Chapter 65: I Don’t Agree With You Two Dating!

Third Master Chen’s words indirectly admitted that Tang Chen was the one who had called him over. As soon as he spoke, not only did Yang Mi’s mother and the neighbors freeze, but even A Cai and his little gang were utterly stunned.

Damn, this kid actually called over such a large group of gangsters? What the hell, just who is this bastard? Why does this old man dressed like a movie star treat him with such respect?

Tang Chen was quite pleased with Third Master Chen’s performance. This old guy knew his place. Tang Chen said to him, “Chen Laosan, even though you look like an idiot in that outfit and you were late, I won’t hold it against you.”

Third Master Chen was overwhelmed with gratitude and repeatedly said, “Yes, Young Master Tang. Thank you, Young Master Tang, for not holding it against me.”

The men Third Master Chen brought along were also stunned. They had never seen their Third Master be so polite to a young man. Although Third Master Chen had told them on the way that he had already acknowledged Tang Chen as his Boss, seeing it happen so suddenly still caught them off guard.

This guy who looked even younger than them was going to be their new Boss from now on? Third Master, isn’t this just too reckless?

Tang Chen ignored their thoughts and instead smirked at that idiot A Cai, saying, “You little punk, my people are here now. You’ve lost. Hurry up and kneel down with your men and call me ‘Grandpa’!”

A Cai’s face turned ugly. It was true—the other side had called over so many people. His own brothers were indeed no match for these real gangsters. But asking him and his men to kneel down and call him ‘Grandpa’ was absolutely impossible!

Not to mention that his brothers would completely look down on him, if he actually said those words, how could he ever show his face around here again?

“Young man, don’t push people too far!” A Cai said through gritted teeth, gripping the switchblade tightly in his hand.

“Push people too far?” Tang Chen laughed coldly, then walked over and slapped A Cai hard across the face, cursing, “Don’t you dare act all pitiful in front of me! If you want to play, you’d better be prepared to lose! Weren’t you just saying you were going to teach me a lesson? What happened? Now that my people are here, you chicken out? Idiot, next time you go out to show off, use your brain!”

“Big Brother!”

“How dare you hit our Big Brother? We’ll fight you!” A Cai’s men shouted, posturing and ready to make a move.

“Looking for death? Let’s see who dares!” Third Master Chen’s presence was far beyond what these little gangsters could handle. With a commanding wave of his hand, his men all brandished their machetes.

“Don’t move!” A Cai covered his face and yelled at his men. He didn’t want to see his men get cut down, so he had to shout at them to stop.

Tang Chen sneered and said, “You little punk, you’re quite the man, able to hold back. If you had let your men attack, they’d all be lying on the ground today.”

A Cai didn’t dare meet Tang Chen’s fierce gaze and softened his tone, saying, “Let us go. Leave some room for courtesy, so we can meet again in the future.”

Hearing this, Tang Chen laughed disdainfully again and said, “Let you go? Don’t be ridiculous. Meet again in the future? I never want to see trash like you again. Let me ask you—if my people hadn’t shown up and I begged you to let me go, would you have agreed?”

A Cai didn’t answer. He couldn’t answer. If Tang Chen had lost, he definitely wouldn’t have let them go.

Tang Chen narrowed his eyes, his smile widening. He turned to Third Master Chen and said, “Chen Laosan, these pieces of trash tried to harm my future Mother-in-Law and even threatened to beat me to death. Have the brothers teach them a lesson. But since these idiots didn’t do anything too extreme, just rough them up a bit. Don’t make it a big deal.”

When A Cai heard the first part, his heart sank, but Tang Chen’s last words reignited a spark of hope in him. He threw his switchblade on the ground and said, “Thank you.”

Third Master Chen nodded. He could see that Tang Chen didn’t intend to go too far, so he said to his men, “You heard Young Master Tang, right? Don’t hurt them seriously. Just beat them up a little.”

“Yes,” Third Master Chen’s men replied, then put away their machetes and charged forward with bare fists. A one-sided beating began.

No one had expected things to turn out this way. What surprised the neighbors even more was that Yang Mi’s boyfriend had such power. It seemed they shouldn’t mess with their family in the future.

Tang Chen paid no attention to the fighting and walked over to Third Master Chen, saying, “Chen Laosan, I owe you one.”

Third Master Chen said nervously, “Young Master Tang, what are you saying? I’m your subordinate. It’s my duty to serve you. Young Master Tang, to be honest, you’re more fit to be the Boss than I am. At least you know when to show mercy. If it were me, I’d have cut off all their limbs.”

Tang Chen burst out laughing and said, “After all, they’re just kids around my age. Even though they acted tough, they didn’t do anything truly evil. A lesson is enough; no need to go overboard.”

“Yes, you’re absolutely right,” Third Master Chen said, deeply impressed.

Five minutes later, it was over. A Cai and his men limped away. Third Master Chen’s men hadn’t hit them too hard—just enough to leave them bruised and swollen. Tang Chen transferred one million directly to Third Master Chen’s card, telling him to reward the brothers for today. He wanted them to know that working for Young Master Tang wasn’t for nothing.

When the men heard that Tang Chen had given so much money, they were all overwhelmed with gratitude, calling out “Young Master Tang” even more sincerely.

With the matter resolved, Third Master Chen and his men left. The onlookers dispersed as well, but Tang Chen would be remembered by them forever.

“Tang Chen!” Yang Mi exclaimed, running over and hugging him like a fledgling bird returning to its nest. “You scared me to death! I’m just glad you’re okay.”

Tang Chen grinned and said, “Of course your man is fine. Sorry for worrying you.” He paused, then asked, “Yang Mi, aren’t you going to ask how I know these gangsters?”

Yang Mi shook her head, emotional, and said, “I don’t care about any of that. All I know is that I like you. You have so many secrets—I don’t want to know them.”

Tang Chen smiled contentedly. With a girl like this, what more could he ask for?

“Ahem, daughter, a young lady should be more reserved,” Yang Mi’s mother spoke up then. Yang Mi blushed deeply and quickly pushed Tang Chen away.

Tang Chen chuckled and walked over, saying respectfully, “Auntie, hello. My name is Tang Chen. It’s our first meeting—I’m sorry I didn’t have a chance to greet you earlier.”

Yang Mi’s mother said coolly, “My daughter says you’re her boyfriend?”

Tang Chen nodded and said, “Yes. I truly like Yang Mi.”

Yang Mi’s mother fell silent for a moment before saying, “I don’t agree with you two dating!”

Tang Chen was stunned. Yang Mi was also taken aback and quickly asked, “Mom, what are you saying? Why would you say that?”

Yang Mi’s mother looked at Tang Chen seriously and said, “Tang Chen, I’m very grateful for your help today in resolving this big trouble for our family. But please forgive a mother’s selfishness. Our family only has Xiao Mi as a daughter. I want her to live a safe and peaceful life, to find an honest, steady man to spend her life with—not someone like you, who mingles with gangsters. “Mom, didn’t I explain to you? Tang Chen isn’t that kind of person!” Yang Mi was frantic. How hurtful her mother’s words were! What if Tang Chen got hurt or angry because of them?

But Tang Chen remained calm. He smiled wryly and said, “Auntie, in your eyes, am I really unable to give Yang Mi a sense of security?”

Yang Mi’s mother nodded bluntly and said, “That’s right. At least in my view, anyone who gets along with those thugs is no good person. I really don’t want my daughter dating someone like that!”
