Chapter 165: No Survivors
Chapter 165: No Survivors
“System, didn’t I already have an uncompleted High-level Mission to unify the school? Is it really okay for you to assign me another High-level Mission like this?” Tang Chen frowned and asked the System. Since when were High-level Missions so easy to trigger?
System: “Respected Host, this mission originally shouldn’t have triggered as a High-level Mission. But after hearing about these bandits, this System was extremely angry. So, consider this System as doing a good deed. I’m giving you a simpler High-level Mission.”
Listening to the System acting cute made Tang Chen speechless. This damn System was truly shameless. Making him deal with over a hundred bandits by himself, and it actually had the nerve to call it a simple mission given out of kindness? Damn, who knows what a difficult mission in its mouth would even be.
“If I’m doing it, I’m doing it. This Young Master will uphold justice for once today.” Tang Chen thought this, then stepped his right foot onto Chief Liu’s hand. He said coldly, “Chief Liu, this Young Master gives you a chance to live. Take me to your base. Otherwise, this Young Master will kill you right now.”
Chief Liu laughed hysterically again, like a maniac. His face was contorted, and his mouth was full of blood.
“Dream on! If you have the guts, kill me. Thinking I’d betray my own brother? You’re truly dreaming.” Chief Liu believed he wasn’t a coward afraid of death. Kill me if you want, but betraying my own blood brother? That’s something that deserves a lightning strike.
Tang Chen twitched his mouth helplessly and said calmly, “This Young Master really didn’t want to go on a killing spree, but you forced me!” As he spoke, Tang Chen reached into his pocket and pulled out a small spray bottle. It was the Compliance Spray he used last time to deal with Fan Jian.
Psst! Psst!
Tang Chen didn’t kill this idiot directly. If he killed him, who would lead him to complete the mission? The only way was like last time with Fan Jian: use the Compliance Spray on Chief Liu to give him an order, make him take Tang Chen to their hideout.
After spraying the Compliance Spray into Chief Liu’s mouth, Tang Chen slapped his face and said coldly, “Idiot, quickly take this Young Master to your den.”
“Yes, Master.” Chief Liu’s eyes were vacant as he mechanically climbed up from the ground. He was in the same state Fan Jian was last time—both controlled by the Compliance Spray.
Tang Chen didn’t leave immediately. Instead, he walked over to Wang Fu and the others and said, “Uncle Wang, I have something to take care of. I’ll be back soon to rescue you.”
Wang Fu glanced at Chief Liu standing obediently behind Tang Chen and asked, very puzzled, “Little Tang, what’s going on? What are you planning to do?”
Tang Chen smiled and said mysteriously, “It’s nothing big, just doing what I can. That’s all for now, I’ll be back soon.” As he spoke, he slapped Chief Liu’s head. Chief Liu immediately turned around and started leading the way.
Wang Fu and the others looked at each other. Could this young man use some kind of magic? Why else would someone as unruly as Fat Liu obey him?
At that moment, led by Chief Liu, Tang Chen had already entered the deep mountains. The System then said, “Respected Host, how do you plan to complete this mission?”
Tang Chen thought for a moment and said somewhat ruthlessly, “What else can I do? You bastard gave me a mission to wipe out all these scumbags. I’ll see when the time comes. If these bandits have truly committed too many evil deeds, then this Young Master will send them all to hell.”
System: “I feel like I might have issued a wrong mission. Respected Host, my advice remains the same: don’t let your bloodlust get too heavy.”
Tang Chen didn’t reply further because Chief Liu had now brought him to the front of a huge cave. It somewhat resembled the kind of monster caves in Journey to the West, just missing a sign at the entrance with some name like “Such-and-Such Cave.”
“Who’s there? Ah, it’s Brother Liu!” Two loud shouts came as two bandits carrying cleavers emerged from the grass. Dressed entirely in black, they instantly made Tang Chen feel like he’d jumped into a different scene.
“Hmm.” That was all Chief Liu could say now, and he prepared to continue inside.
One guard then said, “Brother Liu, weren’t you out collecting tribute? Why are you back already? Oh, I get it. You must be eager to enjoy that young girl we caught last time, right? To be honest, that girl is quite something.”
“Enough!” Tang Chen snorted coldly, stepping out from behind Chief Liu. How annoying were these two trash talking on and on? He still had a mission to do.
“Kid, don’t think you’re so great just because you’re Brother Liu’s subordinate. Brother Liu, aren’t you going to discipline this kid? No respect for elders.” One guard clearly mistook Tang Chen for Chief Liu’s subordinate and called out.
“Discipline your ass!” Tang Chen didn’t want to waste more words. In an instant, he closed in. One hand snapped a guy’s neck on the spot, while the other hand forcefully blocked the cleaver swung at him. Simultaneously, he kicked the other guard in the temple. Both guards fell to the ground dead in an instant.
“Trash.” Tang Chen cursed, then pushed Chief Liu and snorted, “Hurry inside.”
The space inside the cave was quite large. A large group of bandits sat at two long stone tables, some drinking, some eating meat. Tang Chen’s glance also caught several shirtless guys dragging a few girls—some dressed plainly, some provocatively—into corners. What they were doing naturally needed no explanation.
“Brother Liu, you’re here.” A few bandits noticed Chief Liu entering, and the group began bowing and scraping in greeting.
“Second Brother, why are you back so damn soon? Didn’t I tell you? I saved that young girl for you, Big Brother.” A large fat man weighing over two hundred pounds, sitting in the central seat, took a bite of a giant chicken leg in his hand, then scolded with a laugh.
This guy was Chief Liu’s elder brother, Bald Wang. He somewhat acted like a king here, ruling the mountain, very much like bandits from the Republican era.
“Second Brother, why aren’t you saying anything?” Bald Wang saw Chief Liu just standing in front of the stone table without a word. He put down his chicken leg, then shook his layers of fat as he walked over.
“So you’re Bald Wang?” Tang Chen saw the main guy had arrived. It was time to carry out his mission. He lightly stepped out from behind Chief Liu and said arrogantly.
Bald Wang looked at him and said coldly, “Who are you? You don’t seem to be one of our brothers. Who exactly are you?”
Tang Chen grinned, then punched Chief Liu, sending him sprawling to the ground. He smiled bloodthirstily, “This Young Master is here to take the lives of all you scum and dogs.”
“Second Brother! Kid, you’ve got some nerve!” Bald Wang was so angry he stomped his foot hard on the ground, leaving a deep footprint instantly.
“Dammit, daring to cause trouble here.”
“Shit, Big Brother, let’s kill him!”
“Big Brother, just say the word. I’ll go first and show him.” The other bandits also saw someone was here to pick a fight. They stopped drinking and eating, grabbing their weapons or rolling up their sleeves.
“A bunch of idiots. Killing you all? Ten seconds is more than enough.” Tang Chen said domineeringly, then his body moved. He rushed in front of Bald Wang, quickly punching and kicking his face and body. Then, with one hand grabbing his thigh and the other his waist, he lifted Bald Wang’s entire body up.
“Fuck your mother!” Bald Wang roared, his face turning purple. He grabbed Tang Chen’s hands with his own, trying to break them. But he didn’t expect Tang Chen to just give a light snort, suddenly leap up, smashing Bald Wang’s body against the cave’s stone ceiling. Then, releasing his right hand, he shouted and punched Bald Wang’s abdomen.
Bam!
For this punch, Tang Chen used the same full force he used to kill the brown bear. The punch landed, and Bald Wang’s fat belly felt like it exploded. One could even see yellowish filthy liquid flowing out.
“Big Brother!” The bandits surged forward. As Tang Chen leaped down, he threw Bald Wang’s body at them, instantly knocking several down. Tang Chen used this chance to jump out, then leaped up again, punching the stone wall at the cave entrance. Crack! A huge fissure slowly appeared.
This fissure spread out instantly like a spiderweb. In just ten seconds, the entire cave was covered in cracks.
Boom!
The massive cave collapsed in an instant. As for the hundred or so bandits inside—no survivors.
Tang Chen turned and left, hands in his pockets, whistling.
“Ding! Host has completed High-level Mission. Reward: one Invincible Cloak.”
