Chapter 17: Poison Sac
Chapter 17: Poison Sac
The Green Poison Insect had a desperate look in its eyes. It let out a sharp, mournful cry. With a loud pop, all the pustules on its body that looked like bumps burst open. The foul-smelling pus splattered everywhere, turning everything around it green.
“Xu Feng!” Wang Ying screamed in fright. The Green Poison Insect’s move had no warning. Anyone near its body would definitely get splashed.
Xu Feng, who was standing on the Green Poison Insect at the time, naturally got splashed all over.
However, the moment the Green Poison Insect prepared to burst its pustules, Xu Feng had already used his arms to cover his head and face. He curled up his body to make himself as small as possible. By the time the pus finished spraying, only Xu Feng’s clothes, pants, and the exposed parts of his arms and neck were stained with some pus.
“It’s okay. This pus only has a paralyzing effect,” Xu Feng stood up and shouted to Wang Ying.
Seeing that its last move was useless, the Green Poison Insect had a desperate look in its eyes. It seemed to want to struggle to get up, but by then, Xu Feng had already slashed at the white spot on the Green Poison Insect’s neck. Immediately, the Green Poison Insect’s huge body began to convulse continuously. Soon, its body stiffened, its limbs went limp, and it lay on the ground motionless.
“Xu Feng, are you okay?” Wang Ying quickly ran over and looked nervously at Xu Feng, who was standing high on the Green Poison Insect’s back.
“I’m fine. I was a bit careless. Not all Green Poison Insects burst their pustules at the end. I originally wanted to cut off this Green Poison Insect’s skin and collect some pus to use as a weapon. But now, it seems unnecessary,” Xu Feng said with some regret, glancing at the splattered poison around him.
“Is it… is it dead?” Wang Ying asked, fearfully looking at the Green Poison Insect’s huge body.
“It’s dead. This is its only weak point. Almost all its nerves cross and gather here. You just need to stab this spot, and it’s definitely dead,” Xu Feng said, pointing at the white spot.
“Then quickly take out the Poison Sac and let’s leave. The smell here is really terrible,” Wang Ying said, frowning.
“Wait a moment. I got some pus on me earlier. If I ignore it, it will harm my body.” After saying this, Xu Feng dug out the Green Poison Insect’s Insect Crystal and turned to walk towards the Green Glow Algae.
He grabbed some Green Glow Algae and carefully applied it to the skin that had been stained with the pus.
The pus on the Green Poison Insect’s body not only causes a paralyzing effect but also irritates the skin if it gets on it, making a person unbearably itchy, to the point where they would want to cut off that patch of skin. If it were someone else, they would already be scratching frantically, desperate to remove the skin touched by the pus.
Xu Feng had experienced this kind of pain countless times before, which is why he could remain expressionless, giving the impression that the pus wasn’t very powerful.
This pus can only be absorbed by applying Green Glow Algae. Soon, a cool sensation spread over the exposed skin on Xu Feng’s body.
Xu Feng glanced at the Bone-Cleaver in his hand. By now, the Bone-Cleaver was covered in rust. The Green Poison Insect’s blood also had a slight corrosive effect. Being only of ordinary quality, the Bone-Cleaver could no longer be used after killing the poison insect.
“It seems I need to change my weapon soon. Ordinary quality weapons can no longer meet my needs. Fortunately, the mission is complete, and I’ll soon get a Black Iron Grade longsword.”
Using the nearly broken Bone-Cleaver, Xu Feng cut open the body of this One Star Green Poison Insect and found a large Poison Sac. However, this Poison Sac had already shot out poison several times and looked somewhat shrunken, only about one-third full.
“Alright, let’s go.” After having Wang Ying put away the Poison Sac, Xu Feng casually threw away the Bone-Cleaver in his hand. He looked back at the Green Poison Insect’s body and said.
“Xu Feng, you’re amazing. Such a big monster, and you made it spin around in circles. It was so funny watching it fail to attack you.” After the battle, Wang Ying seemed excited and chattered around Xu Feng.
“Heh, it’s just big and looks scary. It’s really not a big deal,” Xu Feng said with a laugh.
“No way! When it sprayed poison, it was so powerful. It could corrode a large patch of concrete instantly. If it splashed on a person, probably not even bones would remain.”
“Haha, when you see more in the future, you’ll know that’s really nothing.”
The two returned the way they came, heading towards the place where the Wandering Merchant was.
…
“Wang Zhipeng, look at that man and woman. Aren’t they the two from earlier?”
“Hey, where are they going?”
“Wang Zhipeng, your friend is so strong. Let’s go apologize to him and see if we can stay with him…”
The group from the pharmacy earlier saw Xu Feng and Wang Ying heading into an alley. They couldn’t help but stick their heads out, staring at their retreating figures.
Wang Zhipeng’s face was gloomy. Originally, he and Xu Feng had a good relationship. Since Xu Feng came to this city, the first friend he made was Wang Zhipeng. If the pharmacy incident hadn’t happened, just saying a few soft words would have probably made Xu Feng let him stay together.
“I miscalculated. I didn’t expect Xu Feng to already be this powerful. I originally wanted to take some advantage from him, but ended up with nothing.” Wang Zhipeng was now filled with regret.
However, what he didn’t know was that even if the pharmacy incident hadn’t happened, Xu Feng would not have let him stay together.
“Let’s go. Let’s follow them and see where they’re going. I have a feeling they encountered something good.” Wang Zhipeng gritted his teeth and said.
Xu Feng’s suddenly increased Strength, his skill in killing insects, and his action of going to the pharmacy for medicine all seemed mysterious. It made Wang Zhipeng want to figure out what exactly had happened to Xu Feng to make him so powerful all of a sudden.
…
“Xu Feng, there seems to be a group of people following us,” Wang Ying suddenly whispered.
“Hmph, I saw them long ago. Let them follow,” Xu Feng said with a slight smile at the corner of his mouth. Pretending not to have noticed anything, he continued walking towards the Wandering Merchant.
“Even if I don’t take action, that guy is asking for death himself. Who can he blame?”
“Oh, so fast? You completed the mission already?” The Wandering Merchant looked at Xu Feng in surprise. He sized him up and down, noticing that Xu Feng didn’t even have a single injury. He couldn’t help but frown and said in a low voice, “Don’t tell me you haven’t even started the mission? If you haven’t completed the mission, I refuse to trade with you.”
“Haha, such a simple mission, how could I not complete it?” Xu Feng laughed heartily and signaled to Wang Ying.
Wang Ying took out a fist-sized Poison Sac from her Virtual Backpack.
