Chapter 153: Want to Exchange Numbers?

“System, why did the mission in progress change? Wasn’t it just about persuading her not to kill herself? Why do I have to punish that scumbag now? Do I look like someone with a lot of free time to you?” Tang Chen grumbled discontentedly to the System. He was eager to go home, and this new mission felt like an unnecessary hassle.

The System explained, “Respected Host. The missions issued by this System change based on this System’s mood. For instance, initially, this System thought it was just a silly girl. But after hearing her story, it was truly heartbreaking and moved this System to tears. That’s why the mission was specially altered.”

“Oh wow, since when did I know you were so sentimental, you idiot,” Tang Chen retorted sarcastically. He thought the System was just showing off and being annoying.

“Alright, Fang Xiaoqi, don’t be upset anymore. Consider yourself lucky today to have met someone like me who can change your destiny,” Tang Chen said in a boastful tone. Since he had to complete the mission, he figured he might as well get it over with quickly.

Fang Xiaoqi stared blankly at Tang Chen for a moment, then sobbed, “Yes, I’m really touched that you saved me. I’m sorry for losing my temper with you earlier.”

In truth, Fang Xiaoqi was inwardly cursing Tang Chen. She thought he was utterly outrageous—saving her was one thing, but why did he have to take her on that terrifying ride?

Tang Chen said seriously, “You’re wrong. I’m not just saving your life; I’m taking responsibility for your future. You might not see it, but my name is Lei Feng. Helping others is what I love to do most.”

Fang Xiaoqi shook her head honestly and replied, “I really can’t see that at all.”

Tang Chen’s mouth twitched awkwardly. He coughed and said, “It’s fine if you can’t tell. This Young Master is just too low-key. Enough nonsense—take me to find that first love of yours. This Young Master is going to teach that scumbag a proper lesson.”

Fang Xiaoqi asked warily, “Why are you so eager to help? First, you save me, and now you want to teach that scumbag a lesson? Do you have ulterior motives? Let me tell you, I’m not that kind of person.”

Smack!

Tang Chen slapped Fang Xiaoqi on the head. He had no patience for her foolishness and snapped angrily, “What the hell do you take this Young Master for? This Young Master just enjoys helping others. Besides, I want you to know that there are still plenty of good people in this world. Don’t resort to suicide over something trivial—killing yourself is the weakest move. Now take me there.”

Internally, Tang Chen was fuming. What nonsense about having ulterior motives? If it weren’t for the mission, would he even bother getting involved?

Fang Xiaoqi rubbed her head in grievance and said, “I understand. I’ll take you there right away.” With that, she led Tang Chen away from the spot.

They walked in silence until they reached the entrance of the nightclub. Just as they were about to enter, they spotted a large, fat man walking toward a car with two hot girls clinging to him. It looked like the girls were holding condoms in their hands.

“That’s him! Not only did he deceive me emotionally, but now he’s preying on other girls too,” Fang Xiaoqi fumed inwardly as soon as she saw him. She felt incredibly foolish for having given her genuine feelings to such a man and even considering suicide for his sake.

“Got it,” Tang Chen responded indifferently. He then strode forward, pulled the two hot girls away from the fat man, and landed a fierce punch directly on the man’s face.

Thud!

The sudden blow sent the fat man crashing heavily against the car, triggering the alarm loudly.

“Who are you? Why did you hit Boss Wang?” one of the hot girls demanded, bewildered by this stranger’s abrupt appearance.

“None of your damn business! Get lost!” Tang Chen backhanded both girls and spat in disgust. “Girls like you are pathetic. You’re young and have your looks—why not find a decent guy to date instead of sticking with a man like this? What, do girls these days have such terrible taste?”

Boss Wang, the large fat man, clutched his face and roared angrily, “Where the hell did you come from, you trash? Why did you hit me?”

“I’m hitting a beast like you!” Tang Chen kicked Boss Wang squarely in the crotch, then grabbed his head and smashed it hard against the car window. The glass shattered with a crack, fragments flying everywhere.

“Ah! Murder!” The two hot girls, having delivered their final lines, screamed and fled the scene.

“Fang Xiaoqi, come here,” Tang Chen called without turning around. His voice carried an irresistible authority, and Fang Xiaoqi didn’t dare refuse. She slowly walked over to him.

“Is this the first love you were so hung up on? This idiot who’s as handsome as Wu Yanzu?” Tang Chen threw the bloodied Boss Wang at Fang Xiaoqi’s feet, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

“I was deceived by him,” Fang Xiaoqi said, growing angrier the more she looked at him.

Tang Chen sneered contemptuously. “The reason you got deceived is that you’re an idiot. You’re a complete fool! You never even met him in person, yet you easily gave your first love to this disgusting pig. Are girls these days really that easy to fool? Back in the day, there was that story about the five-yuan spicy hotpot. Are you trying to create your own spicy hotpot story now? Love is supposed to be sacred and pure—it requires careful consideration. You’ve never even met him, and you’re telling me you loved him so deeply? Deep, my ass! Did you think sounding poetic would make you Zhang Ailing? At least Zhang Ailing had someone she truly loved in her lifetime. And you? You’re trash for falling for someone like this. What’s even more ridiculous is that you were going to kill yourself over such garbage. Tell me, aren’t you just asking for it?”

Fang Xiaoqi had no retort. Tears welled in her eyes, but she stubbornly held them back. Word by word, she said, “Yes, I was asking for it. I am an idiot. I was blinded by my own naivety. I shouldn’t have considered suicide for someone like this. I shouldn’t have!”

Don’t blame Tang Chen for being so blunt and harsh. Besides drug addiction, another thing that often requires a severe scolding to overcome is blind love. Berating her was for her own good—and it helped him complete his mission.

Tang Chen grunted in acknowledgment and said coldly, “Good, it’s good that you recognize your mistake. Now prove it to me—use your feet to stomp that ugly face of his into a pulp. Let him know he doesn’t look anything like Wu Yanzu—he’s a pig-headed fool!”

Fang Xiaoqi didn’t refuse. She let out a sharp cry, stepped over to Boss Wang, lifted her right foot, and stomped hard on his face. With each stomp, she cursed, “How dare you deceive me! How dare you pretend to be Wu Yanzu! How dare you be such trash! How dare you do such awful things! You garbage! You scum!”

Boss Wang didn’t even have a chance to scream as Fang Xiaoqi subjected him to a full minute of abuse. She was determined to crush every last bit of her ridiculous first love beneath her feet.

“What are you doing? Why are you hitting someone?” A security guard, hearing the commotion, approached and tried to intervene with his baton.

Tang Chen’s eyes turned cold. He swiftly moved forward, jabbed his hand into the guard’s arm, twisted it forcefully until it broke, then threw the guard to the ground and kicked him unconscious.

“Ding! Congratulations, Host, for completing the mission. Young Master Aura Points increased by fifteen,” the System announced, notifying Tang Chen that the mission was accomplished.

Tang Chen grunted indifferently. Seeing that Boss Wang was barely recognizable and that Fang Xiaoqi had vented sufficiently, he simply grabbed her and left.

“So, feeling better now?” Tang Chen asked Fang Xiaoqi. Her eyes were still red, but her spirits seemed much improved.

Fang Xiaoqi nodded and said gratefully, “Thank you. Thank you for helping me untie this knot in my heart.”

Tang Chen waved a hand dismissively and laughed. “This Young Master just doesn’t want to encounter another girl attempting to jump off a building on some random day in the future. That feeling is just terrible.”

Fang Xiaoqi chuckled suddenly, wiping away her tears. “I didn’t expect you to be quite humorous. Want to exchange numbers?”

Tang Chen smiled and said, “Forget it. If fate allows, we’ll meet again. I’m not the type to ask for a beauty’s number upon first meeting. I’m heading off now—you should go home early too.” With that, he turned and walked away.

Fang Xiaoqi felt a little disappointed but didn’t insist. She smiled wryly to herself and left the spot.
