The scene was a bit strange. After the national anthem finished, Tang Chen stood up, looking pleased. He said smugly, “Not bad. Young Master’s singing is still the best. What the hell were the rest of you singing?”
The fat guy felt like crying. Big Brother! Dear grandpa! Could you please stop messing with us? If our singing was out of tune, yours was like a death-curse!
The fat guy looked up and saw Liu Yanran and the police officers standing right in front of him. Overjoyed, he shouted, “Officers, please arrest us! We beg you!”
“Arrest my ass!” Tang Chen kicked the guy right in the face, sending him tumbling to the ground. He said coldly, “Calling for officers now? When you idiots were trying to beat me to death earlier, why didn’t I call for officers? You just can’t take a joke, can you?”
Blood covered the fat guy’s face after the kick. The four other prisoners nearby didn’t dare help him up. This guy was too violent; they didn’t want to risk angering him at a time like this.
“Tang Chen, stop hitting people,” Liu Yanran said, stopping Tang Chen. Seeing that Tang Chen was safe, she felt an inexplicable sense of relief. At the same time, she was annoyed by this jerk’s awful sense of humor. What normal person would think of making people sing the national anthem?

Damn it, Liu Yanran defying his orders was one thing, but now even these SWAT officers weren’t listening to him? Did they not take him, the Deputy Director, seriously at all?
“Wait!” Liu Yanran spoke up first, addressing Qin Shousheng. “Deputy Director Qin, if you want to arrest me, you’ll have to give me a reason first!”
Qin Shousheng snorted coldly. He glanced at the bewildered SWAT officers and yelled angrily, “Fine, you want a reason? You disobeyed my orders, assaulted me, and to rescue your accomplice, you even knocked out our good comrade Lingfei! Isn’t that enough to arrest you?”
The SWAT officers were stunned. The deputy captain had really gone too far this time!
“Deputy Director Qin, since you put it that way, let’s hash this out. Why did you first lure me to your office, then have Lingfei lock up Tang Chen? Not only that, why did you arrange for five prisoners to beat Tang Chen? Could it be that you, Qin Shousheng, were acting under someone’s orders?”
Liu Yanran’s words were sharp, instantly directing all the conflict’s focus toward Qin Shousheng.
The SWAT officers and the other police all turned to look at Qin Shousheng. Especially the officers who had seen Liu Yanran come out of Qin Shousheng’s office earlier fell into thought. “Kill my ass!” Tang Chen reached out, grabbed the gun, twisted it hard with his right hand, and bent the submachine gun into an S-shape. He then snatched the now-useless gun and smashed it into Qin Shousheng’s face.
Bam! Blood streamed from Qin Shousheng’s nose. Tang Chen moved in close, kicked him hard in the stomach, then pressed his head down and drove a knee upward.

Tang Chen’s knee slammed heavily into Qin Shousheng’s face. Everyone heard a cracking sound—it seemed like Qin Shousheng’s nose bridge had broken.
“Daring to aim a gun at Young Master? You’re asking to die!” Tang Chen grabbed Qin Shousheng by the throat and, quick as lightning, pinned him against the wall.
Everything happened too fast. Everyone saw this guy use dazzling moves to twist the submachine gun until it broke, then instantly beat up Qin Shousheng and pushed him against the wall. Qin Shousheng, weighing around 170 pounds, was lifted so his feet dangled more than a dozen centimeters off the ground. His face turned purplish-red, and he couldn’t move.

By the time the SWAT officers realized what was happening, Qin Shousheng was already covered in blood, held tightly by the neck like a chick in Tang Chen’s grip.
Tang Chen completely ignored the guns pointed at his back by the SWAT officers. He said calmly, “I know there are many guns behind me, but Young Master tells you—guns are useless against me.
