Looking at the three missions that flashed by one after another, Liu Heming felt like he wanted to die. Was this even survivable? How capable was he to buy all of Xiangshui Town? What kind of “Success or Death” was this—it was more like “Forced to Die”!
No matter how much he tried to guard against it, it was impossible to avoid. He knew that after the System upgraded, the tasks it gave were downright nasty. He didn’t even dare to dream of a good life. And now? This awful task gave him a triple whammy all at once.
“Ah… This is so unfair…”
Feeling incredibly frustrated, Liu Heming didn’t care anymore and let out a loud shout.
The shout was quite loud; it even startled the two Peregrine Falcons that had just joined the Ranch outside.
“It’s nothing, don’t worry about me. I just remembered being bullied by two Peregrine Falcons and felt frustrated,” Liu Heming said gloomily after coming out of the Warehouse, looking at everyone.
Robin originally planned to ask, but seeing Liu Heming’s dark expression, he really didn’t know what had just happened in the Warehouse.
Liu Yi didn’t mind that and came close to him. “Is there something special going on? You even used Chinese.”
“Sigh, it’s nothing. I was just thinking about some annoying things. By the way, when you leave, I’ll send two people with you. Take care of them then. Don’t worry too much about the cost for the Apartment; safety is the most important,” Liu Heming shook his head and said.
“And about that Food Truck, try to pick a good one for me. Two young girls would have a hard time if the truck breaks down often. I gave them thirty thousand US Dollars. If it’s not enough, let me know.”
“OK, but are you sure you’re really fine?” Liu Yi nodded and asked.
“No, really, I’m fine. I just feel like I’ve been living too miserably before, and I need to work hard from now on. Yeah, I must work hard,” Liu Heming said with a bitter smile, trying to cheer himself up.
Liu Yi looked at him with some confusion, not understanding why Liu Heming’s emotions were fluctuating so much. It seemed he didn’t know this person well enough; he was a bit strange.
“Oh, right, could you tell everyone that lunch today will be a bit later? I still need to tidy up the Warehouse a little,” Liu Heming said before quickly running back into the Warehouse.
Liu Yi smacked his lips, feeling even more unable to grasp Liu Heming’s train of thought. The people outside felt the same, especially Robin and Sasha, who had never seen Liu Heming so out of sorts before.
As for Liu Heming? The reason he hurriedly ran back to the Warehouse was that he had been too focused on his frustration earlier and forgot to use the Appraisal Skill on these Potatoes. Now that he wasn’t the same ordinary guy as before, if he didn’t use the Appraisal Skill, he might not be able to grow them properly in the future.
After using the Appraisal Skill, the information of these Potatoes appeared.
“Potato, the best Potato in the world. Growth cycle: three months, requires manual planting. (Limited to planting five hundred pieces, each plant yields ten fruits.)”
Liu Heming took a general look; there were about five hundred Potatoes here, which matched the planting limit given by the System. He picked up another Potato and looked at its buds—eight. If each one produced five more fruits, after cutting and planting these five hundred, he could harvest forty thousand Potatoes next year.
The quantity was similar to Sweet Potatoes, but the weight would be much higher. He guessed it was because these Potatoes didn’t have the magical effects of Sweet Potatoes; they were just a bit tastier.
He really wanted to taste what these Potatoes were like, but he gave up. He couldn’t take them out now; otherwise, it would be hard to explain. He could only wait until next year after planting them to let his daughter try.
With his hands behind his back, he walked outside again. Thinking in an Ah-Q manner, he felt that no one had noticed his “abnormal” behavior.
Walking a bit further, he realized everyone’s gaze wasn’t on him but focused on Alex. The little one was trying to make peace between the Peregrine Falcons and Selin.
The two Peregrine Falcons stood on her left, while Selin stood timidly on her right. It was unclear what the little one had said to them, but now she was stretching their wings, making them shake hands.
After shaking hands one by one, the little one was very satisfied. She waved her hand, letting Selin go play by himself, and then introduced the other animals in the Ranch to the Peregrine Falcons.
This process was also tedious. The little one randomly picked up one Peregrine Falcon while the other followed by flying. Behind her trailed a bunch of people.
The little one didn’t discriminate by species; she introduced them one by one. Even the two fat pigs sleeping soundly in the Pig Pen were woken up and introduced.
The only trouble was with the chickens. Even the big rooster inside walked strangely after seeing the Peregrine Falcons. They had been attacked several times, and several of their friends were taken away.
Alex didn’t care about that; she had introduced everyone. Only then did she see Liu Heming following behind. “Dad, Dad, I think I forgot to introduce someone, but I can’t remember who.”
“Did you introduce Square Kitten?” Liu Heming asked.
The little one nodded. “They were sleeping on the roof.”
“What about your Little Wormy?” Liu Heming looked down and saw the Baby Alligator being dragged by the little one.
Alex looked down and smiled. “Little Wormy, they are new friends. Don’t bully them.”
The Baby Alligator felt it was finally its time to shine. It lay on the ground, opened its long mouth wide, trying to show its presence.
However, it showed off too early. The other Peregrine Falcon landed directly, stepping on it with one foot. The Baby Alligator quickly closed its eyes and mouth, playing dead.
