Chapter 167: Professional Poop Scooper
Chapter 167: Professional Poop Scooper
Liu Heming also felt a bit disgusted in his heart. He did not want to have such a bad neighbor.
If the William family really bought Xiangshui Town in the future, he would have a bad neighbor next to him. There would surely be many conflicts.
It was all because of money. If he had money, he would snap up Xiangshui Town in an instant. But he just thought about it and did not take it seriously.
When he returned to the Ranch, Sasha and Robin were surprised to see that he had brought back so many Calves, even though he had only intended to buy two little Dairy Cattle.
The Calves were not very big and were just weaned. When they got out of the car, they were curious and looked around with big eyes.
People said newborn Calves were not afraid of tigers, and it was true. Even when the Bear Kids came close to them to check out the new little friends, the Calves were not scared. They just moved aside a little.
“Alex, they are in your care now. Take the little cows to see their home,” Liu Heming said to his daughter.
The little girl nodded happily. She patted one Calf on the head, and then the Calves followed her toward the Cattle Shed.
“Dexter, why did George seem so unhappy?” Sasha came over and asked.
Liu Heming told her about the small conflict with William today, and Sasha frowned too.
She had not expected that the barren Xiangshui Town would become such a hot commodity. But she could not help with this matter either.
“It’s all because of profits. Although the Land here is barren, the land prices are low. Now that the Montana state government wants to sell this area, it naturally attracts a lot of attention,” Robin said with a smile after listening.
“Yes, both the Montana state government and the developers who come here will benefit. Actually, even the townspeople here can get some benefits, but the character of Xiangshui Town will change in the future,” Liu Heming nodded.
Everyone understood the reasoning, but it still felt a bit helpless.
After a short while, the Calves adapted completely. Then Alex led the Calves and showed them what they could eat and what they could not. She also told them where to play normally, and if they could swim, they could play in the lake too.
The little girl was very serious, but she was completely following her own daily habits.
Liu Heming pulled some Carrots from the ground, washed them along with the leaves, and gave them to the Calves.
This was a small habit he had developed. Whether it was for the Bear Kids or Charming Girl, he always washed the Carrots. He did not want them to eat mud. They had to be hygienic.
The Calves knew what was good. After getting familiar with the place, they started eating on the Ranch by themselves. The Pasture Grass here was tender and plentiful, much better than what they had eaten at home before.
“Are you planning to raise these cows like this on the Ranch?” George asked with a smile after cheering up a bit.
“Pretty much. The Pasture Grass here is good enough for them to eat now. In winter, do I need to prepare extra feed for them?” Liu Heming asked.
“Of course. If it snows in winter, it’s hard to clear. You can’t let these cows go out in the snow, or they might get frostbite. You should also store some fine feed,” George nodded.
“You can buy some dry Pasture Grass and oats, plus the Corn you have here, and that should be enough. If you have more Pasture Grass next year, you can harvest some and store it. You can also adjust your Wheat planting a little this year and plant some oats.”
“There’s so much to learn. Good thing I saved enough seed money, or I might not even have money to buy seeds. By the way, have we set a date for sowing the Wheat? Do I need to make any extra preparations?” Liu Heming said with a bitter smile.
“Probably in about a week. No special preparations needed. You just need to prepare delicious food for us,” George said with a smile.
This was one benefit of getting familiar with everyone. When he had things to do, everyone would come to help.
During the Wheat harvest, there might be scheduling conflicts, but for sowing, everyone could work together. Everyone had a Seeder, and with mutual help, it would be done quickly.
“Dad, can the little cows be ridden for fun like the Bear Bear?” Alex ran over again, her face full of hope.
“Yes, but you have to wait until they grow bigger. The little cows are like Alex now, still children with little strength. When they grow as big as Dad, they can play with you,” Liu Heming persuaded his daughter.
The little girl sometimes got tired from playing outside and would ride the Little Bears for a lift. If Charming Girl were not injured, she would have probably ridden her already.
“Dexter, your work will get a bit busier from now on,” George said after patting Alex on the head.
“Why? Do I need to feed them fine feed now?” Liu Heming asked curiously.
“No, no. With so much Pasture Grass now, it’s enough for them. You only need to feed them a little if you want. But you will have to clean up their poop every day,” George said with a smile.
“They won’t just poop in the Cattle Shed. You need to pay attention to the places where they often rest on the Ranch. It’s okay now as the weather is getting cooler, but when it gets hotter, there will be lots of flies and mosquitoes.”
Liu Heming felt troubled. It seemed his job as a poop scooper was long and hard.
Raising cows was not that easy either. Today, he only thought about how to complete tasks in the future but forgot about important matters like scooping poop.
This was something he had to do. He had thought about hiring cowboys to help manage the Ranch, but that would have to wait until he had more money and more animals. Right now, he only had a few Calves and was in debt. He had to do all the work himself.
Other Ranch Owners were relaxed, but he had become a professional poop scooper. Good thing he did not have much money now, or if he raised more cows and sheep, he might not even have time to scoop all the poop.
The only comfort he could give himself was that at least these Calves were raw material suppliers for the Fertilizer Plant. So he would scoop the poop. When it turned into organic fertilizer, it would save him some money.
Life without money was tough, so he had to live carefully.
