Chapter 236: Elsa’s Kiss, Mother’s Identity

At first, Elsa only planned to be a host inside Sizar for a while. She intended to slowly work on her “Bishoujo Completion Plan” while gathering energy. When the time came, she would reach out to Sizar herself. She would take out the body prepared in her lair and come back to life once more.

However, an accident happened! The very first time Elsa took over Sizar’s body, her soul caught the attention of the Sin Mark.

The Sin Mark of the Gluttony Clan was like a super cheat tool with many functions rolled into one. Sizar’s bloodline wasn’t pure enough to awaken a Sin Mark naturally. But his talent was extraordinary, and Monte, who knew talent when he saw it, gave his grandson this special chance. Sizar didn’t disappoint his grandfather. He perfectly activated his own Sin Mark.

When each direct descendant of the Sin Clan reached a certain age, they automatically awakened a Sin Mark. Then, without needing any teaching, countless inherited abilities would appear in their minds. Based on their interests and strengths, they chose the most advantageous talent and then worked hard to grow it. This ability greatly helped the Sin Clan survive.

Additionally, Sin Clan members in Hell could use the Sin Mark to connect to Hell’s consciousness. They could get endless pure power without any cost. It was similar to how Deities on Ceylon Planet could draw energy through the World Vein. The Sin Mark, however, worked anywhere in Hell with no limits. The power it gave was very pure, totally harmless, and far better than the expensive Magic Fluid Sizar bought.

Besides holding talent information and pulling power from Hell’s consciousness, the cheat tool had a third function: automatic growth. Without the host doing anything, the Sin Mark would actively seek out compatible “items,” swallow them, then evolve and develop new abilities bit by bit.

For example, Dorothy’s Sin Mark once spontaneously swallowed a sacred Puppet meant for transferring Soul Imprints. Then it evolved the overpowered ability to “split bodies endlessly.” Thanks to Sizar, plenty of good items passed by – the Monkey Mother Ring, that key containing the Celestial Seal, and various other odds and ends. But his Sin Mark ignored every single one, until Elsa appeared.

The soul of a Harm Rank Serpent Demon? For a newborn Sin Mark, that was like super-rich soul food. It could help it grow big and strong! Besides, the Sin Mark was engraved deep in the soul itself – unique rules etched onto flesh. Fighting souls? Easy. Done in minutes. So, after forcing her way into Sizar’s body, Elsa got swallowed by the Sin Mark next.

Sin Marks themselves didn’t have self-awareness. They were much like a support program. Only by repeated nurturing and development by the host could they become a semi-sentient weapon.

Sizar’s Sin Mark, acting on instinct, swallowed Elsa’s soul. But both Sizar’s soul power and the Sin Mark’s energy combined weren’t even as strong as Elsa alone. So how could he possibly swallow such a powerful Harm Rank snake spirit?

It was like a snake greedy enough to swallow an elephant – way above its level! The pitiful little Sin Mark kept stubbornly biting Elsa, unable to let go. Sizar, the oblivious “owner,” trailed after Lord G like an excited puppy during those days. What followed? Nonstop battles. The Sin Mark fought desperately to dismantle the Serpent Demon, while Elsa constantly broke free.

The Sin Mark was too weak to chew much of her soul beyond the tiniest nibbles. Yet it locked her firmly away, slowly trying to merge instead. Elsa? Pure violence. She knew nothing about soul techniques. Utterly unskilled in them. Trapped inside the prison cell, she could only get assimilated piece by piece. If it hadn’t been her spirit – say an outside enemy – they’d likely have easily swallowed up the Sin Mark! Then stole possession away from poor Sizar. But Elsa couldn’t. Wouldn’t do that. Ever.

After many months… grinding it out, battling… Elsa finally replaced that program. She became Sizar’s Sin Mark. From that day on, Sizar gained a self-aware Sin Mark. For Elsa? Resurrection lost forever.

“Huh… What a twisted journey,” Sizar murmured after her tale, scratching his head at a loss how to console her. From a sexy big sister like Elsa turned into… just a mouth? Whoever heard of such a change? Nobody could accept that easily, right?

“Oh, there’s one more thing to tell you… Brace yourself.” Her voice emerged again from that unsettling spot.

“What now?”

“Well… I kinda forced my way into controlling the Sin Mark.”

“Hm?” Sizar hummed pointedly, telling this snake spirit to spill everything.

“Which means… everything recorded inside the Sin Mark is gone! Every single talent list! Every plan for my growth path! All… everything vanished!” Elsa gave an awkward cough before adding, “There’s nowhere left for your Sin Mark to go.”

He remembered seeing countless talents and Spell Formations available through his Sin Mark once – he’d even carefully picked two of them for himself. Now? After Elsa gave such grand introductions about it? Those hopes soared sky-high! Having a mighty Serpent Demon like her become its core consciousness? That should’ve meant an even higher ceiling, right?! But never would he have guessed… She formatted his Sin Mark?!

“So what do I do?” Stupid question falling flatly.

“Nowhere to go? Means finding our own way out!” Her voice sounded weak and timid then.

“…”

Silence stretched moments before Sizar gathered his wits. Honestly? He hadn’t put much weight behind this Sin Mark thing anyway. Beneficial? Great news! Formatted? No skin off his nose, really.

“Also, Elsa… now that you’re the Sin Mark… what should I call you? Keep using your name? Or… call you Sin Mark?”

“Aren’t you even mad? Anyway… call it ‘Elsa’s Kiss’ then! Oh – here’s something good to make up for it! While I totally lost all those records? Not all bad luck. Turns out… I’ve been stuck inside the Death Energy Pool awhile. Got awfully familiar that formation! Confident I can fuse it with the Sin Mark – develop some cool new power for you. Might even restore this Death Energy Pool to whatever its true form really was!” Some earnest reassurance came at last.

“Do what fits you best! Truthfully? Ever since finishing the Death Energy Pool? Haven’t touched it once. So… practically worthless right now anyway! Go ahead, repurpose some trash! Anyway! Enough distractions now! Mind finally getting serious here? What’s the real problem?” Shifting posture, he leaned comfortably into cushions below.

“Ask away! Me? Got nothing better to do for twenty-four hours straight these days than entertain you. Chatting helps shake off loneliness – that’s all,” a grumble whine dripped from that mouth upon his chest.

“You’re luckier than Dorothy’s Sin Mark! Least I see you here! Instead of… say… stuck behind my neck!”

“Also means I can’t kiss you at all anymore,” regret deep within her tone now.

“Ahem! Change topic? What counts? Well… will I become a girl again?” Critical point at last!

“Nope. That previous instance? Total bodily takeover! Erased you! Plus using spirit patterns matching my prior biological structure forcefully remodeled yours… Won’t happen again! Unless you willingly surrender bodily control to the Sin Mark of course… but when taken back? Everything reverts immediately.” Yet sadness soaked every word… So many accidents ruined everything. If not? She’d have stayed hidden down inside that Death Energy Pool… gradually sculpting Sizar’s body towards her dreams… Only emerging once the girl-creation plan came successful someday. Now? Not possible. No chance at all.

“That’s wonderful!” Masculine pride safeguarded – deep sigh poured out before: “One other thing. Why make me leave Central Continent? Don’t mention that dumb ‘Fountain of Motherly Drowning’ story again! Beyond ridiculous!”

“That reason? Sizar… It gets really tangled… But… you’ll know eventually.” Long breath escaped Sin Mark Elsa. “Kept you away… to avoid Augustine mostly. Lost my physical form! Became a Sin Mark! Meaning I can’t shield you again! So… distance kept you far from Central Continent!”

“What’s Grandpa got to do with any of this?”

“Grandpa?! Fucking nonsense Grandpa! Know what your mother really was?” Suddenly shrill, voice spiking upward unexpectedly.

“She was human… powerful human Ability User with Death Attribute? Look – I chose two talents! Both linked directly to death!” Blurted reply tumbled out instantly.

Blood Honey and Syrup? One linked with Life! Another tied strongly towards Soul! Without his munchies bloodline twisting both into weird foodstuff? Those talents should’ve matured into something truly monstrously powerful! That Gluttony Bloodline clearly came from Dad. Therefore, Death Attribute must surely have been inherited directly through Mom herself!

“Hmmmph… human?!” Angry huffs through red lips before turning incredibly acidic: “Think about it – how did Marcas treat you anyway? Half as well as me?”

“Nope,” honest response.

“Fine! Answer this – compared alongside Dorothy… which child seems more authentically his? Next question – measured against normal families? How healthy looks this bond between you and Marcas?”

“I’m eldest son! Naturally requires stricter handling! Some families? Fathers and sons barely speak even!”

Memory flashes surfaced… Childhood years mostly lived under Elsa’s care. After turning four? Shifted home to Father… Yet still spent majority time within her residence afterwards. Later? After Marcas remarried? Wedding vampiric Nicole? Nicole remained clueless about his biological origin – treated young Sizar like her own precious boy! Incredibly attentive! Then? Dorothy newly born? Sizar started understanding things older… fragmented recollections from Earth bubbled upwards… shedding childish behaviors. But bonds between father and son? Remained stubbornly unchanged.

Marcas carried inherently serious personality… somewhat cold inside too… Naturally, he usually acted strictly toward Sizar. Yet Sizar distinctly perceived parental concern underlying that sternness. Not remotely exaggerated as Elsa implied. However, no denying felt distance separating them… Not normal family warmth whatsoever.

He’d never once behaved like Dorothy – seeking fond indulgence, cozy hugs seeking closeness. Thus, this weirdly distant cold feeling stretched unbroken from earliest days until very now. How Marcas treated Sizar? Held heartfelt concern beneath… yet something else maintained carefully measured distance simultaneously.

“Really dying to know? Fine… I’ll tell! But… its long stretch story! Had to start from my childhood.” Having vented inner storm, Elsa sounded calmer now… beginning recollection journey.
