Chapter 229: You old fool, you’ve also fucking lived long enough!
The sudden sound of gunfire made everyone freeze. No one expected that with big shots from the military and politics present, Tang Chen would actually fire his gun—and aim right at Sun Jiangnan’s crotch!
This was meant to make Sun Guofan lose all his descendants. After that shot, even if Hua Tuo himself came back to life, he couldn’t save Sun Jiangnan. That jerk was finally going to become the first eunuch of our Great China!
“Jiangnan!” Sun Guofan’s face twisted completely. Heartbroken, he rushed over and clutched the bloodstained crotch of Sun Jiangnan. The pain was so intense that he almost fainted!
Oh my god, why was this happening to him? He only had this one son. With his son turned into a eunuch, what reason did he have left to live!
“Senior!” the Special Forces soldiers shouted. Instinctively, they wanted to attack Tang Chen, but Du Hongde stopped them with one look.
Du Hongde said to Sun Guofan with regret, “Senior, hurry and get Young Master Sun to the hospital! Maybe there’s still a chance to save him!”
“I’ll kill you!” Sun Guofan angrily cut off Du Hongde and picked up the gun from the ground. He pointed it at Tang Chen, ready to shoot him in the head.
“You old fool, you’ve also fucking lived long enough! Die!” Tang Chen hated it when fools who didn’t value their lives pointed guns at him. He dodged Sun Guofan’s gun with a side step. Then he kicked Sun Guofan’s chest, slapped his hand with a sharp crack, and slapped him again, sending him stumbling back a few steps and almost falling.
Sun Guofan had lived most of his life. Old as he was, he never imagined he’d get slapped by a young guy like this. In his rage, he forgot to avenge his son. He spat out a mouthful of blood and collapsed to the ground, knocked out cold.
Du Hongde turned pale with shock and hurriedly yelled, “What are you staring at? Hurry and get the senior to the hospital!”
The Special Forces soldiers snapped out of their daze and quickly lifted the Sun father and son into the car. Without worrying about Liu Tianze being there, Du Hongde advised Tang Chen, “Little Tang, after this is all over, we hope you’ll come to our house. Things got a bit crazy this time, and the cleanup requires a talk with the Old Master.”
This wasn’t just a bit crazy—an important man had fallen like that. This mess would be hard to clean up.
Tang Chen realized that the Du family supporting him meant they’d crossed the line with Sun Guofan for good. Feeling a bit guilty, he nodded and said, “Don’t worry, Uncle Du. I’ll definitely come!”
Du Hongde agreed and then frantically got into the car and drove off. Likely, this incident was going to shake up the whole structure of Jingdu.
As for Liu Tianze’s followers, they got grabbed by Du Hongde too—helping someone to the end, he cleared up unnecessary trouble for Tang Chen.
The helicopter left, and Du Hongde’s crew left too. The huge villa was just the three of them again. Tang Chen said coldly to Liu Tianze, “Liu Tianze, see that? No matter what kind of help you find, you can’t touch this Young Master. Just accept defeat quietly.”
Liu Tianze suddenly felt powerless. He’d saved this backup plan, but still couldn’t capture Tang Chen. Of course, he hadn’t counted on Tang Chen showing up!
Liu Yanran walked over. After all that harsh talk earlier, she showed Liu Tianze no kindness. She spoke coldly, like to a stranger: “Liu Tianze, where is my mom? Say it! I’m taking her away, so she won’t trouble your care.”
Liu Tianze knew his game was over. He didn’t hide anything and said, “Your mom’s in our family Basement. I hired doctors and maids to look after her. She’s fine, rest easy.”
That only angered Liu Yanran more. She snapped, “A Basement? You locked my mom in a Basement? So you did treat her like a prisoner, huh?”
Tang Chen cut in, “Police Sister, no more pointless chatter. Liu Tianze, lead us to where the aunt is locked up right now. Or this Young Master kills you on the spot!”
Liu Tianze gave a bitter laugh. He didn’t have any cards left or any right to refuse. He led Tang Chen and the others into the Villa, pulled back an entrance in the bedroom to reveal a secret passageway. Inside was something like a wine storage cellar—this was where Liu Yanran’s mom was kept.
Bang!
Tang Chen held Liu Yanran with one hand and grabbed Liu Tianze with the other. All three went down into the cellar. The lights came on, and Liu Yanran saw her mom lying on a sickbed right away.
“Mom!” Liu Yanran’s tears burst out. She rushed over and saw her mom had an IV drip in her arm. Her face was pale; it looked like she was out cold.
“Liu Tianze, what did you do to my mom? Why can’t she hear me?” Liu Yanran’s beautiful eyes blazed with anger. If anything happened to her mom, she’d never forgive him!
“Heartless beast! Damn idiot!” Hearing Liu Yanran’s cry, Tang Chen punched Liu Tianze’s face angrily and kicked his temple hard. Poor Liu Tianze—he’d spent half his life in luxury and couldn’t withstand Tang Chen’s strength. He fell to the ground with a thud and didn’t move again.
Tang Chen hadn’t killed him, just knocked him out. Sure, the jerk deserved to die for his actions, but he was blood family to Liu Yanran. Killing him would be easy, but it would make Liu Yanran sad.
“Ah, Yanran, you’re here? Missing mom?” A weak voice came then. Liu Yanran startled happily and hugged her mom tightly, crying, “Mom, you’re awake! You’re okay! You scared me to death!”
Liu Yanran’s mom gently rubbed her hair and said, “Yanran, it’s been years since we last met. You’ve grown up more. Don’t worry, I’m fine. Your dad treated me well, getting doctors daily to check me. I just couldn’t see you and missed you so badly.”
“Mom, I missed you too!” Liu Yanran’s tears gushed like a broken dam. She held her mom and cried loudly, like a child lost from family for years.
Tang Chen felt something heavy in his chest and jumped away to leave the cellar. Liu Yanran and her mom hadn’t seen each other in ages; they surely had a lot to say. He didn’t want to be an extra light bulb.
Exiting the Villa, he saw the corpse of the police officer lying outside. Suddenly, his mind felt fuzzy. In the past, he’d never have believed he could do something so wild. But now?
Ring ring!
The Mobile Phone ringtone broke Tang Chen’s thoughts. He glanced at the caller ID and picked up, saying lightly, “Wife, what’s up? Missing me already though it’s only half a day?”
Yang Mi wasn’t in the mood to joke. Her voice sounded anxious: “Tang Chen, when are you coming back? Ding Xiang’s been accused by her old company.”
“Accused Ding Xiang? What’s going on?” Tang Chen pretended not to understand. Actually, he’d expected this. Ding Xiang’s Boss died, then she jumped ship right after—anyone could smell a rat there.
Yang Mi said worriedly, “I’m not sure either. They said something like Ding Xiang killed her Boss. How could that be? Ding Xiang could never kill anyone. Are they trying to stop her from leaving by making stuff up?”
Tang Chen thought for a second and reassured her: “Don’t panic first. My business here is nearly done. Whatever this is, wait till I get back. Try not to worry. I’m here, all okay.”
Tang Chen’s soothed words calmed Yang Mi down slightly.
Hanging up, Tang Chen frowned deeply. Then he called Boss Pang: “Old Pang, I told you last night to help me buy an Entertainment Company, right? Got any leads? No? Alright, no sweat. Young Master wants you to check the market value of Ding Xiang’s old company. Buy that one!”
After saying that, Tang Chen squinted his eyes. Killing one Boss didn’t wake them up? Well then, he’d just buy the whole company. See how they’d jump ship after that!
