Chapter 56: The Big Fight
Chapter 56: The Big Fight
Liu Heming did not keep hitting. He did not want to make things worse. He thought that if things got worse, he would be the one to suffer because the other side had too many people.
But he did not know that whether he hit once or many times made no difference now. Monroe had already held a grudge against him in his heart. It was because of Liu Heming that he lost face in front of his brothers.
After catching his breath a little, Monroe recovered quite a bit. He swung another punch at Liu Heming’s nose.
Liu Heming was not stupid. He had been watching Monroe’s movements all along. Seeing Monroe coming at him again, he quickly sidestepped and ducked, barely avoiding the punch.
Even a clay figure has a temper, not to mention that Liu Heming had gained some confidence after punching him earlier. He directly lifted his foot and kicked Monroe in the stomach.
This kick was quite solid, but Monroe was prepared and was not knocked down. Instead, he wrapped one arm around Liu Heming’s leg and swung his other fist, aiming for Liu Heming’s knee.
If that hit landed solidly, Liu Heming’s leg might have been crippled. Using your knee to hit someone and having someone hit your knee are two completely different ways of using force.
As soon as his leg was grabbed by Monroe, Liu Heming knew things were going badly. He struggled a little but could not pull free, and at that moment Monroe’s fist came down. He simply jumped up and punched Monroe right on the bridge of the nose.
His punch came later but landed first. This punch was even more solid. Liu Heming heard a “crack” sound and guessed that Monroe’s nose was broken.
He was not feeling too comfortable either. Although Monroe did not hit his knee squarely, the blow still landed on the inside of his thigh. It was so painful that his leg trembled after he pulled it back.
Now he did not care about anything else. They were already in a big fight. If you kept worrying about this and that, it was useless. Sooner or later he would suffer, so he might as well grab one and beat him up.
He mustered all his strength, kicking and punching wildly, not caring where his blows landed.
“Bang”
A gunshot rang out beside Liu Heming’s ear, startling him so much that he stopped his movements.
“Put away your little toys. I just called the police. Don’t think about revenge. I will make backups of the video footage.” Anderson raised his shotgun and spoke coldly to the group.
Liu Heming turned his head and saw that a few of the other bikers had their hands in their jackets, probably reaching for their guns.
Monroe got up from the ground, stared fiercely at Liu Heming and Anderson for a while, wiped the blood under his nose, and made a throat-slitting gesture at Liu Heming. Then he walked toward his motorcycle. After starting it, he revved the engine while still looking at Liu Heming and Anderson.
Liu Heming stared back defiantly. After all, the police had been called, and there was surveillance here. The fault was not on his side.
“Whew, they’re finally gone. I didn’t expect you to have some skills, actually taking down that big guy like that.” Watching the biker gang leave, Anderson let out a long sigh of relief.
“Anderson, thank you. If it weren’t for you today, I would have been in trouble.” Liu Heming said gratefully.
“Keep your gun in the car from now on. Although they don’t come here often, they’ve remembered you now.” Anderson patted him on the shoulder.
“Can I report this directly to the officer later?” Liu Heming asked.
“What officer? I was just scaring them.” Anderson rolled his eyes.
“Even if the State Police could get here as fast as possible, it would probably take over half an hour. Do you expect our Town Mayor George to rush from home to save you?”
“Uh… you didn’t call the police just now?” Liu Heming asked with some fear.
Anderson nodded very seriously.
“Anderson, Dexter, is everything alright?” At that moment, John also hurried over from his restaurant.
“It’s nothing. Those guys seem to be from the Flying Eagle Gang. They just had some trouble with Dexter.” Anderson shook his head.
“Why did they come here? Xiangshui Town isn’t their turf.” John frowned.
“Who knows? But you didn’t see it just now. Dexter’s moves were beautiful, especially when he jumped. That’s Chinese kung fu.” Anderson said, even mimicking the moves a few times.
Liu Heming smiled wryly. What kung fu did he know? It was just that the System had improved his physical fitness, and Monroe had underestimated him, allowing him to gain the upper hand.
Right now, not only was his thigh hurting, but the fist he used to hit also hurt. The force works both ways. He wasn’t wearing gloves, and his fingers felt somewhat numb.
“Anderson, John, do you think they will come back for revenge?” Liu Heming asked with some worry again.
“Usually not. For them, this was also a sudden incident, and this isn’t their turf. But you still need to be careful. After all, they are bikers.” John shook his head.
“Alright, it seems I can only carry my gun with me at all times.” Liu Heming nodded.
Wasn’t this an unexpected disaster? Who would have thought that going out to buy groceries would lead to a fight? It seemed life in the United States wasn’t so easy either. Not only did he have to face financial pressure, but also the pressure from these bad guys who could pop up at any time.
Maybe they didn’t dare to actually kidnap the Bear Kids, but beating him up was very possible.
After thanking Anderson properly again, Liu Heming got in his car and left.
On the way back, after the fear subsided, he felt a little excited. It seemed the System’s boost to his physical fitness was really effective. If it were his old self, he would have been beaten up like a little chick long ago, with no chance to fight back.
It looked like he needed to coax the System more, to get it to release more, better, and simpler tasks, and then fully upgrade his physical fitness. Maybe then he could be like in the movies, punching one guy flying, kicking another away.
However, this was just a little fantasy he had in the car. After returning to the ranch, he still dug out his shotgun and loaded it fully with bullets.
Better safe than sorry. What if these people really held a grudge and came looking for him? Fighting one person head-on was already tough, let alone facing so many.
Maybe if it were the big gorilla Robin here, it would be fine. Those people probably wouldn’t dare to approach him upon seeing him. But he wasn’t there yet—he still needed a gun for self-defense.
