Chapter 151: One Kick
Chapter 151: One Kick
A deity?
Ding Le felt doubtful – not about gods existing, but about this scruffy man claiming to be a deity’s disciple.
“Enough chatter.”
The disheveled man cut off the conversation, raising his cracked bowl.
“When I left the mountain, my master wept. To repay his kindness, I vowed to beg across the world and carve my own path.” Bai Song spoke without shame, conveniently forgetting how he’d been thrown down the mountain with a lightning bolt chasing his heels.
Begging across the world?
Both Ding Le and Wu Li gaped at the man’s “noble ambition”. How could anyone be this shameless?
“Got tired of begging after a while. Used the treasures I collected to build this nest.” Bai Song finally got to the point, revealing the apartment building was his creation – a pile of Rule Objects cobbled together.
“Spent a year begging, six months building. Planned to be the mastermind behind it all, until you meddling brat ruined everything!” Bai Song’s voice rose. “How should I deal with you…”
CRASH!
Ding Le moved before the man finished talking. The chubby youth’s foot lashed out –
Fast.
Brutal.
Precise.
Bai Song never expected the fatty to resist his Rule Objects’ influence. Maybe he’d overestimated the boy’s patience. One moment he was posturing as the mastermind, the next he went tumbling like a kicked gourd across the floor.
“OW!”
His yelp faded into the distance.
Ding Le had poured his full Golden Core cultivation into that kick. It would’ve killed even taboo-level ability users. Yet Bai Song wasn’t even properly hurt – Ding Le sensed the man’s energy remained steady.
“Senior Sister, go! I’ll handle the rescue!”
Ding Le tore reality open with both hands. Before Wu Li and the three dazed Reincarnators could react, he’d shoved them through the rift. Then he vanished into the frozen world to save Wu Qiuyue – Senior Sister’s first request in years demanded his best effort.
The whole exchange took mere breaths. Wu Li blinked to find herself outside the cursed building, church forces surrounding them.
“We… escaped?” The Reincarnators shook. They couldn’t believe they’d fled that hellish cycle. Their gratitude towards the “plump expert” knew no bounds.
“Team Leader Wu?”
Xu Lu’s voice cracked. Wu Li’s colleague looked haggard – while minutes had passed for Wu Li in the cycle, weeks had dragged outside. Xu Lu had mobilized church resources, even recruiting capital team sergeants for a rescue mission… only for Wu Li to walk out unaided.
“What happened inside?” The sergeants pressed. Normal people shouldn’t escape a Rule Object cluster. This meant instability.
A priest approached, divine summoning rites half-completed behind him. “Report. And explain these three.”
Wu Li steadied herself. Spotting the church badge, she began recounting events as the Reincarnators stood trapped by church forces.
Inside the frozen cycle realm, Wu Qiuyue wasn’t struggling – she was thriving. The elemental ability user had grown beyond standard ratings during her three years here.
“Freeze.”
Giant mammoth-icicles shattered against the ice around her. Once a devout believer, Wu Qiuyue’s faith had died with the bamboo doll incident. Now in the cycle, she questioned everything.
“Rules belong to gods.” The shadow-warper’s voice echoed. A gnome-like guardian emerged – the same one who’d recruited Shadow Demon Chen Fei. “Your flames could burn worlds, yet gods need only say ‘no fire here’ to make you helpless.”
“Gods.” Wu Qiuyue’s eyes held bitter fire now.
“Power growth is pointless. Only rule mastery matters.” The gnome pressed. “Chen Fei walked this path. Soon masses will worship him as a god. Can you accept that?”
Wu Qiuyue’s silence answered. Her body shimmered, icy elements blending with new energy – something resembling Immortal Cultivator power.
“Enough talk. Let’s claim this Rule Object.”
