Chapter 31: Lu Xiaoqing
Chapter 31: Lu Xiaoqing
Boss Pang was exasperated. Young Master Tang was clearly just being petty and trying to get payback. Besides, the guy was already knocked out. Wasn’t it a bit much to keep hitting him?
“Young Master Tang, he’s passed out. Let’s just stop here,” Manager Pang said cautiously.
Anger flashed across Tang Chen’s face. “Old Pang, what? Are you scared? Scared of what? I already said if anything goes wrong, it’s on me. I just want to teach this jerk a lesson. Get over here and hit him! If you’re working under me, you better act tough!”
Boss Pang gritted his teeth and walked over. Staring at Guo Yang’s face, he remembered how smug the guy had acted earlier. Anger surged within him. With a grunt, he rushed forward and started kicking Guo Yang in the face.
“Damn! Show off, will you? Mess with our hotel, will you?” Boss Pang got more and more into it—not just kicking Guo Yang’s face, but his chest and groin too. He didn’t know if he’d ever done anything this wild in his life. All he knew was stomping on this Deputy Director felt freaking good.
Tang Chen nodded with satisfaction. To the hotel staff, he said, “All of you, come over here and start kicking. This piece of trash tried to target my hotel! We can’t let him off easy. Kick him! I’ll give you a hundred thousand yuan per kick. Now hurry!”
“Yes, Young Master Tang!” The hotel employees’ eyes sparked with excitement. A hundred thousand yuan per kick? Unless you were an idiot, who wouldn’t rush to kick this trash?
Poor Guo Yang. He’d probably spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair after this.
After more than ten minutes, Tang Chen ordered a few security guards to drag Guo Yang out and throw him right out of Junyue. Then he turned to Boss Pang standing beside him. “Boss Pang, remember this for me. This Junyue Hotel is under my protection. If anyone like him tries to cause trouble again, just beat them up.”
Boss Pang was awestruck. He nodded frantically. “Okay, Young Master Tang. Don’t worry.”
Tang Chen grunted in approval. If you were following him, you needed that gutsy attitude.
After handling the hotel situation, Tang Chen was about to head back to school when his mobile phone chimed. He pulled it out to see a text from Yang Mi. It said simply: Tang Chen, what are you doing? I was afraid to bother you, so I didn’t call.
Tang Chen was touched by how thoughtful the girl was. He called back immediately. Once connected, his voice softened. “Yang Mi, my dear, I’m all done with work.”
Yang Mi made a pffff sound. “Shameless! We aren’t even married! You’re not my husband.”
Tang Chen snickered playfully. “We’ve already done it, though. What’s a little paper marriage certificate?”
Yang Mi flushed. That scoundrel was teasing her again, and she was terrified he might say something worse. “Tang Chen, have you gotten back to campus? If you’re back, come find me right now.”
Tang Chen grunted. “Alright, I’m coming to the classroom for you.”
“No, Tang Chen, I’m not in the classroom,” Yang Mi corrected. “It’s lunchtime. I’m in the music room now. Find me there.”
Tang Chen sounded puzzled. “Why are you in the music room?”
Yang Mi explained, “My best friend is here. I’m hanging out with her. Hurry up!”
Tang Chen laughed coyly. “I get it—meeting friends first means meeting parents is next, right? Oh, Big Boobs, you’re so eager! I know I’m this handsome, and all those girls crushing on me must stress you out, but come on, we can’t get married so soon. We should at least have a shotgun wedding! So… when should we have this baby?”
“Get lost! Always spouting nonsense!” Yang Mi snapped and hung up. She was too tired to deal with that pervert.
Hearing the call end, Tang Chen didn’t mind. Girls were made to tease, after all.
After some thought, he decided to head to the music room after all. Come to think of it, he’d never seen Yang Mi’s best friend before. He was actually pretty curious.
Tang Chen walked straight ahead. On the way, he asked a girl for directions to the music room. Soon, he was standing in front of a classroom door. Peering through the glass, he saw two girls chatting and laughing in front of a piano.
One, of course, was his woman, Yang Mi. The other must be the best friend she’d mentioned. And at the first sight of that girl, Tang Chen felt his breath catch.
Such a stunning girl. Her looks matched every boy’s dream of a pure first love. She wore an elegant white dress, her ponytail tied high. Her skin glowed with such tender innocence it could make anyone envious. Her delicate features seemed translucent, with a hint of natural seduction in her expression. A sweet smile lit up her youthful face.
Her long, jade-white arms and graceful fingers danced lightly across the piano keys. Just sitting there, she made the entire world look dim.
“So beautiful!” Tang Chen was entranced. He admitted he was captivated—even though he already had Yang Mi. But honestly, who wouldn’t feel that way looking at a girl like her?
“Who are you? What are you doing here?” Just as Tang Chen was mesmerized, an annoying voice broke in. Tang Chen turned to see a boy, skinny, about five-foot-seven, and frail as a bamboo pole. A light breeze could probably sweep him away.
“Kid, who are you?” Tang Chen scowled. “What’s it to you? I’m enjoying the view here!”
The boy patted his flat chest, puffing it proudly. “I’m Zeng Zhiseng! I’m the Guardian of the Music Flower. Are you here to stare at her too?”
“Music Flower? What the—I don’t know any Music Flower.” Tang Chen smirked. Was this kid weird or what?
Zeng Zhiseng curled his lip contemptuously. “What a loser! You’re peeping but can’t admit it. Isn’t she the Music Flower inside this room? Damn right she is! Stop lying!”
Tang Chen’s cheek twitched. But then he realized—only two people were in that room, and the title “Music Flower” clearly wasn’t for Yang Mi but the other girl.
“Hey, Skinny Bamboo Pole! Is the Music Flower the one playing piano?”
“Skin—Skinny Bamboo Pole!” Zeng Zhiseng’s anger exploded. “You jerk! First, you stare at our Music Flower, then insult me? I’ll fight you! Taste my Deadly Groin Kick!” Before Tang Chen could blink, Zeng Zhenseng lashed a kick toward Tang Chen’s crotch.
Crap, trying to ruin his family line? Tang Chen cursed. “Kid, you should’ve thought twice!” He dodged the kick easily, catching Zeng Zhiseng’s leg. Then he swept Zeng Zhiseng’s supporting leg and flung him hard. The poor “Guardian” hit the ground face-first.
Thump!
“AARGH!” Zeng Zhiseng scrambled up, brushing dust off his clothes. “I’ll fight you for real!”
“Fight my foot!” Tang Chen snorted. Fighting this noodle-armed twig wasn’t worth his Slapping Divine Palm. One solid kick would be enough to finish him.
“What’s going on? Huh, Tang Chen, why didn’t you come in?” Maybe Zeng Zhiseng had been too loud. The door opened, and Yang Mi and the piano girl came out together.
“Oh, I found your piano playing so mesmerizing I almost lost track of time. Forgot to step in,” Tang Chen lied smoothly, face not twitching. He hadn’t been watching Yang Mi at all.
Yang Mi blushed. Naive as she was, she believed that scoundrel’s lie. Timidly, she hit Tang Chen with a small, pink-clenched fist. “You’re the worst! Why say something so corny? Xiaoqing is here!”
“Xiaoqing? Oh, so she’s your best friend?” Tang Chen shifted his gaze to the piano girl beside Yang Mi. Up close, she seemed even more breathtakingly radiant.
“Hello, I’m Lu Xiaoqing, Yang Mi’s best friend.” Lu Xiaoqing smiled gracefully, calm and elegant.
Tang Chen grinned and introduced himself, “I’m Tang Chen. I’m Yang Mi’s man.”
“Tang Chen!” Yang Mi protested, stomping her foot cutely.
Lu Xiaoqing covered her mouth, eyes crinkling into crescent moons. “I know him. You talk about him all the time. First meeting, and well—he is pretty handsome.”
Tang Chen patted his chest smugly. “Hey, I’ve always been pretty confident about my looks!” Compliments, especially from beauties like this, were always welcome.
