, King Kong Lolita replied: “My dad is at home. Do you dare to come?”
Li Zian: “I’m just coming to check the back of your foot and treat it. I’m not doing anything bad. Your dad won’t actually take a knife and chop me, right?”
King Kong Lolita: “I’m fine. No need to come see me. Besides, my dad really is home. It’s not convenient.”
Li Zian did not bother to reply anymore. He put his Mobile Phone away and reached out to press the doorbell twice.
Ding dong, ding dong.
No one came to open the door.
Ding dong, ding dong, ding dong.
Footsteps came from behind the door, getting closer. When the footsteps stopped, the door opened, but only a crack.
Mu Chuntao’s Peach Blossom Face appeared through the crack. Her big eyes looked at Li Zian, and she pretended to be nervous. “My dad is taking a nap. Didn’t you just say you wanted to see me? You’ve seen me now. Alright, hurry back.”
Li Zian said with a laugh, “Who are you trying to fool? Your dad isn’t home. Otherwise, you wouldn’t keep reminding me he’s here.”
Mu Chuntao pouted, looking deflated. “Right, you’re the Master. I can’t fool you.”
Li Zian said with concern, “How did the back of your foot get swollen? Let me take a look. I’ll use my Zhenqi to rub it. It’ll get better quickly.”
But Mu Chuntao still didn’t open the door. Her expression was strange. “Just listen to me, go back. I’ll be fine tomorrow. I’ll come find you to chat tomorrow.”
Li Zian said, “Do you not want to see me? If you don’t want to see me, I’ll go back right now.”
The door swung open instantly.
Mu Chuntao leaned against the doorframe and gave Li Zian a charming glare. “Last night, my dream was full of you. Do you think I want to see you or not?”
Those words were potent.
Li Zian stepped inside. Unable to control his feelings, he hugged her tightly. The mouth that refused to bite Yu Meilin’s rabbit head now eagerly moved to bite Mu Chuntao’s rabbit head.
Mu Chuntao covered Li Zian’s mouth and even imitated Mu Long’s tone, calling out, “Ah, Xiao Li.”
Li Zian quickly reached out and covered Mu Chuntao’s mouth. He wasn’t afraid that Mu Chuntao would summon a daddy dragon; he was afraid Tang Qing or Lin Shengnan next door might hear.
So now, neither could bite.
Mu Chuntao, pressed against the wall by Li Zian, was breathing a little heavily. She let go of his hand first, then moved his hand away from her mouth.
Li Zian asked softly, “What’s wrong? Are you unhappy?”
Mu Chuntao’s face flushed slightly. “Don’t ask anymore. Must you figure out all us girls’ matters?”
Li Zian shook his head. “I don’t understand.”
Mu Chuntao gave him another glare. “Dummy.”
Li Zian suddenly picked her up and walked toward the Sofa in the Living Room.
Mu Chuntao asked nervously, “What… what are you doing?”
Li Zian didn’t speak, just strode forward.
Suddenly, Mu Chuntao cried out, “Dad!”
Li Zian’s body stiffened suddenly as if electrocuted. He hurriedly looked toward the stairs, his heart terrified.
Luckily, it was a false alarm. Mu Long did not appear on the stairs.
If his earlier judgment had been wrong and Mu Long really was home, coming downstairs right then, he truly wouldn’t know how to explain to Mu Long why he was holding his daughter and what he was really thinking inside.
As for whether Mu Long would rush into the Kitchen and grab a kitchen knife to chop him—that was Mu Long’s business. Even if he was a Master, he couldn’t control that.
“Giggle giggle.” Mu Chuntao laughed mischievously.
“You dare trick me!” Li Zian set her down on the Sofa, flipped her over, and raised his hand to spank her.
His hand rose high but landed gently.
But like beating a drum, even a light tap can make a loud sound and create rippling vibrations.
“Daddy, save me!” Mu Chuntao called for help in a low voice.
But Li Zian was not fooled this time. He said with a smile, “Go ahead and shout. Even if you shout your throat out, no one will come save you.”
Mu Chuntao made a strange expression. “That sounds so familiar. Oh, I remember—the flower-snatching thieves in those TV shows love saying that. Are you a flower-snatching thief?”
“I am a flower-snatching thief, and I’m going to kill you!”
Li Zian deliberately put on a fierce face and reached to choke her neck. But his act was all bluff; his hands held no strength, afraid of hurting her.
“No… don’t… no… ah ah ah…”
“…”
They fooled around like this for a few minutes. They were happy, but Li Zian felt worse and worse the more they played. Soon, he felt he couldn’t control himself anymore and stopped.
Mu Chuntao’s face was red too. She was panting and didn’t dare provoke him further.
“Let me check your foot.” Li Zian crouched down and took off her slipper.
Mu Chuntao wore loose home clothes and slippers, no socks. Once the slipper was off, her foot was revealed—skin like ice, bones like jade, five toes like shells, truly a beautiful foot.
But her foot was perfectly fine, not injured at all.
Li Zian then grabbed her other foot and took off the slipper.
The other foot was fine too—not swollen, no wounds.
He was puzzled. Didn’t she say the back of her foot was swollen?
Earlier, he carried her over because he knew her foot was swollen and didn’t want her to walk. But both feet were perfectly fine. They were actually perfectly fine.
“Didn’t you say the back of your foot was swollen?” Li Zian pretended to be angry. “I was so worried, but you tricked me.”
Mu Chuntao squirmed awkwardly. “The back of my foot really is swollen.”
“I’m not blind. Both feet are perfectly fine.” Li Zian considered whether to spank her a few more times so she wouldn’t lie with her eyes open and trick him so seriously.
“Do you really want to know?”
“Of course I want to know. I care about you.”
“What am I to you? That you care so much.” Mu Chuntao stared right at Li Zian, her gaze as if trying to enter his heart and see what was inside.
“You are my woman.” Li Zian did not avoid her eyes. His eyes held deep affection, deep as the sea.
Mu Chuntao let out a soft moan, scrambled up from the Sofa, then slipped like a loach into Li Zian’s arms. She wrapped her arms around his waist and hid her Peach Blossom Face against his chest.
Li Zian felt a stir of restlessness again.
Mu Chuntao seemed to notice something and immediately let go of Li Zian. Her Peach Blossom Face flushed red, and she looked nervous.
Li Zian didn’t dare look at her too much. He shifted his own attention. “So, your foot isn’t injured. Why did you say it was swollen?”
Mu Chuntao instantly looked utterly defeated. “Your curiosity is stronger than a cat’s. Fine, I’ll tell you, so you don’t keep pestering me.”
“Then hurry up and tell me.” Li Zian urged.
Mu Chuntao leaned close to Li Zian’s ear and whispered very softly, “It’s the camel toe that’s swollen.”
“Camel toe?” Li Zian glanced again at Mu Chuntao’s jade-like feet resting on the Sofa. He looked completely confused. He really couldn’t figure out which toe was called the camel toe, and all ten of her toes were clearly fine, without a single mark.
“Silly, when you don’t understand something, ask Baidu.” Mu Chuntao gave Li Zian another glare, her eyes full of playful charm.
Li Zian, half-convinced, took out his Mobile Phone, typed “camel toe” into the search Engine, and entered the search page.
Once he saw, he felt embarrassed.
“So, how did you get hurt?”
“I was bitten by a dog,” Mu Chuntao said.
Li Zian: “…”
“Now your curiosity is satisfied, right? Geez, you really made me say it,” Mu Chuntao pretended to be upset.
Li Zian said awkwardly, “I was just concerned about you, wasn’t I? I came directly here right after the banquet, without even stepping into my own home.”
“You still have a bit of a conscience,” Mu Chuntao said as she rested her head on Li Zian’s shoulder.
Li Zian said softly, “How about letting me take a look, and then we can apply some Golden Wound Ointment or something? It’ll heal quickly.”
“Ah! I’m dead,” Mu Chuntao collapsed onto the sofa, rolled her eyes dramatically, and then held that expression.
That “death” performance was so good that even famous directors wouldn’t want to yell “cut”—it definitely deserved an Oscar for best death scene.
“Um, wouldn’t it be okay to take a look?” Li Zian asked tentatively.
“I’m already dead,” Mu Chuntao said.
“There’s no need to avoid the doctor when you’re sick,” Li Zian coaxed gently.
“I’ll die one more time,” Mu Chuntao even stuck out her tongue.
Li Zian felt too embarrassed to continue, no matter how thick-skinned he was. He said, “Then I’ll go back and get some Golden Wound Ointment for you. You can apply it yourself.”
Mu Chuntao reached out and hugged Li Zian’s leg. “I don’t want that. Just don’t worry about it; I’ll heal on my own.”
Li Zian said with concern, “No, what if it gets inflamed or something? That wouldn’t be good.”
Mu Chuntao laughed and said, “The more it hurts, the more I’ll remember it. I want to remember it for a lifetime and not forget even a single minute.”
She emphasized the word “single minute.”
Li Zian was speechless.
He had a different understanding of “a single minute”—it felt like being punished to stand in front of the class in elementary school for answering “1+0” wrong.
“Earlier when I was bored, I was scrolling through the news and saw a picture of you, Yu Meilin, and Ma Huayun sitting at the same table eating. Lots of people were commenting about you,” Mu Chuntao said.
“Commenting about what?” Li Zian’s attention was diverted.
Mu Chuntao said with a laugh, “Saying how handsome you are.”
Li Zian smiled; he never got tired of such simple, honest words.
Mu Chuntao pouted. “I knew you’d be proud of yourself.”
Li Zian tapped her lightly—just hard enough to make a sound.
But Mu Chuntao let out an exaggerated noise.
Li Zian had thought about tapping her again, but after hearing that, he lost his nerve and kept his hand firmly on the sofa.
Mu Chuntao grinned triumphantly. “And some people said you’re Du Linlin’s boyfriend.”
Li Zian said in surprise, “No way?”
Mu Chuntao said, “If you don’t believe me, go look it up. No one in the comments said you and Yu Meilin are a married couple.”
His mobile phone was right beside him, and the screen still showed a picture of a camel toe, but Li Zian didn’t pick it up to check the news.
He didn’t care at all what others said.
“By the way, Meilin just gave me a ride home earlier, and she…” Li Zian trailed off.
“What about her?”
Li Zian hesitated before speaking. “When I got out of the car, she grabbed my hand, closed her eyes, and it seemed like she wanted me to kiss her.”
“Did you kiss her?” Mu Chuntao’s voice clearly carried a hint of jealousy.
Li Zian shook his head. “No. At that moment, I thought of you and felt guilty. Having such a feeling, am I… a scumbag man?”
Mu Chuntao giggled. “Not a scumbag, not a scumbag. Go get your medicinal plaster and come back to apply it for me.”
Li Zian asked curiously, “Didn’t you say you didn’t need me to handle it?”
A smile blossomed on Mu Chuntao’s face like a peach flower. “Women are changeable; can’t I change my mind?”
Li Zian: “…”
