Chapter 120: Is She Really Dead?
Chapter 120: Is She Really Dead?
“Alas, this woman, go kill your Princess Royal quickly, why start trouble with me?” In his heart, Sun Fei sighed and really wanted to say this to that crazy woman called Paris. After all, her real mission was to kill the Princess Royal, so why wasn’t she focusing on her job but instead messing with his woman? She should quickly get back to her promising assassin profession properly.
“Release Angela, I swear in the name of the King that I will no longer interfere in your affairs.” Sun Fei stared into Paris’s charming yet dangerous-looking eyes and finally made his offer.
Clearly, this attractive woman held Angela captive not just out of revenge. One could imagine she had planned this assassination against the Princess Royal for who knows how long, but right before executing her plan, Sun Fei, a Four-Star Expert, appeared out of nowhere. Or to put it another way, Sun Fei’s growth in Might was too fast—it caught Paris off guard. No one had ever jumped from early Three-Star to Four-Star Expert in just a few days.
Maybe on any other occasion, a mere Four-Star Expert wouldn’t have mattered to someone like Paris, but in this plan, she truly had to take it seriously.
For both the Princess Royal and Tanasha, this assassination was a battle on a razor-thin wire. Both had to tread carefully at every step, going over each detail and connection in their plans thousands of times before. As the two smartest women in the Imperial Capital Zenit, they understood better than anyone that even the slightest unpredictable factor could instantly ruin the whole plan, and failure meant death with no burial ground.
The real background was quite simple: Taking advantage of the new king’s coronation event in Shampoo City, Princess Royal Tanasha used herself as bait, while the sultry woman Paris turned this to her advantage. These two most famous women in St. Petersburg both wanted to kill each other to gain an edge for the people behind them in the future battle for the throne. Time was short, so this was almost their final fight—the winner took all. In their years of rivalry, they knew each other’s Might and tactics well. Originally, their strengths were in a delicate balance, like playing cards with similar hands. But if one side suddenly got an extra Ace, the outcome became obvious.
Paris had battled with Tanasha, called the Female Literary Sage, for so long that she wasn’t just a foolish beauty. On the contrary, she was terrifyingly sharp and clever.
When he first appeared on the Royal Altar, she had stirred Sun Fei’s emotions with just a few words and probed his real weakness—only by controlling that woman could she stop Sun Fei, the unpredictable factor, from affecting the battle.
That’s why she struck so suddenly, leaving everyone surprised by not attacking the Princess Royal but instead targeting the defenseless Angela.
Paris succeeded. At least for now, she had everything under control. She had restrained the ‘unpredictable factor’ with minimal cost, keeping the King too busy so he couldn’t help the Princess Royal even a bit. As time crept by, the balance of the fight at the Eastern Peak Summit in Shampoo City slowly tipped in the assassins’ favor.
What a terrifying woman. Sun Fei only vaguely grasped Paris’s true motive at that moment.
So, he opened his mouth to make an offer. But—
“Giggle, my Little King, I won’t release your woman, and you still can’t act. Why should I ever let her go just because of some cheap words from you?” A flicker of surprise appeared in Paris’s eyes; she hadn’t expected this little king to catch on so fast. But no matter what, she wouldn’t free anyone. After experiencing dark secrets most people couldn’t imagine, she trusted real control far more than silly oaths or promises.
Sun Fei froze, not expecting the woman to be so stubborn and unreasonable.
Things looked bad for both the Princess Royal and Sun Fei. They were truly tied together—if the allies of the assassins killed all the Princess Royal’s key fighters, Sun Fei and the others would be next, with no escape.
Sun Fei frowned deeply.
“Alexander…” Just then, Angela, who had stayed quiet, suddenly spoke. Her voice sounded shockingly calm. “Listen to me, Alexander. If you can do it, kill this woman to avenge me and Gemma…” As she spoke, a trickle of bright red blood flowed from the corner of her mouth. Her graceful neck, beautiful as a swan’s, hung weakly. Her body tilted backwards, and a sweet breath of life drifted away in the golden morning sun, turning into still silence.
“Angela!!!” Roared Sun Fei. His heart nearly tore apart. Like a furious lion, a green and purple light flared from his hands. With a stomp on the ground, rocks beneath him cracked into a sharp downward hole. The Purple and Green Twin Swords twisted into a Blade Storm, charged with deadly fury, as he charged toward Paris.
Paris, too, was stunned for an instant. She hadn’t expected the girl in her arms to be so fierce and brave, suddenly biting her tongue to die. Though she felt a hint of doubt, she sensed Angela’s heart slowly stop beating. Being a woman herself, Paris felt a strange wave of emotion and softly sighed. She gently pushed Angela’s body out toward Sun Fei.
“Here, take her body back… in truth, I never planned to kill her.” With a flicker in movement, Paris vanished from the spot. Her voice reached Sun Fei’s ears. The tough and cruel woman had actually defended herself—maybe this was a rare exception for her.
Sun Fei sheathed the Purple and Green Twin Swords and caught her falling body in his arms.
“Xiao Hei!!” Sun Fei shouted wildly.
Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof!
A sudden, loud barking cut through the screams and moans on the Eastern Peak Summit, reaching everyone’s ears. In startled gazes, an astonishingly huge black dog bolted like a dark bolt to Sun Fei’s side. Sun Fei placed Angela’s body on the Big Black Dog’s back, gave a light tap, and with two barks, the dog dashed off as a black whirlwind and vanished from the summit.
“Just die already!”
Seeing Xiao Hei carry Angela off safely, Sun Fei felt a weight lift from his chest. He spun around sharply, scanned the battling crowd, and suddenly summoned the Purple and Green Twin Swords. Rage burned in his eyes. He leaped over the tall assassin wielding yellow curved blades who was slaughtering Zenit cavalry. The Twin Swords crashed down like a mountain, chopping fiercely onto those blades.
Boom!
A massive explosion echoed as smoke and dust shot upward. The two blade-wielders had no time to dodge. They barely crossed their curved swords to block, but felt overwhelming Might surge through the metal. Both their knees buckled at once—thud!—they knelt down hard, sunk halfway into the ground like nails. Blood gushed from their mouths.
In one move, Sun Fei’s face hardened to ice—cold and threatening.
He swiftly kicked twice at the chests of the pair who hadn’t yet stood. His feet crushed the air with heavy cracks. If those hits landed, even boulders would split—no escape. Their souls almost trembling, the swordsmen both gripped their blades in front in defense. With a shove of their arms guarding their chests, Sun Fei’s massive Might hurled them from the rubble. They flew down the shattered Royal Altar, spraying blood.
“Get out of hiding!”
After kicking away the swordsmen, Sun Fei stamped hard on the ground. Cracks spidered out beneath him. The ground shook uncontrollably as intense Might pierced through.
Next, an orange aura flashed as the earth-focused assassin hiding underground screamed out, forced from the rocks by that crushing blow. Sun Fei’s stomp had struck him head-on underground. He scrambled out, barely alive—his fighting power nearly gone—and frantically fled.
Unbelievably strong!
Shocking feats!
The Princess Royal, hidden in the cavalry shield, was shocked by the scene.
Sun Fei at full rage showed extraordinary Might. His Level 21 Barbarian powers as a Barbarian were on full display—raw force overpowered fancy tricks. Those Battle Qi experts couldn’t even react before they vomited blood and fell back.
In seconds, three assassins were knocked out.
The battle shifted drastically.
Paris, the seductive woman who’d been fighting alongside the sword-wielding assassin to shatter the purple flames and kill the Princess Royal, looked annoyed and panicked. She flashed away from Purple Flame, soaring straight toward Sun Fei.
Her slender hands shimmered with green auras. A tender push—almost like a lover’s gesture—split into two green rays that morphed into giant divine birds. Their wings fluttered like knives, blades sharp as teeth—unstoppable and world-shattering. They covered the sky, racing at Sun Fei.
Where the birds soared, earth broke, rocks smashed, and bodies flew in terrible chaos.
Sun Fei laughed wildly.
His Barbarian Skills—Gravity Strike and Dual Swing—blended. The Twin Swords whirled into a Blade Storm, screeching metal. Sun Fei charged forward—reckless, unstoppable—straight at the birds.
Finally, green birds collided with the Twin Swords.
Boom!
The mountain shuddered from their clash.
A huge shockwave burst out. Anyone nearby got swept off like leaves in a storm, powerless to resist. Rocks, dust, blood, and weapons spun madly, swirling into a strange tornado. Within twenty feet of Sun Fei and Paris, everything tore apart—crumbling to dust.
A beautiful storm.
