Chapter 14: The Real Rich Boss

Tang Chen smiled casually and said, “I was definitely not joking. So, Principal, is this deal pretty good or not?”

The Principal started to look Tang Chen over again. He knew something about this student. Tang Chen was a special case—no background, no family influence. Usually, he was the least noticeable in his class. If not for him hitting Xie Tingfeng this time, the Principal might never have paid him any attention.

But now, looking at his calm and confident expression, it seemed like he really had everything under control. Had the Principal been wrong about him all along?

“How sure are you?” the Principal asked, biting his lip. At the same time, it was clear he was interested. No wonder—he had always been suppressed by the board of directors. Anyone in his position would want some payback.

Tang Chen curled his lips confidently and said, “I never fight battles I’m not prepared for. As long as you believe in me, Principal, I promise you I can definitely pull it off!”

Tang Chen wanted to help the Principal for a couple of reasons. On one hand, it was like finding a backer at school. Even though, with his current level, he didn’t really need someone to watch his back, there were some things he couldn’t handle himself, and having the Principal’s help would make things easier.

On the other hand, and this was the most important reason, it was about the mission. Once he took on this matter, the System was sure to assign him a mission. Then, he would be even closer to reaching the critical point of the tall, rich, and handsome aura.

The Principal was silent for a long time, and finally made up his mind. He said, “Alright, Tang Chen, I’ll trust you this once. If you can really help me turn things around, I’ll definitely give you all the academic support I can.”

Tang Chen grinned and said, “I can assure you, this is the smartest decision you’ve ever made!”

Five minutes later, Tang Chen walked out of the principal’s office feeling very satisfied. As he walked down the hallway, he asked the System, “System, why haven’t you given me a mission this time?”

The System said, “Respected Host, this System sees right through your little schemes. I won’t fall for it so easily.”

No, this kid must have come back to pack his things. That had to be it! Everyone thought this way. Tang Chen glanced at the teacher and said to the Chinese teacher, “Reporting, teacher, I’m back.”

The Chinese teacher was a woman with glasses. She nodded and said, “Good that you’re back. Hurry and take your seat.”

Tang Chen grunted in response, then coldly swept his eyes over the surrounding students, snorted, and went back to his seat. Then, under the astonished gazes of the students waiting for a show, he took out his book and started reading.

What the hell, was it the end of the world? Why could Tang Chen come back to class after hitting someone? Did Director Xie not manage to kick this guy out? That was what all the people who looked down on Tang Chen were thinking.

Little did they know, the Director Xie they were counting on was currently lying on a bed in the infirmary, his right cheek swollen.

While Tang Chen was buried in his book, he suddenly heard a sound. His eyes darted and saw a ball of paper had landed to the right of his book. She was just kindly concerned about him. How annoying! After thinking for a moment, Yang Mi directly threw the paper ball into her desk, deciding not to reply anymore.

Seeing that Yang Mi didn’t reply again, Tang Chen felt a bit disappointed. He thought about it, then wrote another note and threw it to Yang Mi. Yang Mi opened it and saw it said: Beauty Yang, are you angry? I was just joking. How about I tell you a joke?

Yang Mi wasn’t actually angry and became interested. She quickly wrote “Okay” on it and threw it back to Tang Chen.

A mischievous glint flashed in Tang Chen’s eyes. He wrote a passage and threw it back, then chuckled to himself. He was really looking forward to Yang Mi’s expression after she read it.

Yang Mi opened the paper ball with curiosity, then felt a black line form on her forehead. It said: A boy and a girl were on their first date. The boy was named Tang Chen, and the girl was named Yang Mi. They wanted to add some romance, so Tang Chen said to Yang Mi: “Hi, I Fuck You.” Yang Mi smiled and said: “Hello, Fuck Me.”

“Jerk!” Yang Mi spat out angrily. She thought about throwing the paper ball into the trash can beside her, but was afraid other students might see it, so she stuffed it into her desk instead. She felt both annoyed and amused.

Tang Chen saw Yang Mi glare at him angrily and found it funny. He didn’t reply anymore. When teasing a girl, you had to know the limits. Within limits, it was called flirting; beyond that, it was just harassment.

After school, Tang Chen went to the gate as agreed to wait for Yang Mi. When classmates saw Tang Chen, they deliberately avoided him. Tang Chen didn’t really care. Ten minutes later, Yang Mi came out.

“Yang Mi, over here!” Tang Chen called out, then walked over to greet her.

Yang Mi grunted and asked, “Have you been waiting long?”

Tang Chen smiled casually and then said, “Let’s go, we’re eating at Junyue today. I’ll treat you to something delicious.”

Yang Mi grunted in agreement and didn’t ask something like whether he had enough money. In her opinion, men cared about their pride. Asking such a question would be too hurtful.

The scene of the two walking side by side toward the bus stop was seen by many students. Some boys said angrily, “Damn, Tang Chen actually managed to pick up Yang Mi. It’s really like a beautiful flower stuck in a pile of cow dung!”

Tang Chen and Yang Mi got on the bus. Along the way, Tang Chen’s chatty nature made Yang Mi giggle repeatedly. They soon arrived at Junyue. Just as they reached the entrance, two new security guards hurried over, bowed, and called out, “Young Master Tang!”

Yang Mi was stunned by the address “Young Master Tang.” Were these security guards calling Tang Chen that? Since when did he become Young Master Tang?

These two security guards were both newly hired by Boss Pang. Before they started, Boss Pang had shown them Tang Chen’s picture and told them that if they ever saw someone who looked like a student—young, not dressed richly—coming to eat here, they must not stop him, because that person might very well be their new boss!

Tang Chen grunted in satisfaction and said, “Old Pang did well this time. Finally, he didn’t hire those snobbish types who ruin the mood like last time.
