“Well, if it isn’t Boss Pang? What, is Junyue here to join the fun today?” A sharp voice rang out. A middle-aged woman in her forties stepped out of a Lincoln. She wore a mink coat and had dyed purple hair. Although she was a bit older, she still had charm. Two men who looked like bodyguards followed her.
“It’s President Sun. Long time no see.” Boss Pang clearly knew this old woman approaching. Though he smiled, the gloom in his eyes was evident.
Tang Chen understood; Old Pang seemed to have some history with this old bitch.
“That’s right, it’s me. I never expected Junyue to be interested in this piece of land. It really surprises me. Let me kindly remind you—I heard the current market price for this land has already exceeded eighty million. You should prepare yourself mentally.” The old woman spoke bluntly, putting on an arrogant and wealthy act.

Boss Pang also felt extremely pleased. Holding his head high, he said, “President Sun, I advise you to watch your words. A female auctioneer in a qipao walked in, holding a small gavel. She stood at the podium and spoke into the microphone, “Ladies and gentlemen, please quiet down. The auction will begin shortly.”
The hall immediately fell silent, and an invisible tension began to slowly spread.
The auctioneer spent five minutes explaining the land being auctioned in detail. Just as Tang Chen was about to fall asleep, she finally stopped.
“Alright, the starting bid for this land is eighty million. Each bid raise is one hundred thousand. Let the bidding begin.” As soon as the auctioneer finished speaking, someone immediately raised their paddle.
This piece of land seemed quite popular, so the bidding never stopped. In the blink of an eye, it had reached one hundred eighty million.

“Junyue bids five billion RMB. Are there any higher bids?” the auctioneer called out in a crisp voice.
Some bosses fell silent. They had all set personal limits beforehand, most around two billion. Now that it had reached five billion, no one wanted to bid further.
“No one? If there are no other bids, this land will be sold to Junyue after three calls!” The auctioneer spoke again, preparing to count down.
“Five billion five hundred million!” The old woman finally made a bid. She had been waiting for an opportunity to suppress Junyue, so as soon as Boss Pang called his price, she immediately countered.
Some bosses knew about the rivalry between Junyue and Mihu, so when they heard the old woman bid, they smirked amusedly. Was there going to be another showdown?
“Mihu bids five billion five hundred million. Are there any other bids?”
Boss Pang’s face tightened. He looked at Tang Chen, who nodded, signaling him to bid again.
Bolstered, Boss Pang raised his paddle again and called out, “Six billion!”
“Six billion—Junyue bids six billion! Ah, Mihu bids six billion six hundred million—no, Junyue bids eight billion! Mihu raises again to nine billion! Nine billion RMB! Does Junyue wish to bid higher?”
The auctioneer was also stunned. She could tell Mihu was directly competing with Junyue—whatever the other bid, Mihu would raise by five hundred million or one billion.
The atmosphere in the room grew heated. Although Mihu and Junyue had clashed every year, such aggressive bidding like this year’s had brought their hidden rivalry out into the open!

“Does Junyue bid higher? The current bid is nine billion RMB. If Junyue does not bid, I will strike the gavel!” The auctioneer’s words drew everyone’s attention back to Boss Pang. They wanted to see if Boss Pang had any more money to bid!
Boss Pang hesitated. He wasn’t sure if bidding higher was worth it—nine billion was already several times the land’s market value!
Moreover, if they kept raising the bid indefinitely, who knew if Young Master Tang would get angry?
